- It didn't take long for the Chargers to dip back into free agency, bringing in veteran wide receiver DJ Chark. The former Panther will bring great speed and experience to the Chargers young wide receiver room but to produce at a high level he will have to bounce back from a bad 2024 season. Dan and David discuss how the new addition should bring a great competition in training camp and answer Fan Mail Friday questions. Is LA done making free agent moves, and if they aren't, which positions still need to be addressed after draft? The guys discuss why safety and interior offensive line should still be added to with veteran experience. I've been beating the DJ Chark drum for 3 years now. I cant believe they finally got him! Just wait guys, if he stays healthy, he will easily have a career year. Hortiz is killing it!
Kinda feel the same way I remember adding him to a franchise just in case we added him. Though i feel we got him to late now I see him as a mentor guy
Why? Hes injury prone and terrible. His best season the last 3 years has been 35 for 525. We have rookies we are paying nothing to who can do that 😂 Why pay him $5 million and waste playing time that should be going to getting young guys experience. We already know what Chark is, an average WR3. Carolina didn’t even want him back. You know you suck when CAROLINA is like nah, we’re good.

I'm tweaking with envy at everything the bolts did in the last 6 months.. You got yourselves a big time coach, then that coach went out and had a big time draft. I can't believe you guys scored McConkadonk! This guy is a game changer.... He is uncoverable. My Bills should have drafted him.😢
Brendan rice is also a plus athlete. His high school 200m time was 21.8 and he also ran 10.78 in the 100m. His 4.5 40 time makes him sound slower than he is. That’s why 40 times are bad measures of speed, WR’s aren’t starting their routes out of a 3-point stance and taller players have a hard time unfolding themselves. I’m 5’ 10” and in college i ran a 10.59 hundred but my 200 was 21.9. After the first 20 meters Rice would have reeled me in. If we started a race from an upright stance he would have caught me in three strides. It would be cool to see all our WR’s doing gassers side by side in practice and seeing who got to the line first from a standing position, i bet rice would be right there with everyone else
Exactly, the 40 time doesn’t reflect a players “football speed” at times. Some guys just have better technique and are more relaxed , therefore the fast times. There’s plenty of players that play faster that their 40 time
@@samm9074 i haven’t watched film or anything but his highlights show some nice downfield separation. Long strides with quick leg turnover = fast on-field speed

Love the competition in the WR room now. It would dope if both QJ and JP elevate, with Ladd and Chark to be top 4. DD would be 5/returner. Rice would be the fringe 6 battling it out with CJ
DJ Chark, Ladd McConkey, Joshua Palmer=starters. B Rice, C Johnson, D Davis= relief. Q Johnson, S Fehoko= practice squad. Now need to work on corner, safety, D-line. Just maybe a few of the UDFAs will elevate their status and make the team. Plenty of time before training camp. Right now, the most important guy in the building is Ben Herbert. If he can make these guys more unbreakable, the bolts will finally beat the chiefs. Just make sure they limit Kelce,s production, especially on third down and fourth quarter.
I’m very excited to see our GM Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaugh bring in a veteran WR in DJ Chark , the first thing that came mind personally is this could be the writing is on the wall for Josh Palmer but I guess we’ll see what happens once training camp starts and or gets underway and who else the Chargers organization has their eyes on, and too all the Bolt Family hold to your socks baby,I’m loving this it is extremely exciting Bolt Up ⚡️⚡️💪💪👏👏

FINALLY got Herbert a DEEP SPEED THREAT to open up this offense and use that ROCKET for an arm instead pf constantly waistng it. This is the deep threat with ELITE speed we soerly have been missing. We dont need him to be a starter, hes better at going down feild and tracking the deep ball than T Billy and Guyton. That will be his role whats the point of having all that arm talent with no one to go deep in a hurry. This guy has 4.3 speed nice pick up.

QJ needs to step up or hell be a back up, Brenden Rice is a hella of a pick up, And Mcconkey has potential to be a star that kid is flat out dangerous. I even like the deep threat ability of Johnson, Well be passing the ball more by committee I like it. I was worried at first but I'm liking it now we are not as top heavy were more deep and explosive. It was time for change.
@@joffyjoffa yep I was never really worried bro because we have fans act liked harbough hates Herbert but Williams hardly ever played and they they offered Keenan new contract with a pay cut so they decided to move on. Our room is younger faster and physical now also deeper. We also have a crazy good cap space, projected to be 100 mil next year

He was so good early on haters waited till he got hurt and his weapons were hurt in BACK to back seasons to ALL OF THE SUDDEN CLAIM he's not that good. I want Herberts true talent to shine. Its said it took all these years to FINALLY get the man a REAL coach and a running game and some damn speed. I love Mike and Keenen but we were slow and defenses knew it. That's how they were able to crowd all Hebert's passes underneath. And if we can't throw consistently and don't have a deep speed threat to open up the offense. Herberts can't show case he TRUE ability 🤷🏾♂️

Ive been saying all along that the offense with herbert will look more like the lions offense rather than the ravens. Goff had 4500 last year in that offense.

One good thing about all of our WR'S, we don't need a 1000 yd guy. We've got enough wr's that if all of the wr's we keep on the 53 man squad get 500 yds or so we'll be just fine
Look at the raiders draft .. it’s obvious lazy Talesco drafted the players he planned to draft for the chargers 😂 he raved about Brock Bowers, picked the center the chargers needed for Cory Lindsley . Picked the corner to replace Mike Davis and took a reach on the other picks

NEW offense attack designed by Jim Harbaugh. 10 personel that act like 12 personel. 2 WRs act like blocking TEs , 1 RB and 2 WRs outside. They have good run blocking WRs in Rice and Johnson in 7th round for a reason. Imagine that formation. Then let them run all over the defense on 2nd and play action 🤌
