    banana fritters, or known as "pisang goreng" is a Malaysian fav teatime snacks
    my mom always buy me some for teatime during my primary school era (except during that time, the choc and cheese variety is not that popular yet)

    • @GLOBIK
      @GLOBIK  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah. Fried bananas are a common snack in many countries. The added cheese, oreo crumbs and chocolate syrup is what makes it weird.

    If I recall correctly, this cheese + banana fritters combo came from Indonesia. Then it morphed into a this platter that was drowning in condensed milk and all kinds of toppings. I'm not complaining but my overworked heart is 😂 I was weirded out at first too, but like any Malaysian, I embraced food with gusto. I like the regular cheese and fried banana combo best though, the amount of sweetness and saltiness is just right.

    • @GLOBIK
      @GLOBIK  Před 2 lety

      I see. This one didn't have much condensed mix. It was a good balance of sweet and salty.

    • @GLOBIK
      @GLOBIK  Před 2 lety +1

      It is definitely weird. It's all subjective.
      If you put it this way, someone could say that adding fish and veggies is just creativity... Then nothing in the world can be considered weird.

    Can't say I've had that combo with the fried banana with cheese and chocolate but when I was a kid,my dad would eat a banana with a slice of American cheese and every so often I'll do it in memory of him as he's passed away since. Seriously folks give that a shot,Banana and slice of American cheese.

    Sorry, it isnt that weird at all. Offensive to me to say its weird. Its dessert after all and btw you seemed to have enjoyed it! Its ok non asians are entitled to their opinions😅.

    • @GLOBIK
      @GLOBIK  Před 2 lety

      First, the word "weird" is not an offensive word. You might want to look up the definition.
      Second, everyone has the right to have their own opinions. Being Asian or not is totally irrelevant.
