What really worries me is that they still can't fill the stadium up even when it's a semi final again another new zealand side. I'm getting a bit worried for next years super rugby.
They need to accept that ticket prices are too high to compete with the quality of broadcast available in your living rooms.
Super rugby is dead. Either it needs to go, massive change to the competition or they should just let their players go play in Europe and stick to local competitions
To be honest, what's going on? I mean, its the semis with the Crusaders and Canes, probably a NZ classic match up at this point? Are prices too high? Demand to low? It's disheartening as a Super Rugby fan since the 90's to see the level of interest seemingly wane at this point :(
Crusaders have a healthy fan base, but the worst stadium....simple as that.
I'm from Glasgow and love super rugby but seeing teams play in empty stadiums particularly South Africa and Australia is really sad to see.

The penultimate play was just bad reffing. Whitelock has his hands in the ruck and knocks it on and they call it against TJ and hand Crusaders the game. Dissapointed we didn't get to see what might have happened in the final moments.

Now that is what a semi final should look like. Both teams went at each other hammer and tongs - score line was nail-bitingly close. Well done to both teams - brilliant rugby! I think that the All Black selectors are going to have a joyous time choosing the world cup squad - should mostly come from these to incredibly good teams - I'd take their coaches too if I had any say in the matter. It really looks like NZ will be world champs again this WC. I just get to love the Crusaders more and more with each game they play.
All I can say is the Crusaders know how to finish what they started.

empty what? only the stand behind one of the dead ball areas (it looks like it's closed). Super Rugby attendance is constanly decreasing a bit in recent years (expecially in South Africa) but they still bring more people to the stadium than all 3 major Euro comps. Super Rugby is played in medium to big Test Rugby size stadiums. Not in small venues like Bath, Dragons or Glasgow, just three examples.
Just 2 much Rugby, just 2 much sport actually, u miss something 1 week and then u just move on2 d next week where u will find another 10 events to watch...

Partidazo... innecesario ensuciarlo con esa última jugada. Muy muy mal el arbitraje (tmo incluido). Fue un penalazo (mete alevosamente la mano en el ruck y eso genera el knock on). Es jugada definitoria y clarísimo penal...encima tener que leer toda esa pavada sacrosanta de que no se puede opinar de los arbitrajes. Parece que están repitiendo un mantra

Keiran Read has really became a liability for the Crusaders. Slow to get to the rucks and couldn't even held on to a kick off wich ultimately resulted in a Hurricanes try. But nonetheless, great second half from Canes. Well done Crusaders.
I'd like to see Akira Ioane finally given his chance for the ABs, but knowing them, they'll pick the magnificently boring Luke Whitelock.
Michaelangelo I think Ione could do some damage if he comes off the bench in the last 20, especially if things starts to open up. I don't think Whitelock will make the cut.
I think Hansen will take Squire, Cane, Reid, Frizell and Savea to Japan. We'll have to wait and see.

Great game...I was actually behind the Canes in the end (as a Sader supporter), but it would have been a travesty considering the Canes crappy strategy of kicking the ball away in the first half.

For a country where rugby is the national sport and this is the semis and they can't even fill a small enough stadium. Compare that matches between Leinster and Munster where they almost filled a 55k stadium just for regular pro 14 league match. These clubs and super rugby are doing something drastically wrong as the rugby itself is good

a closer match than expected with the canes showing some huge fight and skills but just out thought by the crusaders with barrett systematically outplayed .... interesting nz ab selection going forward for #10 .... agree with woozwooz that a match of this calibre should never have banks and banks of empty seats .... this means the economics of attending are all wrong ..... why not give out tickets to all the local schools to come in their full supporters kit to make it a real festival of rugby ? .... with respect to sanzaar this is why the world championship project fell flat because the northern hemisphere props up the coffers with the lions tour already and the 6 nations is great and those unions do not want to play more games simply to fill the sanzaar coffers particularly when "spreading" the game was a nonsense with so many tier 2 counties were ignored .... back to the drawing board .... looking forward to the final now with the mighty jaguares !

In Argentina clubs get discounts for the super rugby games and as such it's always crowded with youngsters

It was a very entertaining game right until the end! You have to give credit to the fight the Hurricanes gave. Did anyone notice that Whitelock had his hands on the ball causing the hurricanes scrum half to lose it forward at the end? Anyways I'm supporting the Jaguares. They deserve to win.
