  • Hello Beautiful Souls, in this episode; I'm working out the reality of my new studio space. When there's big stuff going on in life, and things don't feel right with the world, the small stuff can be really hard, can't it? Especially the smallest decisions. But, the small steps really matter, don't they? I did my best with my cosy nook to make a space for journaling and tried out some of your ideas suggested in the comments. After trying and failing, I wonder, did I get it right? Thanks, as always for keeping me company on this wild journey called life! Biggest loves & softest hugs, Wendy. Xxx

If the shelf doesn’t work, another idea would be to put a wall to wall bookcase behind the table. It will be perfect to set up all sorts of things even under the table and get stuff off the floor. IKEA has those cool cubbies that would work perfectly for you.

The snook looks great! Hang your large mirror (or get a cheap full length mirror) horizontally above your journal desk. The f.s. rule is you want to be able to see what’s coming your way. So happy moving furniture brought you positive energy.

I really like the table in its new position, there seems to be more space and it just flows better. Then as you come around the corner from the other section the day bed fit's that space much better. Doesn't feel as close to the oval office. I think it feels as if each space has a more defined role.

Sweet Wendy, I truly love the journaling table in the new spot against the far wall. You are left-handed, so the light is coming from the window to your right...so it makes perfect sense to put the table there and it opens up the space a lot more. If you are wondering about where you will put your lights ...once you have the shelf on the wall above the journaling desk, you mentioned that you want to have it quite high, then how about hanging the lights on and along the bottom of the shelf? Quite honestly I am in love with your studio space, it's lovely, airy, and bright. Yes, I am bonkers and loving every moment of it...it's a good kinda bonkers, so yes, let's be bonkers together :-) I am also an artist and have my off days (fibromyalgia), plus with everything going on in the world makes things really feel unsettling. My studio nook is in our bedroom and I absolutely love our cottage, so for me, it is extremely easy to become a hermit as it is my happy place and where I feel safe and loved. I worked full-time until January and since then I have been focussing on my artist's journey. I have realized on the 'off' days, that it is ok to have a under the covers day...or when I get up and my body especially doesn't feel great, I then get back into bed and say to myself, I will try again later. Strongs to you dearest Wendy...always remember, this too shall pass...just keep your focus on the light bright star. Much love, hugs and light to you and James. You two make an awesome team!

I love pottering in my garden too.🌺🌳🌻🌹🐝🦋 It is lovely to see you progress with the studio. I thought that the journaling table looks good on the end wall but might also be nice under the window too. It's nice to have options isn't it?😊 I hope you all have a good week.

Having it set up this way feels cozier, more welcoming. I like how the table fits the space perfectly. And sitting there it is just a slight turn to look out the window-verses having to turn all the way around before. For me I must always see an "out" to feel safe and comfortable. So that is my opinion. Hugs ❤️

Hello, Wendy! I am like you: sometimes I feel I shouldn’t get out of the house. It’s one of those things I can’t explain. I feel that in that particular day or that particular moment, I should stay at home. And, many times, when I decide that is nonsense and I do get out, I end up regretting it and concluding that, in fact, I should have followed my instinct.
I love to move things around the house. Not only because I like to change the ambience, but also because I like to look for the place where things make more sense or are more useful. Like yourself, I have to sit on the chair, sofa or even lay in bed to actually see if I like that piece of furniture in that particular place.
I am going through a very difficult moment in my life (not an illness) and my house has been my refuge. I don’t feel like going out or see people. I need to cocoon, like you say. Thanks for all the suggestions and advice.
By the way, may I ask why you didn’t put your art desk in front of the window?
I have mine in front of my window and I love that, because I can stop once in a while and look outside. Besides I can open the window and feel the air (when possible, of course, but in Portugal the weather usually allows us to have the windows open for a long period of time). Anyway, I like your art table in that place better than the other. And the day bed looks great in there too. But ultimately it’s you who has to decide if you feel good like that.
Thanks for keeping me company. See you soon ♥️🌈💙🌻💚🌸🧡⭐️💛🐚💗🌳❤️🌞🖤🍀💜✨

It's been fun watching you and James in your new space! The place where you moved your art journal table is great! It makes that area look so much more spacious. I'd hang a tiny wind chime on the door. Then you'll always have a tinkly sound to tell you when someone is entering. I''d also hang a little mirror over your table so you don't have to turn around every time it tinkles.

