Same here!! Diagnostics are saying fill valve and I know it is not that. Mine will spray intermittently and that was the confusing part. I did end up having to pull the main pump and clean it out (drain pump pulled in this video was fine). Thanks a lot!

I've had a service tech here twice. Told me I needed a whole bunch of new spinner parts. I told him I would rather just buy a new one. I happened to see this video and did exactly what you showed and found the sticker from a plastic plate plugging up the fan. Dishwasher

Just bought a new whirlpool dishwasher in October of 2023 and after 2 months, it quit spraying. Water was coming in good and draining good. I ended up using Thrift drain cleaner to get rid of the gunk rather than taking the dishwasher out, but this video helped me figure out how it worked and what was wrong. Thank you, Sir!!!

I’ll spare you details of my dishwasherless life if the past 9 months, but on the very same day that I broke down and booked a repairman today after the 3rd inlet valve that I diy replaced did NOT fix the issue…I STUMBLED upon this video, then read the comment and decided to try it and BAM! I had spent two days trying to figure out why the middle arm was not spinning and the bottom arm was barely spinning. Your video lead me to the source of the problem. A piece of foil-plastic was completely covering the pump impellers. I cleaned the plastic out and reassembled it. The dishwasher is working perfectly again. I had almost conceded that we would need to go buy a new dishwasher. Thank you for the great video!! You saved me the expense of a new dishwasher.

My dishwasher was starting and filling with water but it was clear the sprayers were not activating so nothing would be clean. I was frustrated until I found this video. It's a super easy fix. Mine wasn't even dirty, like at all. Still I washed it out and reassembled. Dishwasher now works. Thank you so much for making the video. Took about half an hour from start to finish.

This guy, right here. I have the exact same unit and it was doing the same thing. When I took it off, I thought there was no way that was the problem cause there was nearly nothing there. I even took a picture of the part number so when it didn't work I knew what to order.

Just ran into this problem with, the same dishwasher, where the prayers werent spraying and after watching this video several times and hold and behold. I had a little piece of plastic stuck in the sprayer pump.. I took the sucker out and Boom 💥 problem fixed.. Thanks alot bud for uploading this tutorial video. Saved me hundreds of dollars.. I have almost the exact same model (except the front of mine is black) and it would fill up with water, the heating element would work because the inside was warm but it wouldn't spray water. I thought the board that controls it might be gone but everything lit up and it would fill up with water, so I figured that couldn't be the problem. I was seriously thinking about buying a new one until I found this video. Thank you, you just saved me and countless others hundreds of dollars. 🎉

This is the exact problem my machine had. Model WDTA5OSAHZ0. It would fill up with water, soap drawer would open, then nothing. Following these steps helped out a lot and fixed my dishwasher. Thanks!
Dude this was it! $65 down the drain in parts and all along is was gummed up, and not even bad. Can’t believe a little debris caused total failure and it was such an easy fix! THANK YOU from a dad that’s been doing a LOT of dishes for the past six months

Man, you saved my day! My dishwasher started not cleaning well a few weeks ago, and three days ago, it was completely not spraying water - when the washing cycle was done, dishes were still as dirty as they had been put in, and dish liquid was around the dispenser (still dense). Other "how to repair" videos won't help - I don't even have the device to test continuity, LoL. I was about to give up and thought about calling a technician today, and thank God that I saw this video! After I clean that part, and put it back, WOW! It sprayed water again!

Not sure how to explain it. Water fill was good, Drainage was good, heat dry was good, no spray. So I watched this video thinking i'd find a bunch of goop in the spot he shows - nothing there. Put it all back together - BOOM! success right away! Thanks for the video!

My husband and I have been overwhelmed with work and life, so when our dishwasher quit working we thought we were going to have to buy a new one (usually my husband can figure out how to fix anything, but lately work is just absolutely wearing him out and there’s not enough hours in the day). Right on my man! This was the fix for me, a small shard of broken glass was stuck between the fins in the impeller. What a moment when I could hear the water flinging all over inside rather than the lame sound of just the fill and drain. Thanks a million.

Took me a little longer because I was trying to turn it clockwise (to the right) so I said, what the hell and turned it counter-clockwise (to the left) and it popped right off. 😁 Thank you for giving me the courage to try this. Bravo- i did a shortcut . filled it with hot water and use a shop vac to clean inbound and outbound water inlet and I put the shop vac on spinning arm out bound water and made the motor spin by sucking the water out. it worked thank you . I also reset the washer there is video for that here .

Our dishwasher is less than 5 years old and a slightly different model. I pulled it apart like you described and took apart a cover to find a screen that had a slight scum film on it. Cleaned that all up, put back together and it fixed it. I was amazed that a little scum could prevent it from spraying water. Thank you so much, saved me some $$$
You just saved my Christmas weekend!! I have the exact same dishwasher. It wasn't spraying water, so I took it apart like you said and found some ice in there. It has been in the single digits around here today, and I have an old drafty house, so it is cold.

This video seriously needs to be at the top of the search results for this issue. I've spent all afternoon trying to figure out this stupid problem and why my washer (same model as yours, at least visually) has started absolutely sucking in recent weeks, and this was the exact problem. Cleaned out the impeller and she's good to go. Every other resource I've found has told me to either hire a professional to come figure it out, replace the entire sump assembly, or buy a new machine entirely. Doesn't help that the user manual for this stupid thing is god awful.

Guys, this truly is the cause of most people's issues. I tried just about everything which led to major cleaning of gunk (Which was much needed), but I still had major spray issues. Once I did this it was game changing. I reconnected everything and the dishwasher started spraying better than ever! My best advice is this: do what this video recommends and then clean your dishwasher filter every month.

I had this precise issue with my Whirlpool dishwasher which was less than 5 years old and I followed your instructions for cleaning out the water pump precisely as you highlighted in this video! The part with the plastic to route the water actually didnt look that dirty, but separated it from the motor part and the throughly cleaned it. I used a straw cleaner and a toothbrush and sprayed a lot of hot water. Then reassembled everything and the sprayer started spraying and working properly again! This saved me hundreds no doubt! My dishwasher stop on Thanksgiving. Thinking I had to buy a new one until I saw your video. My pump had a bunch of hair in it. Cleaned it out and bam!!!! Works perfect. One month later of course. Lol

This worked great! So my situation: Dishwasher "worked" the whole cycle completed, but nothing was clean. Basically, water comes in, leaves, but the spinners never kick on, it doesnt "spray" the dishes, cycle finishes. Cleaned the filters, checked the overflow bobber, took out the diverter motor and tested it (good). Then took out the impeller like in this video to clean it. When I first looked at it, it didn't seem THAT dirty but as I got out a straw cleaner to get in each slot, something hard popped out... maybe some piece of glass or something, it went down the drain too quick to see. Put it back together and did a test run to make sure I dont have any leaks - it all worked perfect. Thanks for the video.
