2017 was the first time I heard Dimash sing SOS on a Chinese reality programme called The Singer 2017. I have been following him ever since and he continues to astound me, Performance after performance he blows me away, even when I think I know what to expect. Martial Arts Legend Bruce Lee quoted - "using no way as way, having no limitation as limitation " That quote applies to Dimash perfectly ! He has no style yet he is all styles. In many cases, he has performed songs that he learned only 48 hours before the show and in a new language.😅😏 In the begining, Dimash did covers in other languages, memorizing the words phonetically. (You can see in his early performances, at The Singer Show 2017, before he learned to speak english, his accent is strong and some words are not perfect.) Then composer Igor Krutoy composed music specifically for Dimash and they hired lyricists. This was part of his live online concert in 2021. He has done this same song a bunch of times, live, at music festivals and competitions. Most of his work is live. Crazy, difficult, risky songs. Live on stage with an audience. He has only done a few music videos. Of course he also has recorded albums, but many of those were recorded live at competitions or festivals. He did one song, Olimpico, live at the European Games and then later at a couple of his concerts.
Dimash continues to add the number of languages he sings in. He speaks fluent Kazakh, Russian and now his English is remarkable as well. He speaks a little Mandarin. When he sings in other languages he works hard to sing in phonetically. He not only sings in multiple languages, but he does any genre he wants from opera, to rock to rap etc. He plays multiple instruments, composes music, acts etc. What you have seen today is only the tip of the iceberg. I liked and subscribed hoping for more Dimash reactions😊 Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Dimash do not speak that many languages. Like he said, he only speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English. He learns the songs phonetically. Yes, I think it's still amazing because it's a whole set of sounds he has to memorize and most of us cannot do it.
This is Not pre-recorded, this is just one song (sung in french) of a "Live" streamed concert with a "Live" band. Dimash performed this during the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why there is no audience. Brilliant reaction and big shout out for investing in the singer before the video, shows true class man. There are actually no "bad" versions of everything he does, just different, this is from the live online concert he referred to in the interview, it is his sort of signature song and the general introduction to Dimash ( he sang this as his first performance at The Singer competition in China in 2017 and he blew up in China overnight and word spread fast around Central Asia and through Europe, he started a World tour only managing to do the New York concert in The US (Barclay Centre sold out) before Covid managed to halt everything tour wise... but anyway as he performs concerts around 3hours or so he is a little tired here so not at his best... his English has improved dramatically since the time of this interview but the trick to singing in languages that you don't know is standard in the Classical (Operatic) world because they are expected to sing convincingly in the language of the song and understand the meaning of the lyrics and perform it as close to Native as possible. Dimash by this time had been classically trained for close to 20 years and he goes above and beyond when it comes to how seriously he takes his music.
He does covers and originals in multiple languages. It’s one thing to phonetically “imitate” words in other languages but quite another to understand & emotionally express the meanings behind those words/phrases. He takes the time to do those extra things. Dimash, technically skilled, on another level from anyone else - past or present. His fans are “dears” because they are dear to him. Hope to take the time to check out his vast repertoire - you will not be disappointed.

Dimash Kudaibergen a.k.a “Dimash” was born on 24th May 1994 in Aktobe which is located in the west part of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dimash's first appearance on stage as a performer was at the age of two in a minor role in a local theater production. He began acting at a young age. At home, he became interested in musical instruments; and his parents and his music teacher noticed that he had absolute pitch. At the age of five, he began taking piano and singing lessons at the children's studio of the Zhubanov Music College, where he would later attend university accompanied by his grandmother Miua. He has expressed gratitude to his early teachers and to his grandmother, who took him to his lessons every day despite the pain in his legs. Dimash first sang on stage the same year, at the age of five. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe. Dimash completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English, and is studying Mandarin. He has performed songs in 16 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Armenian, Arabic and Cantonese.
SOS is in French. Dimash is seen to speak Kazakh, Russian which is his 2nd language, some English, and some Mandarin.....and sings in much more. 2017 was the first time I heard Dimash sing SOS on a Chinese reality programme called The Singer 2017. I have been following him ever since and he continues to astound me, Performance after performance he blows me away, even when I think I know what to expect. Martial Arts Legend Bruce Lee quoted - "using no way as way, having no limitation as limitation " That quote applies to Dimash perfectly ! He has no style yet he is all styles. He is known as the 1 take wonder. In many cases, he has performed songs that he learned only 48 hours before the show and in a new language.😅😏
In the begining, Dimash did covers in other languages, memorizing the words phonetically.
(You can see in his early performances, at The Singer Show 2017, before he learned to speak english, his accent is strong and some words are not perfect.)
Then composer Igor Krutoy composed music specifically for Dimash and they hired lyricists.
Later on, Dimash created songs, outlining what he wanted to say and getting lyricists to create words for him in that language. "El Amor en Ti" in Spanish, is a good example of this.❤
The only song that I know, so far, where he composed music and lyrics himself is "Omir Mood Video/2023 which is in Kazak language and shows his life in images. Omir means life.

“SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.

This is considered Dimash's signature song, even though it covers a song from the French rock opera "Starmania". Dimash began his music education at five and now has three degrees, including a Ph.D. in music competition. His mom is an opera singer in Kazakhstan, and his father is also, but not opera. His father is his manager, and Dimash controls his own career. He declined to sign with music companies here in the States. He did not want to have anyone dictate what, when, and how to sing. Every song he sings is different because he sings in every genre you can imagine like Opera, pop,rock ballads and a mixture of all of these. Including the Diva dance from the fifth element.and musical instrument which he likes to replicate the sounds with his voice. A good one to listen to is Stranger and Olympico. This was part of his live online concert in 2021. He has done this same song a bunch of times, live, at music festivals and competitions.
Most of his work is live. Crazy, difficult, risky songs. Live on stage with an audience. He has only done a few music videos. Of course he also has recorded albums, but many of those were recorded live at competitions or festivals. He did one song, Olimpico, live at the European Games and then later at a couple of his concerts.

Dimash continues to add the number of languages he sings in. He speaks fluent Kazakh, Russian and now his English is remarkable as well. He speaks a little Mandarin. When he sings in other languages he works hard to sing in phonetically. He not only sings in multiple languages, but he does any genre he wants from opera, to rock to rap etc. He plays multiple instruments, composes music, acts etc. What you have seen today is only the tip of the iceberg. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Dimash do not speak that many languages. Like he said, he only speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English. He learns the songs phonetically. Yes, I think it's still amazing because it's a whole set of sounds he has to memorize and most of us cannot do it.

This is Not pre-recorded, this is just one song (sung in french) of a "Live" streamed concert with a "Live" band. Dimash performed this during the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why there is no audience. Today Dimash is a global superstar, every time he arrives at an airport in a new country hundeds of "Dears" shower him with flowers. The same happens at the end of every concert, Dears fly in from all over the world to see him in concert.
All songs of the Digital Show were pre-recorded. Dimash is still the GOAT though.

This SOS performance came from this online concert. To answer your question, it is very rare that Dimash does not sing live. I have been Dear since 2020, I went to Dimash's concert in 2022 in Kazakhstan. This young man is phenomenal, a passionate worker, a personality of great value... Enjoy your journey of discovery. Difficult to recommend a song among the hundreds circulating, Dimash is always surprising. Perhaps "Omir" (last video, in the studio with his brother on guitar) where Dimash takes a look at his life journey (in Kazkah language) and his expectations. Or the very last “When I got you” (in English), an enigmatic song, which seems to evoke his marginal and solitary condition of celebrity.
Brilliant reaction and big shout out for investing in the singer before the video, shows true class man. There are actually no "bad" versions of everything he does, just different, this is from the live online concert he referred to in the interview, it is his sort of signature song and the general introduction to Dimash ( he sang this as his first performance at The Singer competition in China in 2017 and he blew up in China overnight and word spread fast around Central Asia and through Europe, he started a World tour only managing to do the New York concert in The US (Barclay Centre sold out) before Covid managed to halt everything tour wise... but anyway as he performs concerts around 3hours or so he is a little tired here so not at his best... his English has improved dramatically since the time of this interview but the trick to singing in languages that you don't know is standard in the Classical (Operatic) world because they are expected to sing convincingly in the language of the song and understand the meaning of the lyrics and perform it as close to Native as possible. Dimash by this time had been classically trained for close to 20 years and he goes above and beyond when it comes to how seriously he takes his music.

It’s one thing to phonetically “imitate” words in other languages but quite another to understand & emotionally express the meanings behind those words/phrases. He takes the time to do those extra things. Dimash, technically skilled, on another level from anyone else - past or present. His fans are “dears” because they are dear to him. Hope to take the time to check out his vast repertoire - you will not be disappointed.

That said, go to The Singer competition in 2017 where we Dears heard this for the first time,when he was just 22. But Dimash now sings less and less covers and more and more of his own music, composed either by himself (he does have a master’s degree in composition), or by other songwriters, such as Igor Krutoy.

Dimash Kudaibergen a.k.a “Dimash” was born on 24th May 1994 in Aktobe which is located in the west part of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Dimash's first appearance on stage as a performer was at the age of two in a minor role in a local theater production.
He began acting at a young age. At home, he became interested in musical instruments; and his parents and his music teacher noticed that he had absolute pitch.
At the age of five, he began taking piano and singing lessons at the children's studio of the Zhubanov Music College, where he would later attend university accompanied by his grandmother Miua. He has expressed gratitude to his early teachers and to his grandmother, who took him to his lessons every day despite the pain in his legs. Dimash first sang on stage the same year, at the age of five. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe. Dimash completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009.
He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English, and is studying Mandarin. He has performed songs in 16 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Armenian, Arabic and Cantonese.

He learns them using phonetics, and gradually learns the various uses of different vowel and consonant sounds. He is extremely good on gutteral sounds in words as they are local.
