Happy New Year, DIY Family! t's time for another episode of: PINTEREST MADE ME DO IT!!!! (it's been awhile!). I wanted my first project of 2022 to be something that would challenge me BUT excite me at the same time. The solution? This adorable diy rustic curved bench that I've literally been pinning FOREVER. I didn't have much to work with (literally this photo), but I think I managed to create something pretty cute considering all the elements I had working against me!
This was such a fun build, I highly suggest giving it a go if you love diy furniture builds. 💜

Oh honey I am so proud of you 🥳❣️❣️❣️ You made the most beautiful looks completely like an antique piece that you purchased amazing shape and structural bench in all times 🤭❣️❣️❣️ This is coming from one of your viewers who is 52 years old, and I was a decorator designer on and off for about 20 years. I'm only telling you this because I am truly truly impressed with the way this turned out, with how beautiful it is and I am just in awe of your ability to create such a amazing piece. That I would definitely put in my house anytime any day 💯💝❣️ The only other comment I have is you have got to stop saying it's not perfect 🤨 If it was perfect it would look like it came out of a manufactured facility that makes hundreds of them 🤭 You do not want a piece that is this beautiful and reminiscent to a antique to ever ever look "PERFECT"❣️❣️❣️ You want those small handmade imperfections that show that a human being made this with their own two hands and not some machine, which is exactly how it looks and exactly how you want it to look ❣️❣️❣️❣️ So no more saying it doesn't look perfect 🧐 we don't want perfect we want original handmade beautiful amazing design bench and that is what you have created 💯😍💯👍💯😲💯👏👏👏❣️

This is my first time commenting, I've been a huge fan of your videos and your humour always brightens my day!
I love diy but have been really unwell for a long time. I have chronic pain and it's stopped me doing so many things.
This year I'm determined to do something fun and productive for myself. I have so many ideas and lists of things to try.
Going to make the most of any good days and enjoy the little moments too.
I usually knit to keep my hands busy (my attempt at trying not to snack😂😂) Its usually a big scarf or blanket and my cat watches and waits until I've made a long enough section for him to sit on, as I'm still knitting!
He's taken possession of every blanket and jumper of mine anyway, but he too cannot resist a new craft.
Danie thank you so much for making your videos, they really make a huge impact on my day, so much positivity and energy.
When ever you "boop" the camera in your intro- I do that on my cats nose😂😂😂😂 its a habit that I do whenever I walk past him now❤

Angie (professional furniture refurbisher) from Transcend Furniture Gallery says that the finer you sand, the less the stain penetrates the wood. Wasn't sure what look you were going for, but I noticed you went very fine with the sanding. Having said that, the piece is stunning. Great job once again Danie. And remember, perfect is overrated.

Good call on making a mock-up! Since you've recently started sewing, I'll let you in on a secret: the same goes for sewing garments! First you make a mock-up garment out of an inexpensive fabric/old t-shirt/bedsheet and then once you solve all the fitting issues, you transfer them onto the pattern and sew the actual thing. Funny to see that method mirrored in DIY world :)
This with that bouclé fabric that’s super trendy right now would be amazing!

I just love this, Danie! This and the cabinet (I don't think that's the right word) you made for your living room (three shelves, rounded at the ends, spindles with upholstery tacks). Those are my two favorite pieces that you've made, so far.
