Lyrics:
[Smif N Wessun]
This is how we do...everyday all day everyday
This is how we do, this is how we do
Smif and Wess don't play
This is how we do...everyday all day everyday
This is how we do, this is how we do
click click click...
I shine, you shine (repeat 5x)
And this day and time
We maintain the same frame of mind
Elevation, spark an L
Yo Start the circulation, 360 degrees of rotation
Stimulation, as the earth rests my physical creation
Slip into a hallucination
Situations, got me thinking about my life seriously,
Keep it real continuously
Before I slip into blackness I prepare for combat,
Protect my dome cause that's where my home's at
Crack my windows inhale as the mist blows
Build up my mental destruct all my missed boos
Spread love to my brooklyn crew (who be you?)
Bad boys, Smif N Wessun, comin' thru
Check your steer,
Travelin' through the battle and
Handin' all that is challengin' to the very end
This is how we do
This is how we do, everyday all day
This is how we do, this is how we do
Smif N Wess we don't play
This is how we do, this is how we do
When we get down with Mary J.
This is how we do, this is how we do
click click click...
[Mary J. Blige-Chorus 2x]
All those pretty memories,
I know you can hear me now
For the record
I Love you, I Love you
[Mary J. Blige]
[verse 1]
When I found out you were leaving me
I couldn't sleep thinkin' about,
All the things that we've been through
Now all I want to do is tell you that I miss you
So much (you know I really really miss you)
Chorus 2x
[verse 2]
Now that I'm on my own
I know, that in time I'll find somebody
That'll treat me better than you
So I go on my own, without you
But I still love you (you know i'll never live without you)
Chorus 2x
[Bridge]
I wish you change your way soon enough
So we can be together
You just don't understand your love
But now all we have is memories
Chorus 2x
[Smif N Wessun]
Hip Hop, sex out in the park
Blaze an L, raisin' hell till the day I dark
Got me Reminiscing back like Mary J
When I sit back and peep the game people play
To High to get over
Cause I'm rollin' through life like a soldier
Holdin' the weight of my fate on my shoulder
Blazin' the trees,
With my Duck Down family
P-N-C-One L-O-V-E
You know how we do, this is how we do
Everyday all day
This is how we do when we get down with Mary J.
This is how we do, this is how we do
Smif N Wess we don't play
This is how we do, when we break play

Its just something about this version...every time I hear this, it automatically takes me back to a time when hip hop was really crazy and branching out...glad we was around to witness this greatness...I truly appreciate Hip-Hop...
Facts real hip hop this new shit is straight up trash 🗑️🗑️🗑️ demonic music and demonic industry
Biz markie beats way before
I appreciate what hip hop was. I don’t appreciate what it is now. I guess I don’t appreciate what hip hop did?? I don’t know. It’s one of life’s greatest confusions for me. Born in ‘81. Lived in Harlem till I was around 10. Moved out of NYC, but never stopped being heavily influenced by hip hop and the culture. Throughout the 90’s, it just looked like it was going to get better and better. And I had my ears pricked to it. And then, at one singular point in time, I started to see something change. It was like seeing a storm cloud on the distant horizon. I think that was around ‘97 or ‘98. Maybe it was just going to be a wave of whack emcees that got steam rolled eventually. And like so many, I kind of ignored it. It’ll pass.
But it didn’t. It infected the entire scene. I know good shit still gets produced to this day. But everything about the culture feels different now. It’s not a counter culture. It’s not a refuge for people with nowhere else to go. It’s as mainstream as it could possibly be. And it’s as exclusive now as it used to be inclusive. If you knew, you knew. But now? Well… let’s just say it’s not like that anymore. Not by damn sight.
And so my feelings about hip hop can be summed up pretty damn well by this song. For the record, I love hip hop. The real, true SOUL of it as I came up with it. But it’s a very bittersweet thing, just like the harmony of this song. It breaks my heart because, whereas it used to fill it to the brim, it leaves it hollow and wistful these days.
Nostalgia can be a bitch I guess. Especially if your memory is of something you very deeply loved.
I feel the same, bro!🥹🫶🏾
very mutch the same eugene :)

My mom passed when this song came out..I'm still crying..but love this song
I refuse to believe this song is 25 years old. I used to wait for this to play on Hot 97 before hitting record on my blank mix tape. Memories lounging, growing up in Brooklyn listening to portable radios and self-made mix tapes. Still so, so, good. Still listening in October 2019.
That Issac Hayes piano sample is probably the illest sample of all time!!!!
How old are you Maya?

Very few R & B singers can touch your soul in the way Mary did, we love her over here in London UK. She was a true queen of Hip Hop & R & B, her voice is angelica over 25 years in the game.
No one singer male or female comes close to Mary and her hip hop pedigree Neyo has been on some RB rap classic but nobody touches Mary I concur with you

Now I can look back and see how far I have come. I can smile now.
No more tears.

You hear this version one time before hit double digits in age and won't forget it , fr throwbac . Smith and Wesson did their thing 👌
Exactly. I was 12 when this album came out. And today I remember vividly everything in life at that time
The back-and-forth rhyming is truly artful, not many realize how high a skill level is involved in that. It's so seamless, you don't even notice them switching. 0:42 to 1:33 bet you didn't even notice they were switching
Bro they don't know how the original rocked harder.
@@funk8080 Harder and what not is a matter of opinion and subjective preference. I like both, but personally I enjoyed this one because it was really hard to find back in the day and was kind of like a hidden gem.
I noticed off the rip...but, I still agree that it’s artful and was done seemlessly! 🔥
@@TheJofrica this instrumental is one of my fav’s...... after this foxy sampled it on letter to the firm. Then beanie to name a few. Recently nino man n jadakiss sampled it .They revived it n put respect on it in my opinion

Hearing this song brings back so many memories and a feeling words can’t describe. I miss the 90’s
I have yet to hear a R n B album better than My Life
Lim Nafi Lotta people poke fun at Puff Daddy but we gotta thank him for that one
Same. One of very few albums I can listen to straight through and not skip one track. Every single song is that joint.
Lim Nafi I was 11 years old and begged my father to buy me that album when it came out. He surprised me w/the cassette tape (yes a cassette tape lol) and I was too hype!!! I played that thing and rewinds did so much the damn reel bunched up on me. You know that trick that u do when that happens when u try to re roll it back into the cassette tape? Well I tried that to no avail. I was tiiiiiiight. 😂😂😂
Share My World
Now that facts, no body can't touch My Life!
One of my favorite remixes EVER!!!! childhood memories. 80’s baby 90’s kid❤️
