    Another hint. If you know you have a project coming up. Pre prep your rolled vinyl- unroll it and lay it flat. 👀 so you’re not working against yourself lol set something on it and let it relax. I take all of my rolled vinyl out and lay it flat (if I have a project coming up that I need a roll for I get my measurements and then I precut and then lay it flat! Hope that helps!
    Great video. Now I’m gonna make me a sign for the back of my truck

      Bonnets 2 Getha great suggestion. That would work for a person that is organized and a good planner but I do almost all of these videos unplanned and spare of the moment. I literally get up and decide what I want to show people. I also try to show most of the steps from start to finish. Preparing vinyl a day before and flattening it is a great idea but I’d have to record that step too. A day in advance. That’s more work for making the video. Great advice though and makes one hundred percent sense.

      @@adubbproductions You’re most welcome. Of course, I realize you have stepped up your game in cutting and printing equipment, however I’m still learning to use my Cameo 4 cutter. I’m really happy with it so far because it’s much better than my CRICUT Explorer Air 2 in so many ways. It cuts up to 10 feet, I can save and KEEP my own projects, I can cut rhinestone flock templates, and I can DRAG AND DROP images with Silhouette Studio. I have the Business Edition. I wish I had known about the Silhouette and the Siser cutters when I begun my crafting journey. But it is what it is, and I’m seeing so many different options out there. When I’m able to get another cutter… and the prices go down, I do plan to get another quieter, more efficient cutter like the Romeo or the Cameo 5 Plus. I do want a wider format cutter and sublimation printer eventually, but right now, I have to wait until I can get them. So meanwhile, I’m trying to make the best of what I have.
      I know… too much information… but I just wanted you to know where I am in my crafting journey. I’m still learning, and I’m doing my best with what I have.

    When I am trying to apply rolled vinyl to a mat and I go with the shortest side of mat....you were fighting it pretty bad on the length side with the whole piece of vinyl rolled out...I roll it or re-roll it if you have to so that the right side is ready to place on mat...I hold the rolled section with my 4 fingers and use my right thumb to start on right corner short side of mat.....and then go to left side and use thumb to place the left vinyl corner down....middle will automatically level out...them just roll the rest of vinyl out onto the mat....without having to deal with the rest of vinyl getting stuck to mat

    you actually don't even need to use the cutting mat, just load the vinyl directly into the machine and select "No Mat". Then you only have to cut out what you actually used... and it's quicker

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions Před 5 lety

      I’ve done it like that once. I’d have to explore that option more before i give anyone instruction on it. Are your cut settings the same when you cut without the mat?
      You also need to use more vinyl don’t you? The machine needs the extra to hold onto!? Correct?

    • @aprilmarie5085
      @aprilmarie5085 Před 5 lety +9

      You can literally take the roll of vinyl and feed it directly into the machine and just let the rest of the roll kind of hang off the edge of the table. Under 'Page Setup" select "None" for cutting mat and the default settings for Matte Vinyl (speed 5, force 10, 1 pass) will cut it perfectly.... also, have you figured out how to cut something bigger than your mat yet? If you are doing car decals, you'll want to know how to do that! After your decal cut job is done, just unload the vinyl from the machine and scissor cut the part you need off your vinyl. If you are left with like a square or something, save that and use the mat for maybe cutting a small decal out. Just turn on the grid marks on your page setup so you can be sure your design will fall within the piece of vinyl on your cutting mat.

      Good Question. Id have to say no they are different. With this Oracal 651 the transfer tape that Im using has the color of that traditional old school scotch tape that can rip easy kinda like paper. that dark tan color. Transfer sheet is more so dealing with a specialty vinyl that you dont press on the regular way. you have to transfer it using a Transfer sheep then press the transfer sheet with the image on it to the garment. Transfer sheet is normally I think maybe in all cases transparent. do not try to heat press transfer tape. Ive never done it but I don't think it would end well. transfer sheet, you Can heat press. I’m positive it should work on both. Aluminum I’m a little scriptural but it should tack onto it and hold. I haven’t tried aluminum.

    Just to help you out bro if you plan on doing this for awhile with the cameo instead of a plotter with a stand and rollers you should invest into a a roll feeder for the cameo it costs 23 dollars and it saves you from having to waste so much time and effort messing around with those useless cutting mats.

      @@adubbproductions Thinking about making BLack LIves Matter Decals. I am looking at the Epson printer you have. Which model is it and how many tees can you get out of one set of inks. Coldesi has DFX i550 that has sublimation toners at $1300 yielding 2500-3500 prints. Expensive!! Looking for a more economical QUALITY option.

      Jumper OG illustrator. Photoshop doesn't make images in vector and that's what you need for a vinyl cutter as far as I'm aware, illustrator will create images in vector

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions Před 4 lety +1

      There are many different ways to find customers. Especially today with social media. I’m gonna make a video on it. But promotion is the main way. Post what you make and wear what you create is on way you can start getting customers. If people like it they will ask you about it. Start there. I’ll make a video on all the different ways I find customers though.

    • @stella3615
      @stella3615 Před 5 lety +1

      A-Dubb Productions Allan Wade my question was rather than connecting to a laptop or desktop computer, can you connect through Bluetooth on the cellphone? I know you can with the Cricut I was wondering if you can connect through Bluetooth with Cameo.

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions Před 5 lety +1

      Stella White I have to be honest. I haven’t checked yet but I am pretty positive that you can because in the Silhouette app on my cellphone there is an option to send to cutter and it says no device connected just like the computer would say when the Bluetooth isn’t connected. Also there is no way to connect a usb cable to a phone. I’ll make a video and show you what I’ve found.
