It's perfect, since both games heavily feature Shadow and both thier selling points rely on him.
If ANYONE asks me. If Sonic 3 gets released everyone's gonna ask for a Shadow Spin Off series or Movie instead of Sonic 4. But if they ever do Sonic 4 it could be the last one if it involves Silver, Blaze, Iblis and Mephiles.

I haven’t even seen the first two Sonic movies but I’m genuinely interested in seeing what they do with Shadow and the SA2 story. SA2/City Escape was my first ever Sonic experience as a kid and I was obsessed with Sonic games for years afterwards, so I’ve got a special place in my heart for it and I hope they do it justice in the third movie.
Even if the trailer isn't at Comic-Con, it could STILL come late July. If not, it's early August. And early August is at the latest in my opinion. I think they've probably finished SOME of the CGI, and that will be the stuff we see in the trailer.

They have had plenty of opportunities to release the trailer at this point; at the screenings of IF(another Paramount movie), on June 23rd a.k.a. Sonic Day, and San Diego Comic-Con. Basically if you want my opinion, Paramount's 100% against the Sonic movie 3 trailer being seen even though there's really no reason why it can't be shown to the public, unless the film's suffered an unexpected delay that we don't know about? Sonic x shadow generations is looking promising. (At least the shadow part), and the dark beginnings animation looked awesome. Guess i should just hope the movie can wrap the year of shadow in a nice little bow.
