I had pleasure to hang out with Owen many decades ago (she was my girlfriend’s BFF) - she truly was an amazing & passionate young lady with such a respect & love for the memory of her mother, Cass Elliott - whom she so resembled in her deep wonderful voice and devotion to music 🎶

I grew up with both The Beach Boys and the Mamas and Papas in the back ground, Cass's voice lives on.i can't help tearing up hearing Owen sing,they hit the harmonies well,and she hits those signature spots where her mom would come in and Carnie gets all teary eyed as well. Glad Wilson Phillips is still making music.

Oh my gosh, Owen has the voice. With the 11th death anniversary of Denny Doherty coming up on the 19th I've been listening to all of the is old songs. This is the first time I've heard Owen. I feel like mama Cass is living on as I hear that amazing voice she gave to her daughter.

BTW, do you know if Mama Cass sang backup on the Mamas & the Papas recording of this song? Wikipedia says that Michelle Phillips sang lead, but doesn't say anything about whether Cass was on it.
@@hotwax9376 If you listen to the original recording on of the male singers intros Mamma Cass and that was her solo song mainly. She is the main singer. Wikipedia isn't always right.
@@bradlysteransky2311 Really? I know that they introduced her on "Dream A Little Dream of Me" and that Wikipedia often makes errors (I've noticed many of them myself over the years), but did Cass sing lead on "Dedicated to the One I Love" as well? I've never heard her introduced on that one.
This is so cool. Never paid much attention to Wilson Philips but this is great ! Owen sounds great as do the rest of them.

Betsy H At least Michelle knew her place in the Mamas and the Papas..she knew Cass was the voice/star. Michelle was fine in a group setting complimenting the others voices, but she never was a strong enough singer to be a soloist.
