Also, it needs to be pointed out that if you accept this token amount of money from Logan Paul's company, you are legally waiving your right to participate in any future lawsuits against him or his company in this matter. Legally speaking, this would be considered as having settled the dispute.

There should be a legal code that requires those who use ai have their works called “Ai assisted” creations”. It’s like checking where something was crafted. It’s an easy thing to add as a disclaimer so you know whether or not the artist deserves praise or not

They have lives, they have families, they have school, they have work, and they have other things to do besides watch gaming videos and read reddit gaming forums. Like actually playing the games they have. At best, they might do a little bit of watching for a game or two they play.
Or to put it another way, this channel, which is followed by people who are interested in gaming, has over 3m followers. As of the time of this comment, fewer than 100k views on this video. Even inside this relatively tiny social media bubble, the majority of people don't watch a sizeable portion of the content. And of that sub-100k, how many will have read the comments? And of the comments, well, just look at how few are about the Steam awards. Nobody cares.

On the AI art and Joe saying that the image being altered might lead to it being their art I could only recall the cases against Capcom for stealing and altering the art of others for their games. Sometimes altered. As far as I know, they lost those cases so I'm curious why they would consider this too be any different except the pool of stolen art is more than just one picture.
Case law changes over time though. And your terminology is incorrect as stealing or theft mean something has been removed from someone's person. That's why piracy isn't theft by legal definition.
Copyright infringement is a thing, but then you'd have to actually have copyright enforcable on your art in the first place.
But there's really no difference between an AI copying art than a human copying art.

Want a proof of that ? A little example : The concept of robot was created by Karel Čapek. So each time you draw a robot or use one in a fictionnal universe, you just copy the concept of Karel Čapek.
When you draw a realistic car, you just copy the work of someone else who created and designed that car. And that can goes on for almost every thing that is related to technology and fantasy stuff.
If art was only about not stealing someone else idea, it would be only about drawing fruits or flowers. That's stupid.
The truth is : for the past century "artist" where overcharging others for their work, asking us to pay hundred, thousand or even sometime millions of dollars for a single painting. But now, the same painting can be made for nothing by an AI in less than 1 minute. And your ego can't accept that people won't be forced to go throught the artist dumb conditions anymore.
A human copying art changes the entire feel of the picture, AI and Human art are definitely not the same...

In the case of AI art/writing generators, i think Steam's approach is the best - if you use AI created stuff, you have to prove that material used to teach AI was properly acquired with the knowledge of original creators.

If an artist uses a software to paint, they paid the owner of the software to use the stuff for its very purpose.
The use of colors or perspective to draw aren't things you can claim an ownership for. Those are the most fundamental things in our everyday life without which we wouldn't be able to function.
Works of art are a combination of hours, days if not months of work and ideas someone actually put into it creating it. Ideas that only a real person can come up with. AI on its own cannot create, you have to feed it others work in order to have a reference point from which it can derive from and create something akin to the original.
With the example of a house - bricks, paint, pluming, etc. aren't thing that any of us has invented, but that doesn't meant that the house I built myself with my own hands and spends months of my own time doing it suddenly can be entered and used by anyone without my consent because I didn't invent the idea of a brick it was made from.
Because I built that house, it belongs to me and if you want to use it, you have to either pay me or ask for permission to do so.

I kinda view AI translators as being more of an inevitable change than AI artists. Art is intrinsically human, so I don’t see AI dominating over humans. AI translators though are only going to get better, and it’s kinda necessary as well since there’s more of a need for AI translators outside of just translating media and such.
One way I look at it is, how many sci-fi settings have universal translators? Being able to communicate with anyone seems to have been a dream of humanity for a long time.
and i counter that by saying that translating is very human activity. using phone or whatever between you and the other person is really impersonal as you have a robot taking over the whole interaction and youre both waiting for the magic box. with human translator you have a third human with emotions and humor etc. also book translators can use dialect, personality and their general knowledge of the topic to flavor the thing in a way no other translator will. also translating helps many professionals to learn more and stay on the subject.
i love watching shows like the simpsons and seeing how different translators translate some jokes and whatnot.
translating is about wanting to understand others and helping others understand. if you outsource it to a robot then youre just building a wall between deep human communication
but yes i also see use in quickly translating some foreign game manual or metro map or so. there ai can be at home

Having machine translation for casual use is a clear case of convenient good enough because the alternative is simply impractical.
Of course, when it comes to translating books, movies, shows, games etc. you make a good point that a trained human translator will deal much better nuances than AI.

Yeah, I'll be honest I think while it's a good endeavour, career-wise, that'll be one of the things obliterated by technology (if it already hasn't been to a large extent).
Your skill, talent, and training as an artist will remain needed for three reasons.
1. You and those like you will be needed to clean up the mistakes AI generation makes.
2. You and those like you will remain needed to retain your employer's copyright on the artwork.
3. You and those like you will find gig work for authentic human-made art in the same way someone commissions a painting instead of a photograph.
If Steam wants to do user voted rewards they need negative awards or this will happen. If they had "Least Innovative Gameplay Award" Starfield would not have won the most innovative.
