I am SO glad these videos are on YT. So tired of always seeing meat on the other channels (won't mention their names). Hope you can visit Xinjiang sometime and show some vegan food - once again, all I see is mutton this, mutton that.

One suggestion about the video: maybe show on a google map/ earth shot where it is (at first I thought you were in Yunnan itself, couldn't read the text so quickly)
Thanks for the feedback! I always put the address in the description too. Google doesn't work so well in China, and the working maps here are all in Chinese, so I didn't think it would be so helpful to the English-speaking audience.

No, this is just a traditional Yunnan restaurant. While there is meat on the menu, there are soooo many delicious veggie, mushroom and tofu dishes!
@@veganinchina Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't speak a lick of Mandarin so it'll be safer for me to eat elsewhere during my October visit.
@@huiiugiiuyyiu8 Lots of great options! If you do want something with a modern vibe, I recommend Ori. They are a vegetarian Sichuan restaurant with an English menu, and unlike many other Chinese veg places, also cook with garlic and onion and serve alcohol :)

You forget to disclose the total amount of money for these delicious cuisine. Im not a 100% vegan but eating vegan food give me a happy feeding that no one need to suffer for my meal.
I think this meal was about 150 RMB. I'll try to remember to put the price in for future videos, still new to this CZcams game 😂

"Tong" in Chinese means gangs. Hutongs are infested by gangs who will mug you! 🤣🤣🤣. Don't go. 😂😂😂
Much more likely to get hit by an anxious delivery driver than run into any gangs in Beijing 😂

@@veganinchina Everyone's life is tough. Food delivery couriers earn about $0.6 per delivery, so they need to deliver to many customers each day to support their families. Additionally, food delivery companies in China have high standards for delivery timeliness, which is different from Western countries. In China, the service industry places a strong emphasis on punctuality. For instance, trains are expected to arrive on time, and restaurants often use hourglasses to indicate the time customers should expect to receive their food. As a result, food delivery couriers are always very busy.

@veganinchina MY friend is a meat lover. He went to yunan for mushrooms and he said he can be vegetarian if he lives in Yun nan
@@carloskevin6145 honestly, China has so many great veggie options, I think it's one of the best places for this lifestyle! And Yunnan cuisine is definitely one of my favourites!
