  • In this video I teach you my process for how to draw a realistic tree for beginners step by step. Leaning how to draw trees with pen and Ink like a pro is important for manga artist and comic creators. You really need to learn how to draw backgrounds and other non character related art. I learned some of this technique from my appearance Pro vs amateur on Doki doki drawing earlier this year.
I hope you enjoy my personal take on this technique.

😂 there were zoom-ins on the pencil sketches, but that didn’t help me see anything, but the pen drawing really helped 👍

I meant to say, I think it's a brilliant idea to initially only focus on the lightest and darkest shades and then add further depth with more shades once you have the basic form down. One of the things I find the hardest to do is getting a range of values and I am going to start employing this idea in everything I draw. Thank you so, so much.

Love your content, thanks for this. Was on your stream while you shooting this footage to begin with, nice to see how it came out 10/10.

Thanks, bruv. I have my first actual art class coming up and the stuff I learned from watching you and drawing along will set me up nicely.

Comments say the tree is not visible - but stick with it. He starts with a very light outline and it is hard to see. When he switches to pen 3.45 minutes it is easily visible and I found his style really helpful. Thanks for the tutorial.

I liked this tutorial so much, I'm back again to practice my trees! I start from 3.50 in the video, when the pen comes out.

Compared to yours it's bad... But instead of looking at that I decided "let's flip back in the notebook and compare it to past trees I've drawn." And yea Im alot happier that it looks like a tree and not a stick with circles on it. Thanks!!
