Hooters Waitress Tells Cop “I Can Take It All Off”

- From the report of Officer Klein, with the Sarasota Police Department, lightly edited for clarity and brevity: "On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 3:53 a.m., I was on uniformed marked patrol within the City of North Port, Sarasota County, when I approached a red traffic light at the intersection of North Cranberry Blvd and North Toledo Blade Blvd, when I observed a black Hyundai sedan which had stopped over the painted stop bar and crosswalk, placing the vehicle almost completely in the intersection as it waited for the light to cycle.
I checked the vehicles license plate through NCIC/FCIC which revealed that the plates were expired as of 4/2/21, and that the registered owner, Naomi Furrer, had a suspended driver's license. Once the light cycled, I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, I immediately identified the driver as Naomi Furrer, the registered owner of the vehicle.
While speaking with Furrer, I observed her to have bloodshot watery eyes and slightly slurred speech. Furrer appeared to struggle with completely recalling her recent events and locations. I observed that Furrer was dressed for Halloween, and she stated that she was coming from a Halloween party. I observed Furrer to be wearing a yellow, non-descript wristband on her left wrist, consistent with wristbands issued at local bars. While further speaking with Furrer, I smelled the strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and person.
I questioned Furrer about her license status, and she informed me that she knew her license was suspended and that she was trying to get it fixed. I instructed Furrer to exit her vehicle, and she complied. I observed Furrer to be unsteady on her feet as she was exiting her vehicle. While outside of her vehicle, I continued to smell the odor of alcohol emitting from Furrer;s breath and person. I asked Furrer if she would perform field sobriety exercises, and she agreed.
A further computer check revealed that Furrer had three active suspensions for failure to pay traffic citations, and one active suspension for violation of financial responsibility.
Due to the totality of the circumstances and Furrer's performance on the field sobriety exercises, there is probable cause that Furrer violated F.S.S. 316.193(1)(a), Driving under the Influence, and F.S.S. 322.34(2)(a), Driving While License Suspended With Knowledge.
Furrer knowingly operated a vehicle on a roadway while her license was suspended and while under the influence of alcohol to the extent that her normal faculties were significantly impaired.
Furrer was placed under arrest and placed in the back of my patrol vehicle. A probable cause search of Furrer's vehicle was performed in which two small open containers of Fireball Whiskey and one empty White Claw Hard Seltzer can were located within the passenger compartment.
I transported Furrer to the Sarasota County Jail without incident, where I requested Furrer provide a breath sample; she refused. I advised Furrer of her implied consent warnings which she indicated she understood. Furrer still refused to provide a breath sample. Furrer was issued copies of her citations and was booked. Her vehicle was later removed by Talon Towing.
Furrer's trial is ongoing.

It was mainly just unpaid tickets, not really 5 separate suspensions. Each unpaid ticket counted as a suspension. She wasn’t officially suspended for any other reason.

She hired a criminal attorney and case closed 8/15/23. DUI reduced to guilty plea of "DRIVING WHILE LICENSE CANCELED, SUSPENDED, OR REVOKED" - So she was not convicted for the DUI.

I feel bad for her for making a bunch of stupid decisions that may ruin her life, but I would still take her to jail for drinking and driving. Being empathetic doesn't automatically mean that you'll be manipulated into bending the rules, it just means that you still see people as people.
I have no doubt whatsover of her mistake. She put herself and other people at risk and deserve to face the consequences. But deportation is too much IMO. You can see the shock in her face. Not from being arrested or charged with DUI, but that her 'oh no, not please little old innocent me' routine doesn't work. That is 100% a learned response. Bat your eyes, puff out your chest a little and men let you off easy. Her shock comes from it not working - like something is wrong in the universe. I think that shattered her world more than the actual arrest.
Apparently, it didn't work several other times either since she's had her license repeatedly suspended and numerous tickets before this one. Clearly, she's been told no before.

Well, that's like saying you paid for 5 seats on one flight. Your licence really can't be suspended 5 times at once. It can only be suspended one at a time. She most likely has 5 unpaid tickets that have to be cleared up before she can get it back.
An alternative is that her licence was suspended 5 times and reinstated 4 times which I highly doubt this is the case here.
Put it another way: if you get arrested and put in jail, your term can be increased by adding charges but you can't be put in jail again, if you're already there.

99% of interactions with police go exactly like this. People are treated with respect and the job is done with professionalism. Are there bad cops? Absolutely, but as long as you do what you are told this is how an interaction most of the time depending on the type of call.

After some very abnormal, beyond the realm of imagination extreme trauma I had a bad evening and wound up arrested for some pretty serious stuff. After I was coherent enough to understand the officer came in and told me the charges, I nodded, looked him in the eye and said "Fair enough, no hard feelings" and continued to treat them like intelligent adults and not act absurd towards them. Apparently that behavior is some kind of magic talisman because they didn't even take me to jail that night but let someone come pick me up. I've always been amazed by how ridiculous grown adults act when being held accountable for the shit they full well KNOW they're doing.

Being from Switzerland she's well versed in law compliance as they're VERY strict about law and order there. I have a family member from Zurich and he's about as law and order as they come. Not only that, her parents will SH*T when they find out what she's been doing.
Switzerland , Germany, these places are so serious about driving, and paperwork, plates. Emissions...you have to have a brand new car or not at all. ...otherwise it won't pass their requirements. You rarely see an old broken down car. It's complex.

Not everyone who is stopped and/or arrested did something wrong or illegal. There are more false arrests than there are warranted arrests.

Because female privilege is a thing and I've been binge watching these types of videos for a good while now. Especially because there are spit rags to cover faces of people trying to spit on officers, women tend to get those mostly. There's a recent video of a white woman being slammed against the road, dragged to the police car, getting a spit rag against her face and pinned down. She definitely deserved it like other DUI drivers who aren't cooperating with the police.

also, men are more aggressive than women on average, and also more physically imposing, so they are more likely to come off as threatening for those reasons.

I have to commend these officers for doing their job. Back in the late 1980’s in El Paso county, two police officers pulled over a woman then W/I minutes let her go. A mile down the road she ran a red light and killed the driver. No matter how pretty, or excuses never let them drive off, you’ll regret it the rest of ur lives.

@@Fiufia the breathaliser picks up alchohol - but if a driver is impaired from other substances it will not detect it. A "prehistoric" test gives an indication to whether the driver is likely able to safely operate a vehicle independently from the alcohol consumption that can be detected in a roadside breathaliser.

How can you have a license be 5x suspended? I truly don't understand that. You get one license. It gets suspended. You take a chance, get pulled over and it gets suspended again.... wouldn't the cop just take it at that point? That's only 2x. So how 5?!
