And cried in 2022
But all the African people loved it

It's nice to see teams from all six continents advance to the last 16, first time it's ever happened
Especially Japan, they beat 2 football powerhouses and kick one of them out.
What about Antarctica fc?

Australia qualifies from Asia, so technically 5 continents
This world cup is the most competitive it’s been. There isn’t a team whose won all 3 matches and qualify with 9 points. That shows you that the underdogs are performing.
Knockout stages would definitely be crazy to watch.
Agree but there is a reason for this too.
Why should a team go for the 9 points when they know they are group leaders and quality for the next round. So the urge to play for a win diminishes.
@@vicktr9601 but why it didnt happen in 2014 2018 world cup then.
Nah it is more like teams are willing to lose a game if they already guaranteed a spot.
@@hellothere-us7iw how is that different from precious years?
Plus, the two most succesful teams from Europe are gone: Italy did not make it, Germany got already eliminated. Add Uruguay and you have the winners of 10 World Cups gone. That is almost 50% of the total tournaments.
Was so happy to see Korea go through. Son is one of my favorite players, he came through with an assist at the end to get Korea through the next round.
Who? Robbin
You mean South Korea. I hope you realize that North Korea has also played in the World Cup before.
Observations
1. The Darwin one was a penalty for sure.
2. Cavani flopped.
3. Cavani missed like 5 opportunities to score a goal or assist inside 20 minutes. His decision making is awful. One if the most overrated players ever.
4. But You can't hope to get bailed by the refs. Uruguay had chances to close the deal and did not. They did not DESERVE to qualify. They did not play well vs South Korea and Portugal. They got conservative.
5. That Being Said South Korea did not deserve to qualify either. They were the worst team of the group and will get destroyed by Brasil. Just got lucky Portugal had secured the qualification and did not care much.
6. Luis Suarez is not finished. He is better than many strikers in Europe. He still got something left and can play in the Champions League. Not the player he once was(was one of the very best) ever but he can still play some.
7. With the way football s played nowadays you got to go for the throat. Got to be aggressive. Conservative style of play doesn't bring success anymore. That era is over.
@@realtalk6195 you knew what he meant..
Ghana was like we're going home but we're also taking u home Uraguay 🤣🤣
Ha! Beautiful.
Son suffered an eye fracture and wore a mask that covered his vision and was criticized for sluggishness throughout 3 games, but with 7 minutes left at the end, he saved Korea with a magical pass and proved that he was an EPL Golden Boot.
I was saying to my Korean wife why don't they pull Son? I'm glad no one listened to me. Dramatic and fantastic pass and strike.

I honestly think this had been the most exciting WC group stage of all time
It's not.
I like it so far as well, really great games
I agree
I've been watching all these games and even the last group strage matches at the same time, and that's when you saw immense drama. Every single goal scored on each game instantly changed the result / outcome of every team. It's been absolutely insane! These upsets are wild! Two world champions have been eliminated. Not a single team got to 9 points, the only 3 undefeated teams are England, Netherlands and MOROCCO. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
@@dirtydingo250 i think the games have more intensity because the players were in the middle of the club football season, with constant intense games and training every week and then straight into World Cup they will carry that intensity with them and also be more tactically adept
Congratulations South Korea 🇰🇷

I heard the Korean broadcast of the winning goal and it might be my favorite call ever 😆
South Korea game is really nice. They play like they can win every game! And their diagonal cross is so lethal and on point.
Teams like Uruguay, Belgium and Germany who in their arrogance obviously came to the tournament thinking that the group stage would be a walk over, got a nasty surprise because the socalled "little" teams played better than they expected. There is no reason for them to complain after the third match when they didn't do anything in the first two games to deserve getting further. The only team I really feel sorry for was Canada, they played so well that they deserved far better than being last in their group.
True. Canada was hungry for a win...but just missed out on the final third.....may they go far in the WC 2026 with home advantage.
Can u please provide evidence of their arrogance? They clearly performed poorly, though losing is not evidence of arrogance.
None of these team are arrogant but Ghana. Trash talking the whole world that they would take their revenge. Gave up after 22 minutes. Put worst performance in this WC. Pathetic.

