Sometimes the simplest of builds is the best =)
Yeah, this was a really good use of sprues. 😁
Is there not a way to use liquid sprues and inject them instead of using the (colored) glue?
I foresee a video from you where you make gaming tiles out of sprues, wither 3x3 inches or larger boards. I do wonder if the liquid sprues would warp at large pieces, like 12"x12" tiles?
@@RPRsChannel Cheers, yeah I cant see why that wouldnt work and do need to try, Ive just made some more panels with glue but maybe next time I will try it =)
Wow, to be honest, watching the video I thought these looked really bad. Then you started throwing the green paint on that one piece and it really came to life. It truly looks like some sort of poured concrete bunker. I'm definitely making at least one of these for my guard.
Thanks for another video!
Its amazing what paint can do and I think the stencil with the numbers really helps a lot too =)
Gotta say, I really love the way the glue "pops out" of the frame, it makes it look like a piece of metal that's been melted and roughly flattened for the purpose of making a quick barrier.
Yup, that was a happy accident and does look good =)
It's perfect for some orkish builds!
and you can melt it with glue gun tip to make whole like it was shot from plasma or something. Cool idea :D
It also kind of looks like quick set concrete which was poured into a plywood mold, with the plywood later removed. You could paint the sprues up as metal and it would look like some kind of field-built fortification.
Yes, I concur.
Good for organizing tournaments. You could literally copy the dimensions of the expensive GW terrain that people are practicing on for Octarius for example. And supply that to a large tournament for very little cost.
This is a cheap and very fast option to build scatter terrain =)
The thing I love about these videos is that all the methods shown in them are extremely easy to use. And I usually kind of want to whap myself for not thinking of such easy methods.
This video was and is exactly what I needed. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for terrain. Thank you😀
Im glad you found it of use, cheap and fast terrain is a winner =)
Looks awesome! It gives the effect of a bunch of steel pipe and scrap that's been welded together and then had the gaps filled in with concrete.
Killteam, Necromunda, 40k, these are great for any tabletop board game. Wish i could like this more then once.
Genius!
Pure genius
Gonna steal this for our channel someday
Props will of course be given
Thanks !
Yeah do it and have fun =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist I showed this video to my son and he Immediately responded with "We gotta do that"
So glad you approve and we would love to hear your advice on how we can improve our modest channel.
Again thanks we are in your debt.
I've seen a lot of glue guns in my day, and that one appears to be THE HOTTEST
It is a good gun =)
Amazing, im a big fan of making scenery and terrain right now for the narrative campaign im playing with my mate.
Between this and the Sprue Goo videos, it has been a real game changer.
Keep up the good work.
I remember for my birthday my parents made loads of terrain for me; they made a fantasy style tower using a pringle tube, polystyrene to make a cave, hills and a mountain, they made a swamp/dead forest using cardboard in PVA glue as a base and the trees were made from wires twisted around into all sorts of shapes
I had loads more but I barely remember because It must have been 10+ years ago that day 😂
I hope you like some of them ideas and I would love to actually see the making process because I only saw the end result 😅
Great idea! I’ll never throw away old sprue again!!
This is like the best idea i have ever seen
This was awesome and I am very surprised that I have never seen it before . Thumbs up
Thank you so much, its always good to try new things =)
Really like the idea of using glue to fill in gaps.
Very retro. I dig the 90s style
Wow 90's is retro, what does that make the 70's and 80's =P
Great idea with the glue. Cool ideas
Looks good and, for the cost, great way of creating custom terrain.
Cheers, glue sticks are cheap and the clear ones are cheaper than the black but I liked the look of the black glue lol =)
i like it. you could design stick figure terrain and print it out real fast and just fill in with the glue.
This is so simple and genius.
As for future ideas: since you have a 3D printer now, why not try out some smaller scales? Epic or Warmaster? Open up a whole new terrain world too!
