Non-stop fall action on a boat on the Sea of Cortez for Triggerfish, Flounder, Cabrilla, and other weird little species. Our arms were tired after this trip!
Sorry one last question. How deep was the spot in this video? You think like 30-40 feet of water..def doesn't look like 80 feet or something deep ok thx
@@ericbonofacio4695 If I remember it was 50-60 feet. There are yellowtail during certain seasons and further out. Not sure about maji. There are various grouper further out and deeper also. Sea of Cortez is shallow so you gotta get out 20-50 miles to get bigger species variety sometimes.
@@ArizonaAnglers thanks for the reply. I'm doing a lot of researching on my own right now with guidebooks and nautical maps. Also combing they old forum post and you tube comments. I know I'm going to do a few guided trips with these charter boat captains to learn and ask them questions about the offshore seasons and spots within like 20-50 miles from shore with a shot at big game fish species from a skiff setup. Thx again adding your take to my dossier if info
@@ericbonofacio4695 Those are cool. I'd take one out of Rocky Point on a calm day, but not a windy one with big waves and swells. Those days can be brutal in a big boat.
@@ArizonaAnglers very nice.. man, those cochitos have taken over the northern Mar, like my buddy told me.. he said to find a spot from shore next to deep water and chum, those triggers will appear out of thin air.. hahahaha
What charter is this? Will be going in a month to do some deep sea fishing, my brother in law says to just go to the harbor and haggle but I’d prefer to have something set up for the day already
Go Big Charter. Not the cheapest... but with the local pangas you haggle for, who knows what you're getting in to? Do they have radios, safety equipment, etc.? What if the motor quits 11 miles out? Thats not exactly regulated down there. This boat has all the proper safety equipment. It was $450 for the half day, 6 hours. If you want cheaper but still good... go with El Jefe, Jefe Cruz. $250 for 4 hours, $350 for 6.
@@ArizonaAnglers awesome thanks man! I have a buddy flying in from out east so we wanted to do some deep sea fishing since we have never done it before! I definitely agree that Saftey is very important and before this we were looking to charter a boat out of LA, so no matter what this is cheaper. Do you recommend a full or half day?
So how many miles out did you go on the half day? I think their website said but I forgot now. Did the pangaleros say that f they ever catch yellowtail certain times if the year?
The license comes with the charter boat... they have the permits for all customers. I know there is no limit on Triggerfish... not sure about the others. We didn't catch too many of the others... maybe 5 or 6.
That boat is $450 for a half day. But it's probably the nicest boat in the harbor. You can get the pangas for $40 a person for a half day and catch the same stuff.
Fished that same spot 20 years ago. Caught sand bass and some other fish. All n all it was exciting
Hi guys.....Cool video. What size hooks were you using.....Going next week in my little boat....
Really nice video well done..I subscribed to your channel
How far off shore were you? What time of year is this? Going in June with my kayak
Well, Mark Cheche... it was November and we were about 12ish miles offshore. It will be a long paddle in your kayak.

What was the name of the character you guys used?
They are no longer doing charters. Their boat burned.
more species on the other side from shore.. looks like a fun trip though!!
We shore fished quite a bit over 3 days... everyone got at least a dozen new species and there's still more to chase.

Where do y’all get the fishing license to fish in Mar de Cortez and is there a limit on how many fish you can catch?

How much do they charge to take you out there
