This was simple. Claire's scarings were always a bit overcomplicated, but Phil showed that a creepy house, a (hopefully) fake skeleton and some granny costumes are enough.
it was 11months in the making.. with all the signing up for meals on meals etc.. so seems overcomplicated

How can you tell he enjoys this role? Love the reference to Psycho. Claire turning a chair around only to see the skeleton of a deceased woman. Then Claire knocks a light, turns around, and sees Phil dressed as an elderly woman holding a knife. Like how in Psycho, Lila turned a chair around only to see the skeleton of the deceased Mrs. Bates. Then Lila knocks a light bulb, turns around and sees Norman Bates dressed as his mother holding a knife.
