- We found a house that had such an overgrown lawn that you couldn't even see the house itself. After talking to some neighbors we discovered nobody lived there and the house was being sold as a lot. So we decided to clean up the front yard for this neighborhood and make it look much better.
We found a crazy old sidewalk while mowing this overgrown lawn and decided to dig it up and uncover it for the neighborhood. The sidewalk was down over a foot in the ground so we had to do a lot of digging. Seems like the sidewalk had been there for decades. This was a great lawn transformation and we were glad we could make it look good for everyone.

When I was younger, I have done some of those sidewalks that were a foot deep in soil due to the rains, neglect, etc. I used a roto tiller. I had an old troy built and the wheels were in front and the tines on the back. I put the depth gauge down so the tines didn't hit the concrete. I still had to shove all that dirt off, but it was loose and a lot easier for me.
That ending song is catchy!
If we had known and could have prepared ahead of time, that would have been a great peice of equipment to bring! We'll have to remember for the next time though!

What every extreme lawn restoration person I watch sees...It is so beautiful. I may die cleaning that yard up but it will be worth it. What I see...that looks like the gates to Hades and I betcha there is a body or two under that mess.

Glad to see you put the hornworm back in the yard since it doesn’t look like there are any tomatoes nearby. Now it can morph into a cool hawk moth 👌. The cleanup was perfect! Shows off what looks to be a 1920’s or thereabouts cottage home.
You are exactly right! We did a little research and was built in the 1920s. We hope someone remodels it someday. It's a really cool looking house.

Being a former Michigan resident, I grew up in the city of Detroit and lived there most of my life until 9 years ago so on the fall time when it would come for leaf, clean up.I found a secret weapon and that would either be too leaf.Rakes or two snow shovels! They serve the same purpose as two giant hands would so to speak.

By the way, a little tip to help your back, always throw dirt across your body not the same side. That has a tendency to torque your back a little more than it should.

Maybe it does! We didn't really investigate the backyard much. We wanted to get the front yard looking green and clean so the neighbors didn't have to look at a mess. Maybe we will go back someday and look at the back.

That side walk was nasty. I am one of those people that don't like shrubs like those against my house or steps. I would have to have them pulled out. They like to collect spiders and other creepy crawlers. Glad there was two of to clean it up. Looks really good. So does the rest of the yard. Keep it Green & Clean....

@LawnsterMowing 85° or so. But r evenings r in the 50's. The fans get set in windows & screendoors to draw in the cool air at 5a.m.. When it's 70° I close things up again. Shade trees r a blessing!

No one in their right mind plants arbor vitae in a small yard like that. If the house was mine, I’d take them all out and plant things in scale with the house. Then there are the vines next to the house. Bad plan.