This is genius. I will be utilizing this technique in my next terrain build
That's a bloody great idea! I wish I had thought of that when I used to play 40k as a kid.
Holy crap. I now have a purpose for the whole moving box worth of sprues I have. Time to make a necromunda reclamation center to fight over!
It makes me want to buy some warhammer armies just to use the sprue bits! Nice work!
Its a good excuse to buy more =)
I really love your sprue designs so much!!
Excellent idea and looks so good! And no 3D printer in sight! 😉
Haha, I gave it a rest this week =)
Fantastic stuff. One thing I've always disliked about building terrain is getting a good foundation going that looks "right" and the waiting times between projects.
Not here! This is going to be my new ideal way to make quick scatter terrain! I'll probably keep the bumps on the sprues so I can glue with them facing down and get that great "steel paneling" look. Also for added texture I think gesso will do the trick.
Thanks a lot!
This does have to be one of the quickest types of build and the glue drys within minutes =)
Nicely done sir, fresh idea for the community 👍
Thank you, its all about sharing ideas =)
I was definitely skeptical at first but these are very useable. Great work!!
I reckon more time on the paint job and they would be awesome =)
This actually just blew my mind.
Awesome, I hope you can get another mind to replace it =P
Love the big pile of shame and pile of sprues reference lol
Hope all is well my friend ? Great video as always
This looks pretty cool actually. Can't wait to try it out once I get my hands on some more sprues
Go out and buy some more sets then you will have more sprues lol =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist I have plenty more plastic kits still on sprue but like many not enough time to build and paint them 😅
Very cool, these would be great for dioramas too. 😎👍
They would and so quick to make =)
Amazing terrain pieces
Played a drinking game. One shot for every 'so yeah' - I get my new liver next week.
Fantastic work - great idea, really well-executed. Thanks for the inspiration!
I’m totally trying this out, it looks brilliant!
Cheers John, it is quick and easy =)
Looks surprisingly good.
Yup it does lol =)
This mad lad never disappoints
Thank you so much, I try my best =)
I just made some trees and fallen logs.
Garden wire twist for structure wrapped and shaped with tinfoil.
Then sealed with sprue goo just using my fingers to shape it over the tinfoil
They look great and are as hard as nails
Foliage is another thing that’s a bit harder
But if you wanted dead looking trees these work a treat
Hey thats cool and kinda what I will be doing next week =)
I always enjoy hot glue when building terrain. This is great really. I knew I saved those sprues for a reason.
Hot glue guns are pretty awesome, next week Im going to try and make trees with glue lol =)
Kinda genius. Nice work.
Thank you =)
Amazing! I've been saving my sprues for some reason and this seems to be it!
Cool, give it a go =)
Build quality and weight are very impressive considering there are no holes.
Yeah, that's the good stuff
Thank you so much =)
Brilliant work as always!!!
Thank you so much =)
Take a shot every time he says "yeah"
😂
Make it a large one =P
That black hot glue is kinda unnerving. :)
Excellent, luv your ideas tutos !!!!
Cool, its good to share =)
I love this idea
Thank you =)
These are very cool, 💡 I may pinch this and make some Necron obelisks
Thanks 👍
Cool, have fun =)
Well I missed the dang premiere
No worries bud, I did do it pretty early =)
Love this idea!! New idea, same materials but shipping container! And maby put some 3d printed "gribbles" in the glue wells for extra detail!! Love your work. Keep it up :)
Indeed, even another perimetral sprue of the same size stuck onto each face to make the whole more 3d-ish
Yup shipping containers would work well, sprues and glue to build all sorts =)
Your rotary tool blade probably heated up the glue via friction and remelted it as you tried to cut it, making your blade all gummed up and not cut. Just my opinion on why that happened.
I don't even play these games and enjoy watching your videos. Keep em coming.
Exactly what you said =)
Thx man i love this
Awesome, give it a go =)
Good easy barricades :o
yup cheap and quick =)
wonder how well belt sanding the panels would work for flattening them down.
