Hello folks! Wympy here, and today we're going over the the basics of Mind over Magic. I've also got some early game tips for you so that your base is successful. Enjoy!
Hey, that wonderful for a first timer, It was informative enjoyable to watch, and you have an easy going and pleasant voice (reminds me of CGP grey but its more relaxing than his fast paced blast energy*. This is a wonderful game for its early access material.
Nine Super pro tips for advance players out there [Relentless Mode]: 1) Never build a kitchen (or cook any food, unless is for medal or slop for pets) 2) Never plant rice or any other food crop other than Gutberry. (The food production is so bad, is like we owe them money. Hire Wolfkin, they can eat a rat's ass for all I care.) 3) Never allow Staff/Student to eat on a dining table. They can grab the food and eat on the spot STANDING, saved travelling time=more production per day. 4) Set consumption for all staff and student to NOT allow them to eat the fancy food unless is for Trials.
YOUR "USELESS" STUDENTS! (And summon more useful one) ** This is especially true when you have research kindly mage grave, it gives free +10 conviction buff for each Staff/student per grave EVERYDAY. (And each grave gives sweet sweet Hallowlilly Bloom to made into beds for your staff to sleep on it) 6) BUILD A GREENHOUSE! It increase your plants production by 500%! (For all those who don't know, if you build a room full of "Small Round Window" it magnify your plants growth rate) 7) Hire your Necromancer today! Your Quilt maker increase your production rate by 1000%! Ban your staff/student from hauling/cutting tree/mining/repairing and cleaning. Those are for thralls! 8) Build Foundation on each interval distance(and place a mana lantern on it) as you travel further for advance resources like Sculptor Stone and Runewood. It saves your staff from travelling back for rest(mana refill) Work them to the Death! 9) Lock your researchers into a room called "Mage's Hermitage" and throw away the keys! It increase your research by 400%! Wolfkin can sleep on the floor and eat rat's ass(carcass stew) for breakfast!
These are some good tips. I don’t know about the cooking one though, I find the Bitter gruel recipe isn’t too bad. Also you can have a chest set up right next to the dining area that has food in it to cut down on travel time. If that works for you, then keep doing it!
For a first video buddy. Really well done was informative and well put together..
Thanks so much! 😄
Great video thank you for making it! Very impressive as well in that it's your first one 👍
This was incredibly helpful as well as concise and articulate. Thank you!
Appreciate the kind words!
A cheap early game trick I've learned is roof gives luxury as well in case you need to get certain rooms up and running sooner rather than later
Great tips! Would love to see a play through from you (:
Agreed ... watching someone play the game (someone that knows what they are doing) is the best form of learning ... IMHO ... heh.
Very clear, thanks! I’m not used to colony builder type games so starting this game was a bit overwhelming, but this helps!
Glad it helped! If you have any questions, I’m happy to assist 😊

Thank you so much! Agreed that this is a great game, especially for early access.
A very informative video. One suggestion would be to add chapters. You got a sub from me 🙂 and I look forward to other videos.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will try to do this from now on!
How did you build your bedroom on the left like this? I tried and mine says it's not private.
That’s an Austere Bedroom, and it didn’t have the Private keyword. Some room keywords change from game to game.
Ah I see. The Austere Bedroom has the private keyword now. Thanks a lot, wympy!
how do I get the arcane scrolls? I might have missed that part
You get Arcane Scrolls through battles. The more skulls a battle has, the more scrolls you get.
thanks! I figured it out today when I encountered a crystal battle. I was only getting 2 from each dungeon.@@Wympy1
