Hi Jenny, I would love more book videos! Recommendations are always great and your take on classics for beginners sounds great to me! I cannot wait to see more booktubing from you 😍
Will do!
Would also loveeee a classics list
Would love a classics video. I always like seeing others reviews.
I would love it if you did more theme book lists, like autumn/winter, or rainy days, summer vibes. I love reading books that match my environment.
Oh my goodness, I can really relate to that!
I always ask people which season would be the best match for a particular book!
I am currently reading East of Eden and June is the perfect month for that one!!❤
I have a unique taste in books and generally don’t like a lot of “best” lists, but you have NEVER steered me wrong. I would love more book videos from you!
Wow, thank you!!! 💖
Yes to a classics for beginners video!
I just made a video on classics if you're interested czcams.com/video/VNdTFM6Om8k/video.html :))
I just read all of Mieko Kawakami’s novels and was touched beyond measure. “All the Lovers in the Night” in particular really gave me all the feels. 10/10 recommend.
Loved this
PLEASE do more of these on CZcams, you have so much to offer when it comes to insight and cultivation of literary taste!
More to come!
A big yes to your book google doc tour please!
Yes! Would love a Classics for beginners video, and I'm loving all your reading content
I absolutely cannot choose favorites of life, but my favorite books that I read this year were “In the Dream House,” and “Yellowface,” and I’d give an honorable mention “Okay Days” which I specifically only read while traveling which made it even more sentimental for me.
would LOVE to see your reading log routine!! and any book videos tbh, you know I love talking about books! xxx
Hi Jenny! I would love to see more book videos. Classics for beginners and top 10 (or 20 or 50) books about love would be my favorites to start. Can't wait to read your new book ❤
You had me at „The Master and Margarita“ 🥰 Book of books 🖤
Loved these recommendations, thank you! Will read every single one! looking forward to yours!! ✨✨
100% more book content please Jenny, this summer I intend to read several of your recommendations.
Thank you very much for this list! I've not heard of many of them and now they are on my TBR list and I can't wait!
I’m soo glad you included the Master and Margarita 🐈⬛ - and introduced it as one for the weirdos, because it is my favourite book ever and I do gently identify as a weirdo, in the loveliest proudest way ♥️
I have just started Okay Days! I just read the bit where Sam applies chapstick to Luc’s lips in the most tender way ♥️
i LOVE your book recs!!! please publish more book content💗 id also love to hear about your writing process!
Hi Jenny! Loved this video so much. I right out and ordered Good morning midnight. Thank you for another inspiring list of books to read 📚
This list was made for me. Thank you for this wonderful video!
And YES....PLEASE DO THE CLASSIC FOR BEGGINERS!!!
More book related videos, please !!! Your vibes are immaculate and I’m gonna get myself a copy of Ok Days for Christmas ❤
Yes to more book videos
Love this! My log is super simple- a tiny notebook that I keep at my bedside. Each year has its own page that simply names the book title and the month I completed it in. To the left, I mark titles I adored with a star. Last year, two books got two stars as they were just that good 😉. This goes back to 2015 and I think the same notebook will last me at least another 10 or 15 years.
Please tell us the titles of the two star books! ❤❤
Love that!
Yes, please. More book videos! These were exquisite recommendations.
You Rock Jenny Mustard! I loved this video! and yes please to all kind of bookish videos :)
Yes to all of the book videos! Especially any recommendations for historical fiction.
I definitely want more book recommendations! I think you have marvelous taste in reading material and a fascinating take on what you read. More, more more please
Oh thank you!
Your book videos are the best, seriously, such perfect recommendations with calm and gorgeous aesthetics. Can't wait for more book content! Anything, really, from all sorts of classics (thank you for commenting on Giovanni's room, you're the only person I heard complain the utterly problematic things in his book), to Swedish, Japanese, French books... but also best books of 2021, 2022, best popular books, best underrated books, best books soon to be published... Anything personal as well about your reading journey since childhood, or videos about books you are planning to read this month/ this year. All the best and can't wait for your new book videos! Also loved your video from yesterday
Yes, to your book recommendations! I'm obsessed with reading. I have been logging my books since 1983. I used a journal for years and now I like using Goodreads.
