Are you planning on neutering the little male? It's VERY important that he be neutered if he's going to be a buddy for your little doe. You don't want an intact buck living with your does full time. Not sure how old they are but look into what is a good time to do that. Nigerian Dwarves can breed when they're crazy young (Read: too young) it's a balancing act of making sure he can't breed your doe vs. not neutering him too young (increased risk of urinary stones). When I was doing research to feed lambs, I learned that holding the bottle vertical will encourage them to suckle properly by mimicking the angle they would naturally feed from. With ruminants, it also helps with proper digestion. 😊

If you have a dog crate you could put inside their area it would help them stay warm, a stall within a stall. We have 8 Nigerian dwarfs and the little ones like to cuddle with each other stay warm. 24 hr access to hay is very important for their rumen and warmth.
Just found your video and love them. I watch a lot of videos on chickens and a lot of them soak their feed for seversl reasons. better for digesting and keeps them from waisting it.

I know nothing about goats and I am so happy you decided to get some because we really want to get some too. But what I do know is that they like to climb a lot so adding stumps or maybe building them a structure where they can climb will be very nice 😊

We have had goats for a couple years now, and yes it is a big learning curve. I have learned a lot from Deborah Niemann. She has a YT channel and website, Thrifty Homesteader. She has been raising Nigerian dwarf goats for over 20 years and is very passionate about educating others.
I would also be willing to answer any questions you may have. I don’t know everythingn but I can share what I have learned.

I enjoy the goats my family got in October. We just jumped into it 3 weeks after buying a house. Probably could have planned better, but it all has worked out and now we just let them out and mow down our acre. My girls just love hanging out with me as I work around the property. Hope it all works out well for you and the goatie goats!

Goats like to jump on things. Put some little stumps or benches for them to play on
They also hate getting wet. Put some sort of bench platform in the coop for when it's raining.

Congratulations on your new babies. They will need things to run and jump on and climb on so they don't climb on you get some tractor tires for some four wheel drive tires and bury half of them in the dirt so they can climb over so they run up

So i had to add my rooster to my piglet pen due to him "over breeding" with my hens. He spent the night out there in his own coop. So far so good. And he cleans up and keep bugs down. Pray it works. And im so happy for u with the goats.
Congrats on your nigerian dwarves!!! I have several, and i loooove them. Rocky (if he isn't wethered), and Cici will need to be separated at 12 weeks (if not sooner, depending on Rocky's very male behaviors). Nigerians cycle like humans, and you dont want accidents. You can also use whole milk as well with baby goats. Lots of people i know will do 50% goat milk and 50 whole milk before moving to whole milk.
Goats feel things with their lips like we do our hands. So "eating" straw is them feeling it. Eating everything is a lie. 😅 goat health is a juggling act- theyre fine until they're not. Goats also need roughage to keep their rumen health (hay). Hay pellets won't cut it. Males also have different dietary needs vs. males. Look up urinary calculi. They'll also need loose minerals (not blocks, their teeth can't handle it). Goats are also browsers, not grazers. If you have any questions, you're more than welcome to reach out. I'd rather answer allllll the questions than have you have a sad experience.
You do not need at barn. But with their size and the super low temps you may want to bring them in your house. I have 10 goats now and I had to bring my two 4 month olds into the house with the wet and warm
Also since I see they’ve been disbudded they’re prolly old enough switch to just regular milk. But it also doesn’t need to be warmed. Unless that’s the only way they’ll drink it. Goats are picky eaters actually. Get hay for them to eat. Also start stocking up on dewormers if you’re going to use them. Get some b12 injectable.

Congrats on those sweet babies!!!!! I was so excited when I saw this video. But definitely a very important thing is make sure they have loose mineral free choice. And dont give them grain esp when their young. Just hay. Especially be careful with the lil buck or wether im not sure. Grain can give then stones. Hay pellets are fine when they are alil older. Have a blast. Im living through you right now!!!!! ❤❤❤

Congrats again and welcome to the club! 🤝 I'm looking forward to all the goat content coming. We use regular whole milk if we need to bottle feed. Many suggest it as second option to goats milk (just something to consider). Those babies will be knocking the bottle out of your hands and sucking it dry in no time. Hope you all are doing well!

If you replace the straw with hay, they will eat it and its roughage they need for their rumen. I did the same thing. Brought home 4 baby goats before I made a fence. I did a ton of reading and watching CZcams.

Hey those are some cute Kids. So I grew up with goats and we feed them every winter. You might want to put a box of some kind into the corner they can climb into and snuggle up in. Careful with the milk, When you change them over the to new milk if they were on momma goat it can give them the scours. You might want to make that a bit on the weak side for the first few days and then full strength. The nipples you are using I have never seen, we used a black nipple that was larger and a bit more rigid. To teach them to drink from the nipple you need to tip it up at a very high angle and hold there little mouth on it and gently put pressure on the nose and chin to show them how to draw from the it. Yes you will have to be patient as they figure it out. TOYS are good to keep them playing. You might want to plan for a super duper strong fence and they will hop over a low one and devore your veggie garden in about 20 minutes flat. No evergreen some can make them really sick or kill them. Hope this helps and have fun. Keep them on the friendly side so the little guy will love to visit with you. To keep them Hydrated we would give them a really warm bottle of water between the milk.

Did you warm the milk? Put it in a pot of hot water for about 10 minutes. I mean you may have and not shown it but just FYI. They are adorable.
True Homesteaders plan better and do not need to travel to the hardware store 3 times/day. They have wood, nails, fencing and most of everything in stock at home.

@@AcresOfAdventure Spend your gas and time savings on spare everything. I live 30 minutes from the nearest town. Become your own hardware store, pharmacy, first aid clinic, gas station, grocery store, etc etc. Stay the course!

Why did you get Kids that weren't weened? Better for the kids to be weened and onto regular forage/feed before you take them from their Nanny. Healthier for the goats. Less likely to run into health issues (especially in winter)
If they are siblings you can't bread them together.
Wow, babies in the middle of winter without a proper barn, taken early from mom 🤦♀ Not a great idea. Poor things... And you may just go get what you want and jump right in but it's not fair if it's at the expense of the animals.
I know nothing about goats but it's a shame that whoever sold them should be scolded (that's what i am reading into) not the buyer. I am guessing they are better off at a new home that is trying if the original owner is doing a bad job. Just my opinion. Don't tell me how to raise my kids (get it lol) sorry I have a dry sense of humor. Please no one be offended by my comment not ment to be mean or offensive.
