- NO BURN ERROR MESSAGE...THICK CHILI... GUARANTEED!!! This method is FAIL PROOF in any electric pressure cooker to guarantee NO Burn, Water or Hot light error EVER again. No throwing out burnt chilli and then having to scrub the bottom of the pot... ever again...I also use Carol Shelby's Chilli Kit that has all the spices that he has already thought out... tested... and Perfected!! All you need is some meat, beans and whatever YOU want in YOUR chili... this is...and has been...our go to chili mix for years... me and Babydoll love the stuff and we both have a slight different recipe for it... make it your own and I honestly believe it will be you're favorite too...I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THIS PRODUCT...I just really like it.

I used your recipe and also ordered the pan you used and my FIRST TIME making chili in my life turned out EXCELLENT! Thank you!
That is excellent to hear!!! Very glad to know I helped and thank you for trying the recipe and sharing your results!!!
Came looking for this after strugging with the BURN on a stew recipe. Thanks man, you are a genius!
Thank you for this video. Been trying again and again to make chili in my instant pot and get the burn notice every time! I’m with you, chili needs to be thick! Can’t wait to try this!
I honestly think this is the only way it should be done in one...I really think you will be impressed... thanks for watching!!!
Great looking chili jelly 007 and I would like to say the world needs more people like you in it
Thank you John Jackson!! And you too!!!
My kind of chili! Looks delicious!😋😋 Thanks for sharing!❤️❤️
I think you will be impressed Sandra...thanks for watching!!
Thank you for sharing your recipe and your positive thoughts!
You are very welcome... and thank you for watching!!!
Yummy looking as usual. Keep up the great recipes. Thanks
Thanks Sabra... And thanks for watching!!
Made a variation of this tonight and it was awesome! Used a 7x4 pan and it was just big enough to hold it all. Thanks John!!!
That is absolutely fantastic to hear... glad I helped... thank you for trying this method and sharing your results Rick!!!
Wow John I watched this for making a chili and ended up finding a great mixture for loaded nachos! I am the exact opposite of you and think chili should be a little more liquidy. But as I kept watching you make this thick chili and seeing the finished product a light went off and I thought that would be perfect for a topping for loaded nachos! The thickness is perfect for them. And all the condiments you have there would be perfect. And the best part is it is so easy to make fast. Thank You and stay safe and God Bless!
That is a excellent idea... thanks for sharing that...i might just do that myself next time...thanks for watching!!!
Awesome video and recipe. I can't wait to try it, because, like you, I don't like soupy chili...and thank you so much for your thanking First Responders and all those people putting their lives at risk for us, etc....Thanks again!
Glad you enjoyed it Warren... it makes for some good chili... first responders are very important and put their lives on the line everyday for us... and even more now than ever...thanks for watching!!!
Thank you for this recipe John!
You are very welcome and thank you for watching!!!
Hello John. The no fail method is basically the pot in pot method. Another great video!
I have some of the pot in pot devices and quite honestly liked them for some recipes for awhile but found that the lid hinders the steam pressure in recipes and is somewhat unpredictable...i haven't used mine in sometime but I do have a salmon and green bean recipe I did with them a long time ago...i think you will find a huge difference in this method and the pot in pot method but I can see your point... thank you and thanks very much for watching... and commenting!!!
GENIUS!
Lol... that is one I don't get very often!!! But it does work really well !! Thanks for watching!!
Great video can't wait to try! Do your need to use a trivet or can you just put the dish straight into the pot? I have a Ninja Foodi by the way
Another great video Jelly007. I really enjoy your content. Keep it up.
Thanks Steven... glad you enjoy it and thank you for watching!!!
Thank you! Every single time I make chilli in the IP I get the burn signal. I add more liquid and I still
Get the burn signal. I do not like soupy chilli either. It’s just not chilli. I’m going to try your method today.
I made chili using this method with the fat daddy, the chili kit, and the IP. Man oh man, it was killer! Added fresh onion with the sour cream and mini crackers. Probably the best I’ve ever had in my 54 years! Thanks for the video.
That is really good to hear Jeff... thank you very much for trying the method and sharing your results!!!
I make a Pumpkin Walnut Chili it is Thick and Delicious. You can find the recipe on Utube at Pinch of Yum.
