- For all the Clerises out there! This is the fluff piece that I have always wanted to do but never quite found the time for. It's basically a mega-mix of most of the Cloud x Aerith cameos, as well as FFVII in-game sequences and of course AC footage. I especially love the Itadaki Street Special cameo where they keep stealing glances at each other, sooo cute! They look so happy together! Don't you find that the two of them are constantly looking at the sky or each other, no matter which game they're in? And Aerith keeps twirling around, she must be feeling a little dizzy by now. ^__^ Oh and I think I will have to edit this when Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out. XD If anyone manages to record the scene where the flower girl and the soldier are at the church in Alexandria in Final Fantasy IX, do tell me! I didn't include the Parasite Eve 1 & 2 cameos 'cause no one wants to look at a computer virus, yeah? To pretend there is a plot to this video, let's take the FFVII world as a past life such that Cloud is always searching for Aerith now. I suggest watching this after my other video so that we end with something happy! It's kinda like the light to "Best I'll Ever Be"'s angsty darkness. giggle-snorts
A HUGE "thank you" to mikkachan2 for recording the Itadaki Street Special and Kingdom Hearts 2 clips for me and playing through FFT. I am your slave for life! Many thanks to Lynn as well for getting me "Reminiscence" so I could have the flower field at the end! Owe ya big time. =] The clips were heavily edited in the second-half of the video, but unless you've memorized the scenes you'll likely not notice most of the changes. lol The song I used is "Taken" by Plumb. For me, even when I was 10 years old, it was always very clear that Cloud loved Aerith. Even my mother who randomly watched me playing FF7 and saw the ending demo was like "the main character must love that woman (aerith)". There are nowadays even fights about the hand in the end!!! Some Clotis say it is not Aerith's hand! COME ON!!! Aerith's theme playing on the background...maybe it was Cloud's aunts hand? Even if it wasn't Aerith's hand Cloud would have wanted it to be... i am so happy to know that clerith shippers have been around since that time! it must have been difficult to post this video at the time advent children was released and endure the annoying cloti shippers. the ff7 universe has always been about cloud's love relationship with aerith, just as the ff10 universe is about tidus's love relationship with yuna. 🥺❤
Still, I'll be honest, Cloud is a very complex character . I am sure that he also has feelings for Tifa . But for me, he really loved Aerith . And Aerith loved him . I hope the developers won't destroy their relationship in Part 2 because of Zack. If you can argue about Cloud Tifa Aerith, we have several direct answers and phrases from Aertih that she loved Cloud more than Zack . If the developers forget this, it will be a real failure. I generally hope Zack will not meet with the main gang , it will greatly harm the story

The idea "family" was never stressed in the original game. The family was only formed after the events of the original game, by which point the others had already gone their separate ways.
@IamVendel Tifa clearly thinks that her "family" is just a support group. In the revised CoT, Barret thought of making a family, Marlene invited Cloud to be part of it. However, ever since Cloud started his job, things became tougher on the "family". Cloud wasn't around most of the time, Tifa tried to do something about it but failed miserably, and cue in Marlene talking about it to her father. "Tifa thought she could get over anything while being with friends that she could call her family.

@Essedel Thank you for highlighting yet another quote that proves C/T are in a relationship. Because to be "left behind" by a man you have to be with that man. You would never use that phrase for a "buddy" or your "big kid" who moved out of the house.
Tifa is hurt because she does not know why Cloud left. But because she knows him better than anyone, as soon as she sees his geostigma bandage she figures it out instantly.
At then end of the movie she welcomes him home.

@Essedel Even Aerith in the movie tells Cloud he doesn’t need her forgiveness. SE word on the subject is that at the end Cloud learns he can forgive himself (after saving Denzel BTW). Oh and go ask anyone that has suffered trauma or depression if they could have gotten over it if only they had loved someone enough.

@IamVendel If you even bothered to watch AC, Cloud and Vincent's guilt and sins were similar. Both of them failed to protect someone important to them. In case you forgot, that was the conversation they HAD after those 3 Remnants faced Cloud in the City of the Ancients. Cloud wasn't exactly brought down that much anymore by Zack's death, he has lived for him already, which was the payment of Zack's sacrifice. He said that he'd live for him too at the end of Crisis Core.

@IamVendel And way to go concluding that people living together under one roof means that they are so in love with one another. It was never specified what feelings were shared. It was never love. Also Cloud lived mostly by himself, it was almost always Tifa and the children who were left at the bar most of the time. Which CoT confirms that the "family life" wasn't so good too, because Cloud was always away. And that he took to sneaking out to Aerith's church, confirmed by CoT and AC.
@Essedel Marlene was not Tifa’s responsibility during the game. She was Barret’s. A responsibility he then gives to Tifa and Cloud in CoT. The family of three is formed.

@IamVendel Aerith after her death was always connected to the Lifestream. But then again, if it were so, the children at the end of the film were probably hallucinating that Aerith was there. SE already provided an explanation for it - saying that those close to the Lifestream is more sensitive to it. We also have Sephiroth who also is WITHIN the Lifestream after his death in FF VII, but due to some "plot convenience" he suddenly appears right in front of Cloud and is apparently made real.

