    I will second that. All these people that are saying that this is not a dance contest but an entertainment show don't seem to realise that one of the elements that make the show entertaining is the fact it is a contest.
    Anyway the show is thinking of making a new rule to avoid this happening again. It is called 3 strikes. It means if a couple ends up bottom of the judges leaderboard for 3 weeks running, they will automatically be eliminated with no dance off. What do you think of this rule?

  • @dwtslvr
    @dwtslvr Před 14 lety +2

    Anyone who tries the dances deserves the credit, and the votes, however people should vote if their contestant can actually dance. Don't vote because of popularity, vote for that person if they are really good! You do a disservice to the contestant by voting strictly on popularity and because you might not the judges comments and scores.

  • @jaradoref
    @jaradoref Před 16 lety +1

    They have made a new rule from next series to avoid a repeat of this. It is called 3 strikes. If you end up bottom of the judges leaderboard for 3 weeks running, then you will be automatically eliminated without facing the dance off. What does everyone think of this?

    The public should decide, and we have decided to keep him in.
    Does anyone really believe that this has not happened as a result of the overpayed judges making threats to the producers and John being forced to quit, despite what he is saying publicly.

  • @jaradoref
    @jaradoref Před 15 lety +2

    Why? All they are doing is doing their job. John has admitted that he was not forced or bullied out of the compitition and all they are doing is giving their professional opinion on the dance.

  • @jaradoref
    @jaradoref Před 16 lety +2

    I do not mean to offend people, but if the public were keeping John in for the entertainment, then they have no taste. The good dancers provide better entertainment if you ask me.

  • @jaradoref
    @jaradoref Před 16 lety +4

    I know I have said this many times, but the judges are giving there professional opinion. When they say John is poor, they are not telling him stories, it is the truth. It is a DANCE, I repeat DANCE contest, not a popularity contest. All the pros and celebs want to win. Now he is gone, the public can focus on voting for the best dancer. Austin or Rachel to win for me.
    VOTE FOR THE DANCE.

    I think that if he won the show it would be a joke but it would make this year a bit different to other years so i hope someone bad wins sometime.

    I think the BBC could do well out of this by having two shows next year.
    One show for none Professionals under 30 and a second show for none Professionals over 40
    Every ones happy and we get to watch Strictly twice.

    I don't get Arlene. I think she was wrong, John Sergeant was something new, Julian Clary had had SOME decent scores, he barely had any, he kick-started the proper trend of someone who was purely in it for fun, and I love him for it, it's brilliant.

  • @billydeeuk
    @billydeeuk Před 16 lety

    To be fair, whilst I do agree that it does "make a joke" of SCD, it is unfair on the public who PAID MONEY TO RING TO KEEP HIM IN. He should not have quit and instead have stayed in. If he won, he won, if he lost, he lost. Ulimately, the public decide who wins this show, not the celebs themselves.

  • @jaradoref
    @jaradoref Před 16 lety

    They actually ARE going to do it as from next series.

  • @cudknot3
    @cudknot3 Před 16 lety

    The viewers voted to keep him, is telephone voting a waste of money?
    He has left in disgust, for the cruel remarks made about him.
    I am disappointed that he decided to pull out, and his comment about winning was to hit back at all the people, including the judges who made those comments. Good for you John!

  • @jaradoref

    It is called 3 strikes. If a couple ends up bottom of the judges leaderboard 3 weeks in a row, they will be automatically eliminated without facing the dance off. What do you think of it?

  • @JHawke1
    @JHawke1 Před 13 lety

    i have to say the judges have been very harsh on him
    i mean they asked him on the show and they know he's a political commentator in his sixties and a bit portly,
    what did they expect!
    every week it was "YOUR DANCING WASN'T BRILLIANT, you portly man in your sixties"

  • @waveneyd0105
    @waveneyd0105 Před 16 lety

    Sorry but the moment they opened it to a public vote it ceased to be about just dancing. The public are not dance experts, but they know what they like. The judges may be judging the dancing but the public are judging the entertainment factor. They wanted John to stay on because they enjoyed it more. This is not a specialist ballroom dancing show but a light entertainment program - deal with it.

    Would have been a "joke too far" in 2008, sure, but nothing terrifying was going on in 2008. Would have won unchallenged and caused a violent political subculture these days.

    John Sargeant you selfish bastard! No I jest.
    I am the selfish one. I kept voting for him just to see Christina each week. I hope she comes back for the next series with someone(only slightly!) better than John. Ultimately I think the judges were the ones out of order.
    Good luck to John and especially Christina.

    Everyone saluting John Sergeant massively fails. It's like so stupid it's not funny. I couldn't sleep after seeing his leaving video as it is so wrong. They had no badge to salute from, and they were saluting a rank that you shouldn't salute. C'mon BBC, actually make yourselves look clever for once.

    who gives a f*ck about what the judges think?! Its all about who the VIEWERS want to win. Thats the only reason this show is on the air in the first place.
    The judges just can't take it that Sergeant is more popular then they will ever be.

  • @DizzyWater

    It's a show FOR the public, and he was voted IN byt the public.
    If he won, it's because the public wanted him to win.
    Sad.
