He's a baritone, and he can go from soft, gentle low notes to full-power at the high end of his range, or similarly from low distorted notes to high-end cleans, in the space of one second. I learned how to do fry screaming when I was a kid, and I have been practicing it off and on for 13 years. Only fry screaming, nothing else. Then a few months ago, a friend from my work that loved my screaming voice, wanted to see if I could do a low false cord. Ofcourse, I had tried it in the past, but I could never figure out how to do it. But at the same time, I didn't put too much effort into trying. After what my friend said, I decided to put effort into learning how. Within a week, I learned how to do a proper false chord, and it took only about a month of practice to get it as good as my fry scream. At the same time, I also started to learn how to do high pitch screams. Im not perfect at those, but I'm getting better. So no, you really don't have to stick with one style, and learning other styles will inevitably improve your main style of screaming. My fry scream is better than it's ever been thanks to learning how to do other styles.
If you are a fry screamer, and you want a tip for how I learned how to do a low false chord: Put your mouth in the shape that it'd be in if you were about to yawn, and then just let out a loud groan with some distortion...and that's essentially how I started to learn it properly. If your throat hurts after trying, than stop, don't push it. You weren't doing it properly then. Let your voice rest for a few hours before trying again, changing up your technique slightly. Find what works for you, but don't damage your voice in the process. Ofcourse, there's more tricks to it than just that, but that's a good start.

For me, Spiritbox is like the female version of Wolves at the Gate. They make the blending between singing and screaming look so easy and fluid. And their ability to add something “new” to every single vocal is just impressive. Courtney is next level on all fronts.

To answer your question about what singers have a unique sound to their voice or add to their voice, I think Tati from Jinjer is mine. She adds a really nice almost Jazz/Blues sound to her singing voice. It's almost like a smoky quality.