I like the idea, but I live in South Central US and anything I make out of Hotglue runs the risk of melting and or weakening the connection in the heat.
Holy s*** boss, this is fan freaking tastic thank you so much for posting this video absolutely genius! Say could you tell the person where one could buy some of that black glue?
That is fantastic, now I just need a glue gun that doesn't explode backwards over my hands. :)
Before getting into miniature wargaming I built Gundam models... and I never threw any of the runners away... im about to have a field day
Thought you did this 57 seconds, lol! Also have you ever seen that old show: "American Gladiator" from the USA channel, those are spot on for how the show had their terrain too!
I think it was 57.6 seconds lol, haha was their sets made of cardboard =)
nice texture on the glue bits looks like it could be metal panels or even canvas type. would it be worth trying the same technique on a textured mat instead of the greaseproof?
Yes a txtured mat would be awesome, I need to find something and try that, thank you =)
Neat stuff. Might have to give the hot glue gun a go.
Do it, im gonna try and make trees next week with the glue gun =)
I think I hear the rest of those sprues and acetone crying in the corner....
haha, yup the acetone is at the back of the cupboard now lol =)
What brand of grease proof paper do you use then ones I've gotten stick to everything still
Could you please make leman russ batlle tank entirely from spues?
Which Kind of glue do you use for the big gaps of the Walls?
Simples.... but oh so effective
Yup I like to keep it simple lol =)
What kind of paper is that?
could you please link me the tool you use to saw the plastic? the "automatic-dremmel"? I cannot find it, please :°(
thanks anyway, useful video, I would use it
👏👏👏👏👏👏, in french it's said 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you =)
Aaand can you do this with a) melted sprue and b) Carboard paste?
Awesome =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist but It das a question...
Ok but how about simple cheap and strong plasticard?
Can buy nice big sheets of it, and it gives you a lot more control over what you make as it's more versatile, modelers have been using it for years along with High Density Foam, or thick cardboard before that.
Not to be a downer or anything, this is neat and creative, could be fun for a one off or something, but plasticard really seems like it would be a better alternative with higher ceiling of what you can create.
I see the silicone skyrocketing in price...
The clear glue is even cheaper than the black sticks, but I liked the look of the black glue lol =)
Are the black glue sticks any better than normal ones? Normal hot glue is a bit of a pain to paint, though primer and maybe sanding usually sorts that out. Anyway I bring this up because dealz (I believe it's Poundland in the UK) sometimes has packs of 32 glue sticks for €1.50 (what that is in GBP I don't know but I think it's a bit less than you're paying currently!)
Really enjoy this idea though my inner miser insists it's shocking wasteful. Might try it with some cardboard or sprue shavings to save on hot glue. I know, I'm a chronic hoarder.
What happened to spruce goo panels?
What is that glue gun?
Can you use any glue sticks, as I haven't got any black-type sticks here in country NSW Australia, great idea and an Awesome video please keep them coming, Cheers Bob.
Yup, the clear ones are cheaper but I just liked the look of the black ones lol =)
You were using too large a blade on the cutting tool. To cut lines through things you need a narrow burr.
How much did the glue gun cost, though?
Not sure Ive had it about a year and had lots of use out of it =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist
Understandable.
Different question, then: what brand of plasticine do you use? I tried CraftSmart, but it's way stickier than the stuff I see in your vids. It gets stuck in the cracks and crevices of the models, and even with an acetone bath it still won't dislodge.
Could the glue gun be used to make WW2 bunkers???
Probably, Im gonna try and make trees with the glue next week =)
Poundland sell 20 gluesticks for £2, and a gluegun for £5, if thats any use to anybody
Oh.
Burn the glue with the head of the glue gun
Stolen this idea from you right double quick... Fantastic Idea and so fast to make...
Cool have fun and yup very quick to do =)
turn sprues into hot glue sticks?
Haha I need to try that =)
