It's a defense mechanism and designed to soften the blow and seemingly create a relationship with the accuser. It also buys time to think of a response while trying to take the seriousness out of the accusation. Stelter was classic "punched in the mouth" and stunned that anybody could do such a thing. So he laughs hoping the one throwing the punch will say "I was only kidding". Not so here. Wolfe followed it up with a right cross and a punch to the gut. Some day if Stelter is still around he may figure it out that the words listen and silent are spelled with the exact same letters.

If you want proof of this just look at the voting records of today’s Politicians 99% vote along party lines this indicates they are looking after their party and rich investors interests not the American people’s.
Both parties have been corrupted by corporate greed, Career politicians do not make millions on government salaries, they get all that money by selling out the American people.
If we want change we have to start electing those that are not in the pockets of lobbyist and special interest groups we need to start supporting more third parties and vote for people not a party.

Fox News is a hundred times better than CNN. they’re not perfect but they don’t have to be, to be better journalists than on CNN. The bar is pretty low.
How about, "Stop lying!" There's a good reason to not trust CNN.
When fact checking claims by both CNN and Fox, Fox's claims are 58% false, while CNN claims are 22% false. So, literally more than half the claims you hear on Fox news are actually false, in order to brainwash you into the reality THEY want you to believe. It's the least trusted news network for a reason. They lie and they don't even try to hide it. Unfortunately many people just aren't able to see it because you exclusively live in that bubble.