Smile, laugh and think of the people that make you happy then draw your beautiful fairies in beautiful gardens. Or write about it in your journal and even if you don’t feel like smiling, fake it and smile anyway…..it won’t be long before the smiles are real! SHOW UP... I needed those wise words today. It's the perfect way to deal with those difficult days; many good things can come from just showing up; you proved it here with all the wonderful things you got done by showing up on such a day. Thank you for sharing this great advice!
Now about the subscribers; you do need those 100 thousand and I know in your case it has nothing to do with ego but the need to protect your channel, and I want to suggest a way to make this come true much faster. When you get to that number CZcams will send you a silver coloured plaque acknowledging your passing that number of subscribers. So already from now reserve a visible spot where you will put it. Maybe it's not your style or ideal decoration but you can see it as the reminder of all that number of people who love you, admire you and support you. So come in every day and look at that empty space but in your mind see this object already standing there and feel inside of you what it represents , and feel great about it and grateful above all; this way it will manifest sooner. Good luck dear Wendy!

greetings from idaho, usa, sweet lady ... i watch all your vids, i rarely comment but felt the urge with this one ... re: journal table placement and then feelings of wonky energies ...
altho i am no feng shui expert, i understand that placement of a mirror can help your back-to-the-door hesitancy ... if you place a mirror in your niche, on the wall to the right of your small bulletin board, you can see what is behind you whenever you look up from your creating ... secondly (once again, i am no expert), many are feeling those energies and interruption of sleep patterns due to solar activity and planetary alignments & light bringing some negative issues to the forefront, so we can see (and hopefully "fix") ... anyway, you are full of fairy magic and you will be fine, or better than fine, as events play out ... special hello to james, i loved his expression after hanging your coat-hook-rack, you are so lucky to have each other ... p e a c e to you both ......

I'd place the oval Office chair next to the day bed, so you could face the door and your painting area, but you need to find what is right for you. Thanks again for sharing and inspiring us. Much love and Aloha to you dear Wendy as you navigate the obstacles.🙄 I too have had some set backs and an overload of issues to deal with at the same time within this past month...whew!😕 I was trying to get in better shape with a new exercise program and injured my hip, which has me laid up on ice for the last two weeks like a fish going to market!😆 As for your art table.... I prefer the new location...and like you I am "bonkers in the best way" as the location of chairs, beds, tables in my home only works if it feels right while sitting or sleeping there for some time. I hope the new location proves to be the right fit for you!🤞 Thank you for sharing your trepidation about going out in the world post-pandemic-lockdowns. To my huge surprise I believe I am suffering from the very same thing!😮 Your sharing has helped me to be gentler on myself about these strange feelings and unusual behaviors I'm experiencing. The journaling table looks so much better against the back wall of the nook. Plus, it gives you a place to slide your large canvas. The day bed looks better in the new location. You can look out the window from the day bed. The rounded edges of the day bed are better so that when you enter the nook you wouldn't run into the sharp edge of your table with your hip (in the old position). You could hang some fabric (maybe some gold print to go with your day bed) using zelcro from underneath the table to hide some of your boxes on the end of the table where you won't be sliding your chair in. Your space is turning out so well.

    Hi Wendy,
Been watching you from the very beginning but have not commented. But for some reason I was drawn to comment on this video :-) Put a mirror above your journaling table so that you can see what’s behind you. I think that would help tremendously with the feeling of having your back to the door even though it is around the corner. Mirrors help when it comes to feng shui.
Thanks for all your wonderful videos, I have enjoyed each and everyone especially during Covid era.

