How To Adjust Audio - Group Chat is too Quiet

- I'll show you how to adjust audio, which is particularly useful if you're recording the chat on your motorcycle comms but it's too quiet to hear properly. This will work on a variety of video editing software, I use Final Cut Pro in the vid, but it will also work on Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Kinemaster and lots more.

Off topic to this video, but related to another video a year ago...
So I'm at the parking lot of the Cheesman Cyn trailhead in Colorado, when it is suddenly overrun by a biker gang on identical bikes. About 6-8 of them. Something clicks in my head: Hey, I think those are the postie bikes TP1 warned us about! Got to talking with the leader (who was a older than the rest), and sure enough that was what they were, and he was very knowledgeable on the topic.

I don’t connect my Comms to the tft bud so wouldn’t have a clue I’m afraid 🤷♂️
I use a stereo splitter on my set up that has volume controls on it makes it easyier

@@canuk_guy873 mine is very similier to teapots but mine just the sterio splitter is swaped around with the break out cable that way you can have a simple 3.5 to 3,5 male cable on the side of helmet

Fit like loon. Great video. I hadn’t wandered into the audio effects much in FCP, but I have found the Audacity app pretty good. You have to export the audio out of FCP and bring it in to Audacity. What you’ve shown will cut out that in my workflow.

Aye I’ll use Adobe audition if I need to do any really heavy audio work, but generally I can do most stuff in FCPX👍

Seems a tad tedious to get it near decent, but I also know that you quite soon develop a familiarity with all controls and levels and what to expect. These tricks are bloody awesome to get to a decent base level. 👍
BTW: Do you have any special filtering to handle Scottish to avoid bursting eardrums and all that jazz? 😉
(I'm from Skåne - southernmost parts of Sweden - and our dialect is Sweden's version of talking Scottish...)
Ha Ha, yes there’s a special filter called ‘AWESOMENESS’ which handles all Scottish and fellow Celt dialects 😉🤣👍
You’re right Jonas, it is tedious and labour intensive to do all this, but as you point out, it does allow you to get the best out of your available audio at times.

@@teapotone That makes perfect sense! (Awesomeness - the filter that puts an emphasize on diphthongs/triphthongs and all guttural sounds.) I can't even keep track of how many clips I bailed out of because the sound has been utter garbage - none of yours as you can imagine.
Human brain is a marvel that can take almost a 50% S/N ratio and still make sense of it under perfect conditions, but it makes you focus differently and distracts from what you want people to know and understand. -3 dB on sound levels are half the volume, and when you are at -34 dB you are in very dark territory. Every setting and adjustment that can tweak that is a godsent.
What irritates me is the iPhone nanny that keeps reducing my volume over bluetooth making listening to music while wearing earplugs a non event (except for my cursing). Any setting I’m missing?

I’m doing a vid on this actually, but it’ll be a while before it’s published.
In the app tap > Profile > then tap the ‘gears’ in the top right, then tap > Audio, and you can now alter the attributes connected with audio such as speed, volume, pitch, and you can change the voice too 👍
