I'm taking YOU into the stores shopping for vinyl records WITH ME. You'll be there AS I FIND COOL RECORDS. I'll show you how I do it. How to find places to find vintage vinyl records. I'll show you what to look for. How to thrift for records like a pro. How to find cool used vinyl records for a fraction of the price. Much cheaper than Discogs. You'll be there as i find a bunch of great vinyl records at an Antique Mall. Secondhand stores can be a great place to find records for much cheaper than online.

Congrats TUCO on that keep it for life Marantz Amp. Hopefully you know that you scored major league with this one. They can sell for up to two thousand bucks. It can put out much more than 90 per side, with the cleanest sound. You also found a secret stash in the back room. Always ask the person who goes in and out of the closed back door. The sign TUCO, the sign. What is the name of that sign TUCO? You go first Blondie! Ok! The name is....EMPLOYEES ONLY !!! This is where you might find the gold. Another pro tip given to me many years ago. Take care and ☮️.
Yes! I saw the amp in the ad for the estate sale! I went specifically for that! When the doors opened, we rushed straight to the stereo equipment and claimed them! I got the amp, and my brother got the tuner. Neither of us bought the turntable because neither of us needed it, and I think they wanted $400? Right after we got to the stereo, someone else showed up wanting it...so we got there just in the nick of time!
I'm listening on headphones, and when I heard that sound at 3:23 I almost jumped out of my chair! Those records at the first stop looked like they were in fantastic condition. My struggle is that I'm always tempted to pick up records just for the cover, even when I know I'll never listen to them!!

This is the equivalent of hiking to a river in a remote location to look for bits of gold in the sand. This is the source of many of the old vinyl I find in my country (Costa Rica) . No vinyl no matter how old or banged up is sold here for less than 10 usd, most mainstream 1970-80 s vinyl in decent condition are around 16-30 usd here and probably they came from these cheap bins.

It was a free download of royalty-free music. It's called Cryptic Scenery - Interstate. I don't know which is the artist and which is the song title.

I ALWAYS make way for the dollar and “cheapo” bins in any well-stocked record store, because that’s where you’re most likely to find the decades-out-of-print material that has zero chance of ever being seen again. Yes, you have to plow through the Mantovani junk and lots of it, but this is where just about all the exotica, space age bachelor pad, classic country and bluegrass, bad twist albums, budget label hilarity and all the bizarre religious work goes to die. And a chunk of it is better than you’d think. Tuco, a tip; if you have to crouch on your knees again for records stored vertically on a bottom shelf, just take a handful, pull them out and do the “flip” method before putting them back. You’ll film the covers a lot better plus you won’t miss any hidden gems. And check the sleeved records without covers! Keep it coming, Tuco!
Yeah! I've seen someone else flip through records like that...and i thought to myself "i should do it that way" ...but i never seem to remember to do it when the time comes!

It was actually one that didn't sell in our dollar sale. The rejects went to the thrift store.
5:58 Wow, some great scores, Tuco! That Raymond Scott stereo test record looks interesting and as you may know, a lot of Raymond Scott's music was used in Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoons from the 30's to the 60's. Carl Stalling, the composer/orchestrator/conductor for a lot of those cartoons often used Raymond Scott's music and the tune "Powerhouse' would sound very familiar, I'm sure, and was used in Chuck Jones-directed cartoons like 'Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century' (1953).
I have a 10-inch record of Raymond Scott's best known works as well as two CD's of his music. :)

I did my best TUCO impersonation today and picked up a copy of 1968 Esquivel!! while thrifting!!!!😁
U need 2 do more videos on cd’s….just like u I luv the hunt for cd’s like u do 4 vinyl….I’ve been a cd guy since 81 / 82 & have never looked back !!!! Just can’t beat the sound quality of cd & never have 2 worry about snap crackle pop & skips & never have 2 worry wen buying used vinyl or even brand new vinyl that it still might skip…..like I said I haven’t bought vinyl since 81 / 82 since I bought my 1st cd’s & CD player then in fact I’m still using the same CD player I bought in 81 / 82…by 84 I was able 2 replace all my vinyl with cd’s which at that time I probably had 500 + lp’s….keep it up !!!!!
Machine Head is a great find, especially that clean, and the US copy is generally the one we had back in the day !! 🎵
Yeah! That was a nice upgrade for me!!! I love Deep Purple, so it's nice to upgrade to such a clean copy of a first pressing!