Love the new layout! What about a little rug- a cheap outdoor one with a nice pattern- in front of the daybed to make it cozy, but resistant to messy art projects ? And a lightweight folding screen to make that area even cozier, and visually block out the other areas of your studio that are still under construction? It might give you a visual respite from always seeing the parts that still need to be organized.

I like it with the seat facing the window and the table on the far wall. It looks neat and uncluttered and you face all your plant babies when your resting.

Sending so much energy your way. It really is a challenging time for so many at the moment (I'll include myself in that as well!). Anyway, your nook and daybed are looking super lovely and I'm sure they will provide a little sanctuary and support for all those days when you leave your four walls.

Love ❤️ the Art Journaling Table against that back wall with the daybed on the side wall. The whole snook works for me also because of the window and how you've set up your plants there.
It is definitely a cozy corner while the rest of the studio is a "work" area.

I love the Journaling Nook! I was going to suggest to you to put it against that wall as well so it would open that space more. It feels like there's more "room for thoughts" now!!! And the daybed centered there gives you a place to sit and ponder your painting space, your vlogging space, plants, and journaling nook!!!! It's your own "center of the universe" within your studio!!! It just feels so fresh and inspiring now! ❤

I love the table where you moved it and adding a shelf or book case on top of the table and hanging plants is a great idea. Might I suggest a second hand rug in front of the day bed and the long mirror hung long ways over the bed and a large painting or grouping of your paintings over the mirror (to show case them) which would cozy it up and make that space it's own. You could also add some shelves in the window to add some more plants and a colored glass bottles to reflect the light and you could start some plants in them for more plants! This space is really coming along and I can't wait to see what you do with it! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!

I like where the daybed is, I think it looks more like it belongs and becomes its own "entity" rather than being shoved into a corner. If someone visits, you could sit together with them on it. It creates a little oasis in the middle of it all. I understand about sitting with your back to the door, however, in this position you may be able to concentrate better, you know, you won't be able to see other parts and purposes in the room and be distracted while journaling. Feels better to me this way.

I love the lights above the table and also think perhaps a mirror on the right hand side would be nice to reflect the light, plants and of course the rest of the room. I can see lots of comfy pillows on the daybed and a cute little side table to put a cup of tea on it. I love the tiny shelf you have and want one myself to put plant babies on in interesting containers and display tea cups I inherited from my husband's Nana. You make me want to cozy up my art area too and buy lights! Love you Wendy.

oh the switch is so much better, Wendy. the day bed needs to be across from your plant babies. the art table seemed to crowd out the bed. I think you'll love being able to be across from the light in the window. you could put a bookshelf above the bed, maybe more plants. you have a lovely nook now! I hope you like it this way!💗

You now deserve a good rest after all the energy you used to move all your stuf!! I love where you put your art journaling table. I find it looks better there than where you originally put it. The nook with the fairy lights looks and feels cozy. And a previous comment said to put up a mirror on that wall so you can actually see behind you is also a good idea. And sitting on the daybed you can look at your window with all the little dangling things and plants... it's a perfect little cozy nook! 😍

I think that having the journaling table in that spot makes it a very inviting space especially with the lighting you put up and your idea of a shelf and plants …your new studio is so bright and lovely. I have now watched all your videos and am caught up to date..loved them all and found them all very inspiring..thanks!

  • @cosmiccoyotedog-doreenb9605

I like where the journaling table is. Here's some suggestions, Hide the boxes or paper reams that are under your table maybe move them under the daybed. How about a cute table lamp, that will warm up the writing area, and better for your eyes and there won't be a shadow. The shelf above would be great, you can add plants on it to hang down, and add some art work and knick-knacks on there too. Just a few ideas.....I do love your voice and all your videos, oh yeah and your wonderful art work.

I love how the change opened the space but also made it feel more cosy. I can see you in the day bed facing different directions depending on the day and it feels a beautiful spot for your fairies to watch over your shoulder and dance in the sunlight.