Finally read Bonjour Tristesse based on your recommendation. Great summer read as you said it would be. Book recommendations are always welcome.
Your confidence in your own work is inspiring! I always want to put as little attention as possible on the things I do or make...
Hi Jenny!
Thank you for your recommendations, will definitely check them out. I log my reads and tbr in my bullet journal, however it would be handy to have them all in one place. Yes to all your ideas about book-related videos!
Ha en bra dag! 😄
Yes please to ALL the book videos! especially classics for beginners 😍
Oh thank you! Need some good reads for winter❤
What a delight! Please make a classics video!
I love the list! Another video about books for the dark season would be amazing. :)
I always love your videos on books most. And my absolute favorite is also Master and Margarita.

Love your book videos! ❤ And okay days is def on my to read list 🤭 Would love to see your book log because I've never found a system for me that works 😢
Would love to see how you organise your entries and yes to beginner literature videos :) I love your videos.
Yes to more book recommendations! I would love to see you list of books you can read in one sitting (like on a chill Sunday). Also, I use Goodreads and StoryGraph to track my books ☺️
Great idea!!
Hey Jenny long time subber here❤ I just finnished your beautiful book and omg I cryed when you mention David at the end ❤ 😭As a newly reader I was so invested and love both Luc and Sam and the ending is just 🤌 I am not sure what book to pick up next, but surely I will consider your list from the video ✨
Great recommendations! I got really into the 'Dublin' series after you mentioned it ages ago, which I loved. I'd love a 'classics' video
love love love your book content
10 new books to add to my reading list just when I was running out, thank you Jenny :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Bulgakov's humor is great. It is often on a dark side with a lot of sitire. It does help to have some knowledge of time period and circumstances to fully enjoy it. I loved Sagan when i was in my early 20s. I wonder how would i feel about it now. You inspire me to re-read it. Thank you for great list, i added some titels to my "to read" list. And im looking firward to more lists from you. Seasonal or classics, anything you want.
Would love more book videos! Specifically about some great classics as I'm just getting into reading more :)
On it!
I would love to see more book reviews and recommendations on the channel. I look forward to reading "Okay Days'" as well as some of the others you talked about in this video. I read "Transit" from the Rachel Cusk trilogy and will probably check out the other two books based on your rec. Toni Morrison, Jean Rhys, Francoise Sagan, and Virginia Wolf are all timeless writers that I should re-read now that you mention them. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this, Jenny! I would love more book videos. From your list, I have read and loved Kokoro (the name of my dog), The Friend (this one read it because of you and enjoyed every sentence of it so much), Mrs Dalloway, Assembly and The Master and Margarita. I do highly recommend to you "While I was dying" from Faulkner, it blew my mind! Lots of love from Spain.
My favorite books of all time (so far):
⋆ Dostoevsky - Crime & Punishment
⋆ Dostoevsky - The Brothers Karamazov
⋆ Bulgakov - The Master & Margarita
⋆ Proust - In Search of Lost Time
⋆ Céline - Journey to the End of the Night
⋆ Cortázar - Rayuela ✩ Joyce - Ulysses
I loved your selection of books, Kokoro and The Master & Margarita are masterpieces. I was wandering, which bookshops around London are your faves? I am traveling there from Spain in a couple of weeks just to find beautiful books :) (found the most gorgeous editions last time I visited so I can't wait to explore again!).
Thank you Jenny!🥰♥
great list
So many I’ve never heard of. Thank you!
Yes, please! More book videos!
More to come!
Thank you so much for this video . I randomly found you today . God I love your style and I love the topics that you talk about here !
Welcome!!
Jenny, this video was very welcome! I have curated a shopping list on my Amazon profile (not that I buy from them 🤢) of all the books you have recommended and really look forward to reading them 🙂
A couple of my favourites are Everything That Remains by The Minimalists and Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller.
