It’s hilarious my son and I are coming back from a ISU campus visit. Then, we heard they drafted a punter and he was pissed and upset with Bears for not drafting an Edge Rusher. As soon as I heard Pat announce they drafted Booker he smiled and I just started laughing. Then I explained how good the punter was and gave me a fist bump.
Don't forget or underestimate the hiring of Eric Washington as our new DC.
I fully expect Dexter and Pickens to make big jumps in their second year as well as Montez Sweat and Booker benefiting
Absolutely. Nobody is mentioning that we have two young guys that were just drafted last year and are improving and will only get better. We’re pretty solid on the DL except for a quality starting DE opposite Sweat.

If polls traded a fourth round pick for this guy, then Technically the Bears got him right where he was slotted.
Most folks don’t care about the punter until it’s too late and your punter craps the bed.
i know it not a sexy pick but he will come in handy
My cousin was pissed that the Bears used their fourth pick in the draft, on a punter but after I explained it, it makes sense. Taylor is undoubtedly the best punter in the NCAA and I would imagine he will be here for many years to come.

If you can get that sack on 3rd down, knock them off of field goal range and cost them points, that will add up. That's where the impact is.
I'm curious why Ryan Poles didn't just take Austin Booker in the 4th round. Did P Tory Taylor actually offer greater value at that spot?
Does it matter? We got them both. IMO I would’ve taken Booker or another edge in the fourth and taken Taylor in the fifth. But oh well. We still got them…

I know punter isn't a valued position but Tory Taylor may be the best punter in the league and we have him locked in for 20 years now. Wouldn't want to risk someone else getting him.

You guys had a perfect opportunity to screw up the Vikings 1st round draft by trading #9 pick to Broncos/Raiders for QB or taking Edge. You guys could've use extra picks and Edge at the time.
Vikings got the QB they wanted and moved up to take Dallas. Hopefully these two players don't make Bears fans regret the move.

Wasted a 4th to do it. Should have taken the Edge in 4th and waited to get punter in 5th. Sketchy decision. I like both players but don’t like to lose picks needlessly. 4ths are potential starters and 2025 draft is suppose to have better depth.
It’s just a future 4th round pick for a guy who could be a potential day one starter or a major rotational player.
Would had to trade a 4th to get the punter anyways.

Bears got best QB, one of the best wr, the best punter, big smart LT , good in pass pro, even though ivy League, and the cherry on top, a edge who should be able to take advantage of slow OTs. Best draft ever in one season. Bears are going to be good.
