  • Swedish mid-18th century folksong, accredited to Anders Flöija. The first strophes from a dutch medieval song "Naar Oostland Willen Wij Rijden", others from religious sources.
    English Translation:
To the land in the east I will travel
    where my beloved lives
    over mountains and deep valleys
    beneath a green linden tree
There I will build a home
Where the ground is always green
Where the trees are always adorned
    With flowers
They flower both winter and summer
in the meadow where they grow
    One full of nutmeg flowers
    the other of little cloves
    Prepare yourself my soul
    to travel far way
    over mountains and dry plains
    before the night falls.
    I searched throughout my mind
But could not see him there
Where shall I ever find him
Who hold our souls so dear

Thank you Tom, it surely is, it has that typical Swedish melancholy sprinkled with hints of major.