Please do a future video on classic novels to start out with, that would be very helpful for all the fiction newbies like me!
Finally, thank you for your amazing offering, Okay Days, which has finally got me into reading fiction, it was a total London dream 😊
The Goldfinch by Donna Tart and The Girl who was Saturday Night by Heather O’Neill
Dear Jenny, I bought and read and also really liked “okay days”. ♥️
Another novel I read during the holidays was “Where the crawdads sing” and it was one of the best novels I’ve ever read. If you haven’t yet read it - you might like it… 😉
Take care! XOXOX from Germany
Great video =) I am looking forward for more!
Yes to more book videos!
Yaaaassss pleaaase more book content! Classics! Everything!
What a great video! LOVE everything about Mrs. Dalloway!! Such a beautifully written book. They actually did a really good job on the movie too! I'm sure you've all seen it. Vanessa Redgrave is in another league of her own. I think she would be amazing to spend a girls weekend with on the coast.
Yes yes yes to more book recommendations! And thank you for this list, i have not read some of these, yey! The trial & metamorphosis by Kafka remain my all time favs, maybe bc i first read them in highschool, while struggling with my asd, society and bad parents. Besides these, i couldn't for the life of me choose and stick with the choice. As a small recommendation to anyone, for a small, big book, read “giovanni's room” if you haven’t. Just read it and loved it❤
OMG, yes, best books divided in season it’s a great idea!
Thanks for the great recommendations! I’d be super interested in how you log your books? I’ve been thinking of a system and haven’t yet found a satisfying one! All the best!
Thank you for the book video! Yes, please create the book classics video! 😊❤
Coming soon!
In would love book recommendations for ˋgood feeling´ books! (Positive vibes, love, vacation, all the good stuff)
Sounds good :)
One of my favorites is What looks like crazy on an ordinary day, by Pearl Cleage. I've read it several times and still find it wonderful! And, yes, classics for the beginning readers would be awesome!! I just finished Bonjour Tristesse and it was fantastic, thank you for getting me back into reading!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
I have only ever heard of Kokoro from this list because I have seen "The Heart" 1950s movie based off of it. I should read it. Love how eclectic your list is.
I love Goodreads honestly, it helps motivate me to see everyone else's reading and be able to set a for the year
big yes for a classics video! :)
Yes please!! Other videos about books!!
More book videos, please. I loved this one ❤
• Lolita by Nabokov
• La promesse de l’aube by Romain Gary
• Herzog by Saul Bellow
• the art of joy by Goliarda Sapienza
• Breakfast at Tiffany’s by t Capote
• The goldfinch by Donna Tartt
• the physics of catastrophes by Marisha Pessl
• Bonjour tristesse as well💛
• a clown’s opinions by Heinrich Boll
💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
I would love a seasonal book list and the classical book list!
loveeeee this! Thanks
Please make more book videos! I'd love to know what you recommend. I had mo idea you were such a voracious reader 😃
Love the last one! ❤
I would love to see a "Best books for Autumn and Winter" video!
Yessss, classics for beginners! :)
Would love to see the Word doc you use to record the books you’ve read! Or just a template. Great book videos! Thank you.
I'd watch all of your book related videos, so go crazy! :)
Love this video! I'm a big Morrison fan as well. I'd say my favorite books would be Song of Solomon by Toni, The Handmaid's Tale, Call Me By Your Name, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Jane Eyre, Where the Crawdads Sing, White Oleander by Janet Fitch, Wasted by Marya Hornbacher, The Overstory by Richard Powers, and Normal People.
I'm a big fan of fantasy and YA so I'm sure no one here would be interested in that, but as far as classics go I'm partial to The Picture of Dorian Gray, and I love all of the Sherlock Holmes works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Since no one has mentioned non-nonfiction, I'll add a couple, Scar Tissue biography and M-Train by Patti Smith are some of my favourites.
