Sh!t happens - and unless you're really alert and maintaining good situational awareness then you're... "forked". BTW, this "getting used to speed" is the reason why many people crash "some (short) time" AFTER they leave these express roads, on which they drove for last hour or more - it takes some time for your brain to readjust and see again "100 km/h / 60 mph" as "forking fast" - a speed at which you just CAN'T stop on a dime. Or when people driving on outermost lane, when accidentally rolling one wheel off the tarmac while going at speed instinctively grab the steering wheel and try to "steer back" - which most often results in the car being shot at the centre / divider as if from a giant slingshot.
We're going to see far more accidents like this caused by these big wannabe TV screens they stuff in our faces in these modern cars. The latest Tesla screen is sixteen inches!

You'd have to be a moron to buy an SUV or a pickup when you see how easily they turn over in accidents. Conventional cars rarely turn over in accidents but the high centre of gravity of SUVs means they often turn over with fatal results.

They were probably towing and the trailer started wobbling. It happened to me once when I was moving and going faster than was good for me. I slowed down as soon as I felt it but that shit's scary af. Trailer recommended speeds are there for a reason!

Notice that the height of the camera is LOWER than door opening handles (?) on that red pick-up - so probably the driver of it never saw/ noticed this much lower car, and anyway these pick-ups are infamous for their big "dead" zones - a driver can't see a 4'/120cm kid standing in front of it unless the kid is few metres/ yards away from it.

People are not perfect, they do make mistakes, albeit yes, some of them suffer from overcompetitiveness syndrome - still, this particular case does not look to me to be the case of it. But then I might be just wrong, who knows...

I'm also happy to accept that rather than slow down for the red they probably exceeded the speed limit to avoid stopping (red means stop, green means go, yellow means go faster). But those two driving habits is what leads to crashes; poor risk management. Hence, play stupid games win stupid prizes. Not managing risk is stupid.

This is not to say "yer wrong" - I'm just saying what I do see and what I don't see, and I'm not claiming I'm right and others are wrong. And yes, I do agree that bad driving habits and "rush it up!" reflex cause accidents. Also, that _red means stop, green means go, yellow means go faster_ - I just LOVE it! : ) Cheers!
