I remember back in 1981 that there were people protesting outside the theatre in our town and that
there was a push to ban the film from being shown in the United States .

1944 is another great one(Estonian German/Soviet Union ) & Generation War( German Film), tangerines/mandariin(Estonian film).
The new das Boot series is not as good as original, but on board and with Gestapo is compelling; very good. Shows how war truly can alter individuals. :(