I'm also a big fan of fantasy, for example: The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman
Yes!!! Classics for beginners!!!
Could you make a top ten audiobooks on Audible? ❤️
I have some credits to use but can’t decide on which books 🥲
Or if anyone out there in Mustardia has some ideas, please share! ❤️❤️❤️
Any further recommendations you can make regarding books would be welcomed! I really enjoy the videos that feature you nerding out on books. I am also a avid reader. I tend towards the classics but find your contemporary recommendations very interesting as well. Oh and I have never read The Master and Margarita but it has been on my TBR list for years - my brother did his Masters thesis on it.
If you enjoy Virginia Woolf, I highly recommend trying the short stories of Katherine Mansfield. She was the only writer Woolf was ever jealous of and she had the most wonderful knack for writing about the inner conflicts of ordinary people.
Classics for beginners would be great. Want to read some of the easier ones. Thank you.
This was really fun :D thanks for the tips :) even if Dazai wasn't quite on the list, I love that you mentioned his work :D I think that my personal favourite of his might be The Setting Sun, some things there really hit me so hard when I first read it. His Otogizoushi, a collection of re-told classic Japanese fairytales, is also so profound. I love that phrase too, literaturely travelling - laughed a bit when you said it ^^
On the topic of logging books, I have done so for years in these little physical notebooks :) I also do have a google doc for books I want to read; quite a good idea though with a spreadsheet to collect everything :D
And yessss The Master and Margarita!!! I'm totally a weirdo, and a very proud one at that, so I can confirm that it is perfect for that audience :) it was a while ago for myself too, but I love it :)
I adore Terry Pratchett and his work, and would recommend the whole Discworld series in chronological order, as that way one really gets the full experience of seeing the world evolve and things happening in one book influencing the next... they are however technically free-standing on their own, so if not quite wanting to commit to reading all, my favourite would probably be Thief of Time, with some other favourites being The Shepherd's Crown and Night Watch, to make it three, though I really love them all ^^
Also love Tove Jansson's Moomin books, and Karin Boye's Kallocain, just to name a couple more that I have read and loved :)
Yes please, would love to see a ‘Classics for Beginners!’
all of these sound absolutely incredible
would absolutely LOVE autumn reading recs!!
Anything by Haruki Murakami, he can do no wrong. ‘Kafka on the Shore’ is probably my favorite by him & ‘Norwegian Wood’. If you’re a reader of fantasy and you haven’t heard of Robin Hobb go check her out! ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ is a classic and if you’ve not read it Autumn is the perfect time of year for it!!!
Hey Jenny! I loved this video. I hope that you continue to make more book content. So far, my top 10 books are
1. The Alchemist
2. A Thousand Splendid Suns
3. Flowers for Algernon
4. Praise Song for the Butterfly
5. Open Water
6. Their Eyes Were Watching God
7. Night
8. The Portrait of Dorian Gray
9. I, Tituba Black Witch of Salem
10. Dune
Also, I’d love a recommendation video on classics! 🙂
Read Master and Margarita about 3 times and some parts reread more and more , favorite book , the only way Bulgakov could express what was going on , brilliant absolutely brilliant , I would add 1984 to the list
I love to use The StoryGraph to log my books! It's great for visuals as well. Absolutely agree with Bonjour Tristesse - read it for the first time while living in the south of France this year. Just perfect
It's so good!
@@JennyMustard here to second the Storygraph as an alternative to Goodreads! It's way more intuitive to use, and not owned by Amazon either :)
And anything about books by Jenny Mustard is great🥰
I'm curious if you have any rules about owning books as a minimalist? I struggle because I want to own them all 😅
Thanks Jenny Mustard!
I love in no particular order:
"Alberte-trilogien" by Cora Sandel (best portrayal ever of a female character in my opinion)
The "Min Kamp" books by Karl Ove Knausgård
"Cathedral" by Raymond Carver (the single short story, not necessarily the whole collection which is also named "Cathedral")
Love when you speak about books, keep them coming xx