  • @daisiesandsunflowers5587

I agree that your art journaling nook looks cosy and peaceful now. Personally, I like to be able to "turn my back on the world" to get grounded in to my own thoughts and creative zone, so I wouldn't worry about the door around the corner.💗

With your journalling table facing the wall, for Feng Shui you might want to put a mirror up on the wall so you can see behind you?
I like the table in it's new arrangement, it looks more spacious. I love the way you placed the string of lights. It looks cozy that way. If you put shelves over the table it's going to be difficult to get anything on and off them BUT if you place shelves to the left of the table you'll have easy access to everything AND able to keep the lights where they are.

I love the table moved to the back wall. You also have the window easily to turn your chair toward. Less chance of distraction while working on the art journal, too. And the natural light from the window will not be blocked by your body when you are working there. 💕

    @ehpeachylove Před 2 lety

Sweet Wendy your energy flow is much improved with the journaling table against the wall and the day bed where you have it now. A narrow mirror in the wall off center to your chair would open the space and allow you to see behind you. Being it’s a nook, your back is not really to the door. I love the lights too.
Your plants look amazing and your little special items hanging down so pretty. I would add a pretty throw to the day bed which is a beautiful piece.
I pray your week is filled with promise, peace, creative energy . I too know what not sleeping feels like.

I totally agree….. I also have days where I shouldn’t or don’t want to leave the house. Sometimes when you push yourself to, it works but sometimes everything goes wrong and you regret it or you’re glad you did as it made you feel better but on the days you’re really not feeling it, stay home, protect and look after yourself. Love the lights in the ‘nook’ looks nice and cosy.

···if what you have still doesn't work, maybe the art journal table under the window , mirror on wall behind that to reflect light( we need to fill space with as much light as we can these days😔) and daybed on back wall (again) · maybe add a few large pillows and corner plant next to daybed , to define a relaxation area, otherwise, if you are anything like me, the daybed could become a drop-off station (procrastination station😉)?...just thoughts💕.hope it all comes together for you · sending a ray of sunshine from my heart to yours💛···

I love where the new art journal desk is. I think some mirrors in that L shaped room would be wonderful! Over the day bed to reflect the light back in and somewhere on the wall behind the desk - not where you will be looking at yourself but where you will see the room behind you reflected. This could be any shape - they even have those long squiggle mirrors or??? I'm sure you can think of something more artistic than I could. I think mirrors would add nice dimension to that room. The daybed now looks like a cozy place to hang out.
Please hang in there and thank you so much for your videos. I watch for them!

I LOVE the new placement of the art journal table and daybed! The rounded headboard of the daybed near the oval office table allow for a nice movement of energy. The sharp edges of the table are no longer jutting out into the space. I'm not a Feng Shui expert, but that feels like good movement of Chi there. As others have mentioned, a mirror on or near your art journaling table positioned in such a way that you can see over your shoulder when you're working could be a great fix. At my old job, I had a cubicle where people could sneak up behind me and startle me (as I get VERY engrossed in my work sometimes). I just had a small 7" cosmetic mirror on a pedestal that could be tilted just right so that I could see who/what was behind me. I love how your studio is taking shape. I look forward to watching its evolution. Love the lights and plants and now I'm inspired to overhaul my creative space. I ALSO have to sit in all the different places in the room when I'm rearranging things. At least HALF of my process is the looking and the contemplating of it all. Do you think James could do some long-distance DIY training for my hubby? ;-) Love, love, love your channel. I feel like I have a dear friend in the UK whenever I'm watching and sharing a cuppa. Waving from near Chicago! XOXO

I also think the new setup is better. Your sweet daybed was buried down in that corner. You need a resting place that allows you to soak up all the creative energy. Now the journaling nook soars up that back wall and creative energy rolls back out to the rest of the room. Love your honesty.

My only morning that I can do anything I want is usually Saturday. Like many I have to walk my dog for an hour and a half every morning and a sniffy half hour after lunch. It really gets me going, but also stops me having a leisurely morning routine. But it's great to be out in the fields come rain, shine, hail or snow!
