Always great presentations. And a priviledge to meet your Dad, the man who no doubt played a huge part in your expertise in mechanics. A big salute to you both.
Don't you think she looks prettier.
This is the first time I’ve found comprehensive tutorials on 4020 repair. This is a great resource. Thank you.
Rachel, always like your videos, Hats off to your parents for raising such a amazing young lady
Hi, Rachel.
You're looking great as always.
It is really good that you are teaching your dad how to fix tractors but it will be a long while before he
reaches your level of knowledge. You are a really good teacher.
I look forward to your next video.
Great seeing you and your father work together. Can see you inspire each other!
Great video as always Rachel and warms an old mans heart to see you working with your Dad.
Thank you for the videos Rachel! You and your dad make a great team...
No matter how hard I look around for information on my tractor. Your videos are always of the most help! If you’ve got any hidden secrets for more horse power on these old deeres. Do share!
Always very informative and easy to follow Thank you
I found for installing engine heads make up some guide bolt. Take old head bolts, cut off the bolt head and then round off the shaft where the bolt head was cut off. Install the guide bolts, slide the head gasket down on the bolts and slowly lower the engine head. Unscrew the guide bolts and proceed as normal with the head bolt install.
I have used that on many a Cat and Waukesha engine, it just makes life easier and you do not have to worry as much about damaging the head gasket.
Good video!
Enjoy watching your repair videos. Keep up the great work!
You are such an awesome person Rachel , such a good mechanic ,, you go girl , love all of your videos keep up the good work and God bless !!!

Top vai ficar exelente com essa revisão
Lots of commits about wearing gloves. I like the Gingells, also find it nearly impossible to handle small parts with gloves on. Of course wear them when cleaning with strong solvent. One tip that I was taught by my shop teacher. Before starting to work with clean hands. Rub a little go-jo or similar into your hands. Helps keep them from chapping, easier to wash when done.
Dan and Rachel, u are both old school blacksmiths! When u repair Valmet tractor...i know, Valmet tractor no need repair. ;D
Nice, thank you!!!
Great video !;-)
Good job
Very nice
Just an FYI, when you're installing the valves into the guides use rear axle ( diff. ) oil, it contains a large amount of lead and will lubricate the valve stem well past the break in period.
Bout time pops came out of retirement and got his hands dirty ;-) As always, good presentation gang.
Rachel u are amazing at what you do your husband is a very lucky man
If I have a Tractor 🚜 She would definitely gonna be my personal Mechanic Has a Lovely smile too
Would you do a video on a 2140 head gasket and valve adjustment
Beautiful.... 😍😍😍😍
Good job ji 👍🇮🇳🚜🚜
very nine your video Hi🖐👍👌
Hi Rachel. Why not use a countersink bit to remove the burr from the valve guide? Also can't you use the rule of 9 for setting valve clearances ie set #1 with #8 on full lift etc. ?
I would like to see how to get the oil pump out of a JD 50 tractor . Do you have a film on that ? I like your show very much .
Dear hope you are good.
Could you comment on stanadyne rotary fuel injection pump timing?
Should we lock timing once aligned pump cam mark with weight retainer hub?
Oil is the number 1 cause of head gasket failure so make sure you clean both head and deck very well
I like your videos and would like to know if you have any for John Deere M's?
How did you rotate the engine . did you used the starter , our did you used wrench on front of engine?
Do you work on the john deere 1010 series tractor, such as the engine rebuild, thanks bill.
Do you have a video on aJohn Deere 4 cylinder diesel valve adjustment
How many hours did you operate the 3020 before the overhaul shown here?My uncle had a 4020 in NY State .
I just bought a 1967 Massey 2135. Do you stock MF parts for 135/2135? I did see the vid you did on a MF hydraulic pump, so I'm guessing I shouldn't have trouble getting parts from your website Rachel. Very helpful videos, thank you.
How do you know when your on the compression stroke?
Hi Rachel, informative video. I have a D-17 AC, and need a carb kit. I didn’t see it on the list attached to your link. I want to help your store to keep the videos coming and get you the % of $. Am I doing something wrong with the link or website. Please be patient with the older generation, ha ha.
Hows this JD run now?
Have you all ever thought about doing a Oliver 77 we have one on the farm that we used when I was a kid and would like to rebuild it for my dad it hasn’t run for 15 year after it got water in the cylinders and we just put it out back and at the time I was to young to fix it.But would like to now for him. It green just not jd green
Keep in mind, there could be a difference between "wet" and "dry" torque values.
Word of caution -- I replaced the head gasket on a JD 2750. A very similar engine, but diesel. I learned the hard way that the head bolts should not be dripping with oil like yours were. I'm not sure how you escaped the problem that I encountered.
I dipped my head bolts in motor oil, immediately dropped them in their respective holes, and proceeded to torque them down. Unknown to me, the excess oil was wiped off as the bolt was screwed into the block threads. That resulting puddle of oil seeped out around the head gasket and appeared on the outside of the engine. This oil contamination of the head gasket is an obvious problem. This mistake cost me a head gasket, as I had to remove the head again, clean both the block and the head, and reinstall with a new gasket. This time, I just drizzled a little oil on the bolts, and let them drip on a towel for a minute before installing in the engine.
Question ... What is the reason that you did not lap the valves ? I was taught that the valves should be lapped to get a positive seat to valve contact. Thank You for your tutorials ... wonderful teaching on all your videos
Carl Boehm , actually valve lapping is not a good practice. Valve and seats should have a one degree difference which is called interference angle. For example for a 45 degree valve you grind the valve at 44 and the seat at 45.
@@johnboyington3456 thank you for the explanation and answer ... I will be doing the valves on my Ford 2N and also on my Ford 300 six ... I was going to get the lapping compound but now I can reconsider that
Can I buy parts for you guys needing a rocker arm for a 3010 gas
Please help , 😁 I have a 2010 jd, the handle for the 3point will not move at all , any help is greatly appreciated thank you
Are you from Rhode island
Have you considered changing the channel name to Farm Tractor Repair? I think it makes a more congruent marketing strategy. I wan't you guys to be as successful as possible.
vv good from paistan i am mechik
How bout a total rebuild on a JD z225?
Does this tractor in 3010 gas version have cylinder liners or a solid bore? I am looking at one that is getting coolant in the oil but is very cheap to buy.
3010 gas tractors have liners. An engine rebuild is a little costly on these models, so calculate the cost of the engine rebuild into your offered price on the tractor.
@@DanGingell The tractor comes with a loader and is running and is going to cost me $1000.
From where to lock?
We want to hear it run after the repair.
Plz tell me drop setting
I am from India , I have international harvester b275 with IDI , can you have video tutorial to repair that one .
Clicking, chirping and hard to start. SO..... they came right from the factory with valve issues?
Do you know how to repair powershift of john Deere4955?please com to iran
How much for y’all to come down here and fix mine?
Do an Oliver tractor repair. 😀
Is a john deer 20/20 and a 20/30 basically the same tractor.
The light in your eyes could inspire a caveman to rebuild a Saturn 5 rocket!
Don't the valves, and seats have to be lapped?
Actually, no. The valves should be ground at a one degree difference from the seat. For example with 45 deg valves the seat is ground at 45 and the valve at 44.
Always use a brass hammer to drive those guides in.
I would not aim that drill bit at my left hand when reaming that valve guide.
Dear Rachel please wear gloves to protect your hands from the grease and oil. It's not good health-wise. Love the channel. Thanks.
I really love all the videos, but you need to move up to tractors like the John Deere 4240 or that era . That will help a few million farmers 😀