@Essedel Funny how “feelings for each other” is a universally understood phrase, unless you are a delusional shipper. And it’s funny how when that phrase is used on a page about displays of romantic love it somehow doesn’t mean that at all. Isn’t shipping great? Nothing means anything at all unless it’s about your ship. And again the lifestrean sequence is not optional. THAT is where the feelings are revealed.
In every lovestory in FF there was a couple. These couples always included a physical fighter and a magical fighter. Cecil and Rosa, Locke and Celes, Cloud and Aerith, Squall and Rinoa, Zidane and Garnet, Tidus and Yuna, Vaan and Penelo, Snow and Serah, and Noctis and Stella. Clerith fits ABSOLUTELY. Tifa - as the only female Monk in HISTORY - is definitively NOT what Square thinks about a "Perfect Couple". A shy and demure person together with a sunnyboy/-girl. Aerith fits perfectly.
@IamVendel LOL. The key word here is "like a family". Well heads up. The relationship of a "family" is so because Tifa acts as a mother to that family - she takes care of Denzel, Marlene and Cloud like a mother would for her children. It was never brought about by romantic feelings. Remember that Tifa was the one who did think up that "family" thing, and Cloud was not involved in it all the time, to the point that Tifa is frustrated and has to work extra hard to keep her "family" together.

I believe AC/ACC has already established that Aerith is still watching over Cloud. DoC isn't Cloud's story. What purpose would Aerith's reappearance serve other than demonstrate redundancy from AC/ACC? Isn't it enough that the character profiles state that Aerith is the girl Cloud could never forget?

@Firdagniriel Actually to be perfectly honest it was watching AC THEN reading some C/A essays on the subject that convinced me not only were C/T together. It convinced me the "Clerith is canon" group were insane.
They had obviously not watched the same movie.
@IamVendel Another reason is because of how easily Marlene agreed to be put under Tifa's care. It wouldn't ACTUALLY work if Marlene would rather have someone else, because that's the way children are. Granted that there was no other choice, and Marlene also knew what her father's job was like, it was still easy to put Marlene under anyone else's care except Tifa, because Tifa herself wasworking for AVALANCHE, and Barrett would have chosen someone normal so that Marlene wouldn't feel too odd.

Again, why does it matter if Aerith is shown leaving the church? She's shown to still be hanging around in the flower field at the end of Advent Children...and most importantly, we're told her consciousness lives on in Cloud.

Tifa shares this burden with Cloud. It would make sense that if it was JUST about guilt, Tifa could sort it out with Cloud. After FFVII, it WOULD make much sense because he and Tifa already knew they have each other. They made that pretty much clear. Romantic feelings aside, they made it pretty clear.
@IamVendel Nope, in CoT, Cloud still had his issues. It bothered him so much that Tifa called out him out on it in AC/ACC. It bothered him so much that he wanted Aerith to forgive him for his sins, more than anyone else. Tifa could see that she wasn't enough, that she wasn't able to reach him as effectively as Aerith did. Tifa was jealous of this close connection the two have, again stated in the Ultimanias, even after 2 years have passed to teh start of AC/ACC.
Marlene was already in the family before Tifa defined it. Therefore, she is, without a doubt, also referring to Marlene. IF Denzel and Marlene are part of the same family then that definition would also apply to Denzel. Even if you argue that neither directly share the same wounds/sins as Tifa, they share those things indirectly; if you're going to nit-pick, then they fit the category of friends who are a necessity to Tifa as she said. Barret considers himself part of that family too, btw
@Essedel Funny how SE describes Tifa as the catalyst that motivates Cloud to act. If it wasn’t for her he would not have gotten off his ass and gone after THEIR CHILDREN. Even when he meets his “special snowflake” Aerith for the first time she ask him why he has come ”I want to be forgiven”. And what is he doing? Trying to save the children. Funny thing to say if it was about her.
@IamVendel Well, if one ignores the "some time ago"... ;) So Tifa bans him out of her home, then she doesn´t exclude him... xD! The only thing these quotes are proving is that Cloud had a crush on a girl he never talked to and that he later fell in love with another girl - a girl that provided him comfort and appreciation.
He said that he thought Tifa hated him and that she would never come to him - however, she does. When she forces him to promise, she begins to develop a strong love for him.

Their ratings depend on Cloud's behaviors toward them, so, even though its their numbers changing and not Clouds, it is technically also Cloud's feelings as it is, again, his behaviors that are causing the change. Cloud's feelings/behaviors are dictated by player option which, ultimately, reinforces what SE has been saying all along regarding the LT: it is left up to the players. This affects more than just who Cloud dates. It also affects the Highwind scene, hence, why there are two versions.

A simple kiss between Cloud and Tifa would more than confirm something but we all know that won't happen as it's OPTIONAL who Cloud loves. You have way too much time on your hand if you're trying to prove otherwise. As for Barret, he returns during the events in Advent Children to save his "family", according to the Reunion book.
The explanation is that they're raising two children on their own because the other family member, Barret(AKA Marlene's father) is off trying to settle his past. When he returns, he will come back to his daughter, the new Seventh Heaven he helped built, and to the people he refers to as family. The AC story playback talks about how Cloud's family(his friends) were all there with him when he woke up. The entirety of Avalanche is considered one big family as confirmed by the picture at the end.
@LoklithixJJ i meant that zack and aerith die btw if anyone says anything and another thing to add i fell very sorry for cloud who has to live through it to be honest it would be so hard for me to live through something like that Cloud x Aerith always something about Cloud x Tifa doesnt seem right i dont know what is she doesnt seem right for him and aerith has the look about her well.
@Essedel Following this, the pair experience many hardships, such as the Nibelheim incident which also appears in CC, and the Jenova War in FFVII, and through these the distance between them shortens. And in AC they live together, with Barret’s daughter Marlene and a boy named Denzel..............