Great haul. Waikiki Records put out quite a few sweet old school Hawaiian albums..that one’s in great condition. So, that’s a beard?? I’ve always thought of it as an extended mustache..anyway, congratulations!🎉

Yeah, my taste is all over the place! I get bored with the same thing over and over again, so I'm always looking for new things to listen to!
@@VinylHunter yeah me too I have every type of music there is. But I really enjoy finding new music and playing it in my car or my home. I just bought 2 sauder media shelves for my CDs I already have two plus a bunch of others. They will be stacked from the floor to within inches of my ceiling. I call it my wall of sound and eventually I can set up my hifi and enjoy my music my therapy.
30:30 Some of the livelier music of that 'Fantasy Pipe Organ and Percussion' album would be perfect for a horror movie set in a funhouse (like the horror movie called 'Funhouse'. Haha!). :)
Congrats on the Marantz amplifier and 8-tracks. I don't think I've ever seen 8-tracks with UPC barcodes.
I would have grabbed the Louis Prima Blue Moon album that was behind the Rejects "punk" record. I'm a big Louis Prima fan, and don't remember seeing that album before.
Thanks! Yes, I'm super happy with the Marantz! A big upgrade for me! Believe it or not, they made 8 Tracks well into the 80s, but they were only available through record clubs. Those 'record club only' tapes can fetch big bucks! I've got a couple Louis Prima records! Actually pretty fun! I'll have to listen again and see if i feel like i need more.

i flipped through a lot of vinyl over the years and every store i checked had herb alpert, barbra streisand and 101 strings.

30:30 I highly recommend that 'Fantasy Pipe Organ and Percussion' record and another volume as well. Despite the rumour that Anton Lavey, the founder of the Church of Satan, was performing on the organ, his daughter said he was a pathological liar and charlatan and he did NOT play the organ for that record (according to the liner notes of a CD of the album which I own). Still, it is great and two tunes that stand out are 'In A Persian Market' by Ketelby and 'Danse Macabre' by Liszt, but I'm not sure if they are featured on that album or the other volume.

I had to get that Les Baxter off discos. Excellent score. I stopped by my stores $2 bin location yesterday and picked up 34 albums. No great scores of course but for $2 you can take a chance.

I actually played basketball with Jim Sadist and King Fowley of Deceased once! In Chicago...King walked door to door asking strangers if they had a basketball we could borrow!
@@VinylHunter Jim had another band Schnauzer and every late December, them and the band Punching Moses would do an end of the year show with the local Krampus contingent. They would throw out wrapped thrift store records into the audience that were altered with pornography. They were pretty fun shows.

Another TUCO event! Well, it appears that anything that might have been exciting was gone from those first 2 places but the Les Baxter LP (and cover!) saved the day at the 1st stop! You tossed aside that HIT Record 45 so fast I couldn't see what it was - I found that quite a few of their remakes are quite good - in fact I like some better than the originals! ...I would have also bought that Rejects LP just because it's bizarre - a wall-hanger if nothing else! ...The book/record store seemed to have mostly meh common stuff - saw very little in interesting LPs but I don't know the Kane Roberts LP but looks good. The $2 LPs you had to get on the floor for were mostly what I call dumpster dumpers - that's where they go when I buy large lots and you gotta take the bad with the good. I don't donate them because then I have to see them again! ...As for Beethovens 5th movement - I heard it caused quite a stink!

@@VinylHunter A great garage/R&R 45 on the HIT label is "Keep On Dancing" by The Gentrys - an error where they accidently used the real original band's name but actually a different and also a very good version! VERY hard to find - I see there are a few listed on discogs. HIT Records - yes, a waaay-cool rabbit hole which I fell waaay down in!
I shall keep on the lookout now!

That is the worst budget section of any HPB that I have ever seen. Decent 8 track finds though...and a WB Green Machine Head ain't bad
