  • Things to look for and pay attention to! I receive a lot of questions about mixing bleach and if you can use "tablets" for pressure wash / house wash jobs. Let's discuss how I mix bleach and what to look for with regards to Sodium Hypochlorite SH. Find The Items I use in My Business in the links down below... Click on "show more"

      Where are getting the 10% now? Walmart(had)it on their shelf for about a week then took it off and replaced it with that $10 a gallon "Outdoor Cleaner". I checked all the local box stores, their online "Availability" app said they had it, but didn't say how many they had, so I chatted with their agent, and found out they didn't actually have it, and that it would probably maybe be available by June 5th. I should have bought 50 jugs of it at Walmart when they had 200 gallons on the shelf.

    Dan, thanks for giving us the "low hanging fruit" knowledge of this industry. I watch 4 or 5 other washer channels and they give high level info but it doesn't cover the nuts and bolts (the basics) of soft washing/pressure washing. You give us the knowledge that will make someone more confident in the use of these simple chemicals. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with us and giving us options outside of $4k+ skids and trailers.

    • @joeyyoung9517
      @joeyyoung9517 Před 4 lety

      Mark Cowan I’m no professional that’s for sure. All I use is a Briggs and Stratton professional engine series 3000 psi pushing 2.3 gpm I’ve had it for 3 years and it has never given me a problem. I service it regularly. I also use a down stream injector as recommended by Dan to avoid running bleach through my pump. I paid about 500 for it and made that back after about two House washes. I also purchased the two story spray tip that Dan uses and it is AWSOME no mor telescopic pole lol those things will wear you out quick. I also use a surface cleaner for driveways which makes driveways a quick money maker. I know that’s more info than you ask for, but I hope that helps. Ps. If you haven’t subscribed to Dans channel I highly recommend you do. Dan gives great common sense tips that you can put into practice everyday.

    I saw the ratio you gave a viewer about pump sprayer in the comment section. That did not touch a thing on my fence. Had to experiment and found that applying it on dry wooden fence and doing 8 cups of SH to 2 gallons of water with a cap of laundry detergent (ALL brand free of everything. White bottle) did the trick. Pump strayer/ garden sprayer ratio is different than when using a pressure washer. Just thought I'd share this here for anyone looking for such information.

      Dan,
      Just to make sure and clear. Only one ounce of surfactant (DAWN) to 1 gallon of SH (Sodium Hypochlorite).
      Not per gallon of the bucket size.
      Example: 5 gallon bucket = 5 ounces of surfactant.
      Only per (SH) gallon.
      Example: 2 gallon (SH) = 2 ounce of surfactant.

  • @dylanchiancianesi4479

    Hello Dan, thank you so much for the invaluable information. I'm curious as to how much solution you would use to treat a whole house including the exterior siding and the roof. Based on another video of yours it seems the cost is roughly 50-70 cents per 100 sqft or so per my calculations including the cost of SH and and the Soap. Considering I would be using a 8gpm pressure washer does that make sense based on your knowledge and experience?
    🙏

    Hey Dan, I love your videos, how do I know if I can use chlorinating liquid in my pressure washer? Almost everyone says not to use bleach or chlorinating liquid but you say we can if we have a downstream injector, how do you tell if your machine is a downstream injector and it won’t damage the gun or any other components? • @Nathan-wf1pr
      @Nathan-wf1pr Před 3 lety +2

      A downstream injector is just a small ad on attachment you can put on any regular power washer that has standard couplers, put it after the pump where you put power washer hose in, then put power washer hose into injector. Another hose comes off injector into your bucket of bleach

    Hi Dan, how many ounces of the 10% solution do I need to add to a 1 gallon pump sprayer? I am trying to figure out the correct ratio. Thanks.

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před rokem +2

      When using a pump up sprayer such as a 1 gallon type that you’re using the amount of solution you’re actually applying at one time is very small in comparison to a pressure washer using a downstream chemical injector. With that said, a downstream chemical injector like the type I use has a 20 to 1 final ratio And if I siphon that 10% straight then it’s a 20 to 1 recipe going onto the house but at a large volume. Back to the pump up sprayer, being that it’s going to be a small volume going on almost like a mist, you will want to go stronger than 20 to 1. I would go with. 7:1 to maybe a 10:1 mix. Consider using 13 to 16 ounces (2 cups) of 10% per gallon of water. If that doesn’t work well, add a little more a few ounces at a time. If it cuts the yuk under 3-5 minutes, add water and thin it out to minimize damage to plants and lawn

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před 4 lety +5

      If it is unpainted wood, will need either a stronger recipe or use pressure but be careful. A stronger recipe can be obtained by mixing it into a pump sprayer. I would start with 15 ounces of 10.5% SH for every gallon of water and see how that works. Use the sprayer to apply and use the Blacktip to rinse.
