The Birch Bark Canoe

Navigating a New World is a 20 minute video included in a teachers' guide resource package which was commissioned by the partnership of Manitoba Aerospace, the Engineering Access Program and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Funding was also provided from Engineers Canada. The package has been designed to be used in Manitoba classrooms to honour the contributions of First Nations and Métis peoples and educate future generations about the art and science of the birch bark canoe. The package will be given free of charge to Manitoba teachers who wish to make use of the resource in their classrooms.