Thanks for using family owned Bush Beans. Their plant is an hour from our TN home. Yes chili is meat and thick.
I love Bush beans!!! Thanks for watching!!!
I make that all the time but on the stove, will have to try it this way. Tillamook cheese is the best. Made in Oregon!
My stores have recently started carrying Tillamook...i have used it a couple of times and it seems to be a good product...thanks for watching!!!
In 1967, racecar legend Carroll Shelby transformed 200,000 acres of mining ghost town into sacred Texas ground: the first-ever chili cook-off at Terlingua. What began as a non-stop party of fire-breathing chiliheads morphed into an annual, International Chili Society world-famous championship, and Shelby and fellow judge C.V. Wood founded the International Chili Society (ICS).
But while everybody else at those cook-offs was fussin'
and wranglin' over who claimed the best chili recipe, Shelby knew the simple Chili Kit Bagtruth: that it really only matters to the person who's eating it. Ever the entrepreneur, he began giving away his own chili fixings, handing the stuff out in brown paper bags he designed over a friend's kitchen table. His customizable concoction grew so popular that by the sixth ICS cook-off, "Carroll Shelby's Original Chili Kit BoxTexas Chili Kit" was on the market. Today you'll find Shelby's four-part Chili Kit in a box, still imbued with original Texas flair and his original philosophy: "It's what you want when you make it. You can put in anything you feel like at the time...
make it one way one time, another time, a little different.
Make it up to suit your mood."
Texas born and bred, the baby Stetson was born in 1923 in Leesburg, a teeny little town just east of Dallas. In 1940, he graduated from Dallas' Woodrow Wilson High and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. During his time as a WWII flight instructor and test pilot, he courted his fiancee by dropping boots with love letters onto her farmland - from his airplane. After flight-instructing, Shelby also tried his hand at dump-trucking, roughnecking, and chicken farming before finally saying, "To hell with this, I'm gonna do what I love." And that was hot-rodding.
1954 - 1960: A natural talent, Shelby won four races in borrowed cars before being scooped up by the Aston Martin team to race throughout the U.S. Carroll Shelby Trophy Europe. People cheered Shelby on for his spirited candor, cool-headed driving, and trademark striped overalls. (In a rush to get from the farm to the racetrack, Shelby stirred up a bit of publicity when he was spotted behind the wheel still in his work overalls. Always the showman, they soon became his signature - along with his black Stetson, the same one you see on our packaging.)
The fast-talkin' Texan (who once won a race with his shattered arm taped to the steering wheel) is considered one of the greatest racecar drivers of all time. Twice named Sports Illustrated's Driver of the Year, his victories ranged from Torry Pine to the Le Mans 24-hour, with innumerable accolades Carroll Shelby Cobra scattered between. A heart condition forced him to retire early, so Shelby shifted from driving to designing and made even more history. By stuffing Ford's big ol' V8 engine into a lightweight English roadster, he began a famous lineage of Shelby muscle cars. After cooking up the Cobra, he was commissioned to tinker with another famed sports car: the Ford Mustang. Still revered and collected today, Shelby's special-edition Mustangs remain as legendary as his taste.
Shelby approached his cars the way he approached his chili: by starting with a base, tweaking it to his taste, and taking off in whichever direction suited him best. So go ahead - fix that bowl of chili however it suits you. Carroll Shelby makes it authentic.
But you make it original.
Thank you Lew... that is some really good information and I appreciate you taking the time to post that... thanks again brother!!!
@@JohnSanders I am sorry I went so long on that. Of course being from Texas, I've always been a huge Shelby fan. I couldn't resist giving information about him. John, I really, really appreciate your videos, and I really appreciate your kind heart. It kind of choked me up hearing you talk about the doctors, nurses, and first response folks. I did a little checking and I found some good agencies that can help with getting resources during this crisis. I found this: Memorial Assistance Ministries
www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=13892&from=HotTopic-Grouped&fromlistid=476
If any of you wish to donate, this looks like a very worthwhile agency. Thanks so much John. I'll try to not take up so much of your site going further. Thanks brother.
You take all the time you need Lew!! And thanks for the link!!
Just got the stupid add water message like as if I want watered down chilli. I am going to try this method next.
