- Steve Spangler surprised meteorologist Becky Ditchfield with an in-studio demonstration of his liquid nitrogen explosion. The reaction on her face is priceless.
About Steve Spangler…

What makes him think I'm not going to try this at home? Lol
I love the abandon with which the man pours liquid nitrogen; like an arsonist pouring gasoline.
Being a chemist and working in a lab, I can tell you from experience that it will not cause irreversible damage if it comes in contact with your skin for a quick period of time. Because the nitrogen is at 77 degree Kelvin, and you body temp is around 310 degree K, there is a large temp difference. This temp difference will cause the nitrogen to go into a gas but this gas that is around your skin also insulates you from the actual liquid nitrogen. Same thing with putting water on a hot grill.
I'm on the science part of CZcams again...
2:31
Love this guy.
People who explain it are total but cool needs
my town needs a steve spangler
The genuine wonder and fun these people have make me immeasurably happy
crazy! look how nonchalantly he is handling the liquid nitrogen!
I could just keep watching that part all day long,
AWSOME!
And that's how steve sprangler simulated heaven....
lol the news anchors @2:49 are like "is that science guy here again?"
truthfully i didnt think i would like science and 100 steve spanglers videos later i subscribed
Thats incredible
That was one of the best things I've ever seen!
I seem to fall down the chair with a start because of the exploration sound at the end :P
You should do more of those
That was AWESOME
Weather Forecast for INSIDE the studio: Explosive Cloudiness with a chance of Drizzle.
wow that just made watching news even more entertaining!
GIANT EXPLOSION!!!!
That is so awesome
Soooo cool!
The final cloud is really cool.
that is so awesome might do this for science fair
Awesome!
That guy is CRAZY!!!!
i think this stuff is way more cool then the big science project people do!
I can just see a weather reporter predicting a clear sunny day when her part of the studio fills up with a nitrogen cloud from this experiment...
liquid nitrogen is actually pretty easy to get where I live, yes you have to go to a place that can actually store it but you can get liquid nitrogen from them if they have it "instock"
2:30 Is the most awesome thing I have ever seen
I love how there's actually an audible POOF when he drops in the water :D .
so cool!!!!!
"here u go very very nice"
"hmmm..thank youu..i cant see"
hahahha
"in answer to the question BELOW". like boss, man. like a boss.
Three...two...one...BOOM!
Just crapped my pants.
two drops of food coloring is good
but 40 is AWESOME
Cool!!!
2:32 is AWESOME
I love that "Poof" sound it makes.
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!!!!!!
lol that was sick
ok, ready? three, two, one, pffft!!! epic.
It pretty much freezes anything it touches, but when nitrogen freezes "chemical freezing" its pretty much like in the cartoons where you can push someone over and they shatter like glass. So, in essence your throat, and stomach would be so cold that they actually started burning (dissolving)... then you'd die... :)
thats so cool
I always use it for my escapes
Imagine the forecast:
-The weather is a little bit cloudy today!
you can get it in a paintball store because when u refill ur cans they sometimes use liquid nitrogen
I can finally feel like a pegasus
That was so cool! xD
awsome
omfg it's the "Will it blend" guy!
that is epic.
COOL!
2:29 super cool
this is beast
I've watched him on 9-news before!
Omg, this is awsomeeeee!!! :3
awsomeness
2:31 and i can hear the "BOOM" but no smoke was out yet~
that's so cool
He should try filling a spa and then dumping the water in! I think the cloud would cover an entire neighborhood!
omg awesome!!! :) i need it!
I'm totally trying this at home! lol
2 drops are good, but 40 is awesome
@BalloonCreations09 excellent cool white smokey green yellow red blue orange (you get the point) we know a lot of adjectives, we just don't use them very often
It's fine if it's on your skin for less than a second or so.
If you're fast, you can even dip your hand into the liquid itself.
isnt that the coolest thing youve ever seen?! every time....
I WANNA TRY THIS AT HOME
remember the movie the mist? this is why it happened =P
DAYUM!!!! @ 2:31
they should have had a guy dressed as a ninja run in after the smoke poofed up
its really good for Halloween
i wish steve spangler was my science teacher
love this part right here 2:29 totly cool
wow thats petty cool
DAM!!!!! hahah love this part right here 2:29
I want a cloud!!!!!
Kinda like putting an ice cube in water, but colder...
hey, Steve, since you mentioned food coloring, have you ever tried this with food coloring? if you put some in the water before you poured it, would you get a colored cloud?
yes steve its awesome- we heard u
i tried it at home and it was very cool
2:26 BOOM!!!
lol thats exactly what i was thinking.
2:33 the lady goes: Ahaaahaaaa oh shi-
If you spit it out fast enough you're safe because of the leidenfrost effect, leave it longer and you're done for.
Yeah lets get liquid nitrogen all over the studio!!!
Cool
your inner organs freeze so cold you would die.
Cool dude you are the best. ! :)
I've tried it. My wounds will eventually heal, but it'll never bring back my dog.
YAY! Nitrogen Flashbang! :D
btw guys, dont breathe alot of it in...
like breathing too much of any gas,
you restrict the percentage of oxygen in the air,
therefore can cause breathing problems and suffocation due to terrible diffusion in lungs
I was expecting for them to dissapear after explotion
Wow
In 2:30 is like a NUCLEAR BOMB so COOL!!!!
what's the temperature of the liquid that flies out of the explosion? liquid nitrogen is gonna be really cold right? and you have that hot water that's getting poured in.
I really want some liquid nitrogen
I have a question about liquid nitrogen. What if someone was bleeding to death like, from a lost limb? what if you dip the stump into the nitrogen? Would it stop the blood or would it make things worse?
2:28 ¡Kaboom!