This is sports…while Uruguay cries and whines because something wasn’t given to them, Korea is advancing because they scored a sublime goal in extra time.
Make your own path…
You mean South Korea. You do realize that North Korea has played in the World Cup before, right?
The Uruguay manager is banging on about that penalty to shift blame from himself. Uruguay took their foot completely off the gas in the second half before the second South Korea goal. And whose fault is that? Oh that's right, the Uruguay manager's fault. Uruguay had their own destiny in their hands and let it slip through their fingers because they didn't push for more insurance goals, just in case South Korea came back and pulled ahead of Portugal. Blaming the officiating from the previous match is just blowing smoke to CYA the manager's own mismanagement.
The thing is though that despite all of Uruguay’s mistakes, you can’t take away the fact that they where objectively knocked out because of a referee decision. U can sit here and say that they didn’t deserve to go through because they didn’t show passion, didn’t play well and so on, but again, that doesn’t take away from the fact that refereeing decisions where the reason why they’re knocked out. Though complaining about it isn’t going to do anything
Absolutely right. German got nothing to regret. They went full gear for 110 minutes to get 8 goals. Sadly post didnt like them. Uruguay, didnt do that. They only got themselves to be blame.
Yup, they just bet on Portugal beating S. Korea and thought they could advance regardless.
Frank is comedic relief, you guys need to have him in the studio more often. Nedum is the voice of reason.
Hero Son!
Standard lower most players play week in week out together but I would say styles are very similar in identity. Depth in squad should produce the winner
Ghana were terrible and both of them deserves to go out. Big congratulations to Asian teams in this world cup and also there's possibility teams from all the continents could play in the quarter finals
I definitely agree!
Agreed. Really disappointed with the way Ghana played in the last game against Uruguay. They blew their golden opportunity.
Uruguay lost because of 1st two games where they never tried to attack, which is the fault of the manager but also the attack was an absolute disaster. This game, Suarez played much better & Nunez was somewhat decent... 1st two games, the attack was horrendous. The tactics were horrible too.
Agree. korea should have won
Never tried to attack? You mean Korea played so well which made uruguay defensive.
Feel sorry for Suarez? He gets paid millions for kicking a ball around ! I feel sorry for the families of the workers who died building the stadiums he played in - they were sent home in boxes, he will go home to his villa and to count his money.
"if they were as committed in the first two games as they were in chasing the referee we wouldn't be having this conversation". brilliant. :D
Both teams deserve to go out seeing how they played against each other. Ghana was the favorite to qualify with Portugal but they seem disinterested to continue with their World Cup campaigin. Uruguay could have guaranteed to qualify if they scored one more goal but they too seem to assume that Portugal would 'take care' of Korea. In the end Korea deserved to go through. They had the lowest chance and they needed to beat the strongest team in the group. But they fought until the last minute to defy the odds.
Couldn’t be happier than to see Uruguay out. Horrible attitudes…
One cannot bench De Arrascaeta for two matches and go unpunished. Uruguay brought this to themselves (the coach, obviously). They should have won against Korea...
Same with Aboubakar for Cameroon. Benched first 2 games, still won them 4 points with 2 goals and an assist. Top scorer, best player. Questionable manager.
So happy to see suarez crying bc of what he has done

Uruguay shouldnt blame on the referee. If thats a foul then you are saying you cant defend at all. They should blame on themselves for playing poor football in first and second games.
If that wasn’t a pk then Ronaldo’s isn’t. Plain and simple.
The problem with VAR is it forces fifa to have to look at rules all over again- what’s a hand ball, what’s offsides when a player is blocking the view of a keeper who is diving the opposite direction (Ecuador vs Netherlands), etc.
VAR hasn’t answered questions- it never has- it brings up more gray areas if anything.
Couldn't have happened to a classier group of individuals. You reap what you sow.

Two shots hit the bar in that game & another one against Portugal.
And remember, Uruguay had 70 minutes to find the 3rd goal while Ghana already well beaten. They should push for killer goal but they didnt do that.
The penalty awarded to Portugal against Uruguay was crazy too. The player had his arm behind his body and the ball went between his legs. There was no intention whatsoever. Uruguay got the raw end of two penalties in two different games.

VAR has been great let’s be honest. There are still some wrong decisions but VAR has significantly reduced the number of wrong decisions.
Suarez blocked a Ghana goal that would have gone in with a handball at the last minute of extra time in the 2010 World Cup. He has never apologized. He has also bitten 3 separate opponents in 2010, 2013, 2014 leaving actual teeth marks on the players. If he had been on the pitch when the whistle blew the refs would have been bitten by him as well 🤣
It's a disgrace this disgraceful man is still playing in any official match not to mention it's in World Cup.
He didn't need to apologise for the handball. The only people that needed to apologise where the Ghanian players who missed the two practically open goals before the handball, Gyan who missed the penalty and the players who missed the penalties in the shootout.
He doesn't need to apologise for doing what even Ghanaian players admitted they would've done in the same situation. The biting incidents have nothing to do with anything, it's just boring because every idiot is trying to make the same lame jokes.
@@FreshAlchemy Everyone just felt bad because an African team failed like they always do. Hopefully Morocco can go far. I would say Senegal but I'm English. I'm sorry for Uruguay's elimination as much as Germany's, they were having a good performance until Alonso (Uruguayan coach) made the wrong substitutions. So, how dare you to sack Suarez, and De Arrascaeta off the pitch? a football manager like Alonso can do something like that. As a result, he got fired from Uruguay national football team because he wanted to hold a result instead of keep attacking.
Even on the penalty against Portugal, Gimenez is not Innocent. When Bruno touches the ball Gimenez is standing. He goes down in a fraction of a second. If you try to put your hand on the floor behind you of course you fall.
