This girls selected from at list 500 . They working 6 times a week couple of hours a day, they have best teachers and great Vaganova system! Hard work ... again and again!
@Twilight4ever1449 I started pointe at 10, after 2 years of training. Apparently some Russian ballet teachers actually start students on pointe; see if you can find videos of a little girl named Katia, who was on pointe at 6. She's incredible.
@balletteacher621 They're 13 by the end of 3rd grade. It refers to the 3rd year of study in the Vaganova Academy, not the third year of elementary school.
can someone remind what the step is called that they are doing at the very beginning of the video? Where they pique, come through cou de pied and roll down? also done at 0:45
@louiselins These girls are just beginning on pointe. It's understandable that they would not be perfect at turns yet - I'm about a year into pointework (and in my 20's) and my turns are no better than theirs. No offense to Ilya, but the girls on her channel are going to have serious injuries and deformities from starting pointe WAY too young. A girl should never be put on pointe before 10 or 11, sometimes even later. It all depends on her individual development.
I wonder if they are dressed like that in all their daily classes or if it's just for the sake of filming. Their outfiit is gery adult-style for girls who are only their age
They start pointe at second semester of first year. But they have good teachers, everywhere else in the world is too scared of pointe because they don't know how to teach anything.
Thank you so much shkablender, for posting the class. I love to watch the best students in the world becoming the best dancers!

Beautiful ballerinas! They look about 10 or 11 years. Great teaching
WOW The famous Vaganova school... more than 300 years of ballet history where can you go wrong!

@rlion2005 LOL, and I was really impressed! Even if it is the most ungifted class of the academy, they beat any other class in the world...

very nice
they work already in 3rd grade with pointe? I know, they're all 13 but I always thought you need to dance ballet for 5 years or so to start pointe..
