    Loved the tear down video. Have the exact motor in my 96KDX 200. Having trouble with reinstalling the exhaust valves and timing. The Clymer book I have is a little vague, and ideas! Was hoping you did an assembly video!

    I’d would have liked to see what position your stator plate was in… I always put mine right in the middle of the adjustment and it seems to run fine

    Other than kps valve is there much difference on a e series motor? Thanks for the great video.

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 5 lety

      It is basically the same, minor differences. Think the KIPS shaft is different, and the power valves.

  • @silviowanderleimaieski

    Bom dia Sparkingdogg! Qual a quantidade de óleo exata no motor/caixa da KDX 200 ano 1995/96, na tampa indica 0,70 L, no entanto coloquei 1L e ficou aparecendo muito pouco no visor da lateral! Tenho essa dúvida e você poderia me ajudar? Agradecido desde já...

    I been all over calling different companies and junkyards and everyone tells me that part which I need #21007 is no longer in stock and it's Obsolete. Now I'm stuck with a bike that doesn't work. That sucks!!

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 7 lety

      Not at the moment, unless you have an E series 1989-1994 model. I might have one of those. I don't think I have anything for an H series 1995-2006 model.

    • @pwee507

      Sparkingdogg nah. its a 99

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 7 lety

      Yeah I don't think I have anything left. I don't find KDX's much anymore. Been a while since I parted one out. Been all KTM's lately, and a few Honda XR's. Anything 1995-2006 200 or 220 will fit your bike. They are the same.

    • @pwee507
      @pwee507 Před 7 lety

      Sparkingdogg ok. its really hard to find these bikes nowadays.

  • @TheTruthMatters
    @TheTruthMatters Před 4 lety

    Ok lol, I've got it apart, the 1998 kdx I got blew a main bearing.... Anyway, I cannot figure out how to put the power valve back in... You wouldn't have a video for that would you? 😥😅

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 4 lety

      No, you need a shop manual to set the timing on the power valves, a shop manual is really needed. It's not that hard. Get an original factory manual. You can probably find a free download online.

    • @TheTruthMatters
      @TheTruthMatters Před 4 lety

      @@sparkingdogg Thanks, I didn't think I could get all those pieces back together, luckily I watched your video about it having that left handed screw before I took it down, but going back together.... I thought I was in over my head till i super cleaned the whole thing (which hasn't been cleaned since 1998 OMG...). But I noticed subtle differences in the teeth of the valves, and I actually got it completely back together. Thanks, I still need the manual for torque specs so I'll double check that it's right, but it seems to be...

      @sparkingdogg  Před 6 lety

      Compression test, clean the KIPS valves maybe?

  • @thehairyfingernazarath9006

    Hi im thinking about buying a 93 kdx200 apparently it runs when it wants too but bogs out has been sat 6months , has compression and spark only thing wrong with it (or so he says) Is a split in the carb manifold. Am i right in thinking that will be the cause of the starting issues? Its up for 550 uk pounds is it worth it? Its in fair condition. It seems to sound abit rough when kicking it over too? Thankyou

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 7 lety

      A split in the boot means it has run lean, the rings may need replaced. If the cylinder needs plated it is expensive. The KIPS valves are probably gummed up too. Carby might be dirty. Price sounds good for a decent running bike. That one, not so much. It might be simple, it might be expensive.

    Hey guys. Can anyone tell me what part he is removing at 15:47 ? Mine is leaking a black fluid and I'm curious what that part actually is. First 2 stoke bike, so pardon if I sound inexperienced. Thanks! Much appreciated.

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 10 lety

      that is the exhaust valve access cover, it's leaking "spooge" which is unburned 2 stroke oil, you should clean your exhaust valves, they get really dirty!

    I have a question. I have a 1984 Kawasaki KDX250 and I need a FLYWHEEL MAGNET ROTOR and I can not find it online anywhere at all. Will another later model work on my bike to get it up and running again?

    • @sparkingdogg
      @sparkingdogg  Před 9 lety

      This Kawasaki 21007-1065 ROTOR is used on these models and components:
      1983 KDX250-B3 KDX250 GENERATOR
      1984 KDX250-B4 KDX250 GENERATOR

      That's the only 2 years that fit. You will have to keep watching ebay until one comes up for sale. I don't have any other resources. Those parts are long obsolete. If you see someone on ebay selling 83/84 parts, email them and ask if they have a flywheel. Good luck!

      You are welcome. You can use this website to search ALL of Craigslist: zoomthelist.com/ I would enter "KDX250" and "KDX 250" I would leave the year out of the search and just scan the listings manually. Every once in a while I get lucky using this search engine.

      There is a lot of information on kdxrider.net regarding rebuilding a KDX 200/220 engine, if you do not have experience or tools, you would have to take it to a mechanic. I can't be of so much help, friend... I am on the other side of the world!

      Will help if I can, I'm not an engine builder. Get a good factory service manual. The Euro 125 will be quite near the same. Remember the KIPS shaft arm is reverse thread! Good luck and cheers.
