    How much oil will or can we have sitting on top of the piston?
    Meaning after removing the valve plate let’s say there is 1-1/2-2”” of oil above the piston
    Is this blow by past the rings

      FYI lost full crankcase of oil over night
      Low temp 404 MOHAVE SYSTEM
      Bad head fan for months
      20-30 ambient customer didn’t seem to care to replace the fan

      There could many things that caused that. Is the crankcase heater working? Most likely a flooded start condition. The oil is full of refrigerant and when the compressor starts it foams/builds pressure that is released out of the CSV valve. Without inspecting the compressor I’m just guessing which you should not do in refrigeration.

    Awesome i have 50hp copland compressor but every time they trip oil pressure switch and oil going to the system. Give me some information for this issue

      It could be one of many things. Is it on a multi-compressor system or a single compressor? Is it low temp or medium temp? What is your net oil pressure? Have you checked all the screens and filters that are in the oil management system? What are your pipe sizes for discharge, liquid, and suction? Do they have the right velocities? Does suction slope back to the compressor? Do you have any risers and do need to be reduced and have p-traps? Are you overheating the oil and the oil separator is not separating the oil? Is defrost working? Are you short cycling? Do you have blow by? You need to try and answer these questions and when you do you should figure out where the oil is going. Good Luck

    I off the unit for one day... and how many hours before I run the unit because oil is still cold.. thats why the oil pressure is drop...

      I am not sure your question but you should always run the crankcase heater for a good amount of time to make sure it does not have any refrigerant in it before starting. Check the manufacture guideline for there recommendations.

      @@RefrigerationMentor thanks for info you are right because I forgot to run the crankcase heater before I run the compressor.... thats why have vibration and the compressor is shut down because the pressure of suction pressure and oil pressure is not normal..
      after I run the crankcase heater unit is ok now..