Please post your recipe for chilli soon as this kit is expensive on amazon. It looks good, but I know you will have a go to recipe as good with spices I already have. Thanks !
It needs some perfecting but I hope to have a video soon...thanks for watching!!!
John, this looks great. Just received my Ninja Foodie Deluxe, will try this. Also, would this also work for vegetable beef soup?
Your gonna love the deluxe and I would think so but I have not tried that yet...thanks for watching!!!
I just got the Ninja Foodi 8-Quart 9-in-1 Deluxe XL. I haven't opened the box yet. I see you put that wire stand in the bottom of your instant pot, under the Fat Daddio. I don't think the foodi comes with this. How will I do this in the Foodi? Do I still need to add in the water? I have't seen any videos telling me to add water when pressure cooking. Thank you for the help.
It comes with a wire rack you mention and yes I would use it... You always have to add water to the pot when pressure cooking... That is how it develops the pressure... Hope this helps and thank you for watching!!!
Are you using a 6 quart or 8 quart instapot? Does the Fat Daddio PRD-84 fit the Instapot 6 quart? Thank you for showing the no fail method. I kept getting the burn light when I made chili. I thought it was just me.
It ain't just you...lol...i have had many!! But the Fat Daddio PRD 84 will fit my 6 quart although I was using an 8 quart in this video... and I'm not sure it will fit all 6 quarts...i have a video that shows how to get to fat daddio's website and how to find the compatible models they have listed... here is the link and thanks for watching!!!

@@JohnSanders The Fat Daddio PRD 84 does not fit the Instant Pot I have, which is the Duo Evo Plus 6 quart. Most disappointing. But, I've placed an order through Amazon for the PRD 64, which I hope will work, as the recipe looks wonderful.
Thank you for sharing that... there may be others that it won't fit so everyone should measure the diameter of the liner of theirs to make sure a 8 inch diameter with a 4 inch height will fit before ordering one... thanks again!!!
Would the pot in pot work in the 8 quart Ninja? What size do I need?
I'm would think so... I just don't think the lid helps and might even hinder the process...thanks for watching !!!
Does this pan have a removable bottom? Please point me in the right direction for the correct one. Thanks
This pan does not have the removable bottom but they have some that do...i have a video I will link below that shows detailed information on how to find these pans...thanks for watching!!

John is the pressure cooker that you are using your most favorite. I had several models and I always go back to Instant Pot for pressure cookers. Which of your Ninja Foodi's do you like the best?
Is this a good deal on the Ninja FD401 Foodi 8-qt. 9-in-1 Deluxe XL Cooker & Air Fryer-Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker, 8-Quart $229.99, Are still using yours?
I do live this unit for a "stand alone" as I call it... meaning it only does one thing but if I could only have one device it would either be the Ninja Foodi deluxe or the Instant Pot Duo Crisp which as you may know has a air fry function combined with pressure cooker... and as i also say in many of my videos... that combination is greatest thing in the kitchen since the microwave!! Thanks for watching!!
Can you put the Chilli on the slow cook setting on instant pot ?
I don't see why not and I think most models have that...
I'd add diced onions, and peppers.
That would be a very good addition... thanks for sharing and thank you for watching!!!
looks really tastey
Thank you Sue... it was really good... even again today... thanks for watching!!!
Hello John, is that a 6 or 8 quart instant pot your using? I have the 8 quart and was wondering if that fat daddy-o is the right size for mine.
It is an 8qt...I have a video that tells how to go to their website and see what pans fit which devices...I have linked it below...thanks for watching!!!

@@JohnSanders Thank you so much ! You are a great help to us all ! Keep up the good work !
Thank you... glad to hear I'm helping!!!
Do you have a link for your Chili mix?
I don't but it is available at all the stores including Walmart...thanks for watching!!!
Which instant pot is that one??
That is the newest version Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus... it is my favorite stand alone pressure cooker...thanks for watching!!!
I see that you are an advocate of MAGA, Make America "Grate" Again their cheese!
Haha...I do grate my own cheese...lol.. and I hope America get through this and God willing is back on track soon... thanks for watching!!!
I think the block type cheese is best I grate my own too.The shredded cheese contains anti clumping ingredients and can affect the way it melts.
