Some few month ago, we experienced the scarcity of tomatoes and pepper in Nigeria.
The price of tomatoes range from #150, 000 to #90,000 in the market.
Welcome to another marketvlog, in this video I shared the current price of basket of tomatoes. You get to see the rate of tomatoes has really crashed.

I think the prices are still high oh. I’m comparing the prices to the average below minimum wage salary and that’s still relatively unaffordable though it’s better than before.

Thanks for doing this great work Madam ojuolape.
I think the price variance still depends on the quality, freshness and species of the tomatoes.

You're right but it's expensive in Lagos. I bought tomatoes on 16 August the tomatoes that alway round tomatoes and strong, cause I freeze them. The tray is 21k in Akure. Lagos price is still on the high side and no uniform price which is bad.

Some of the food may be GM (genetically modified) food, that’s why they are so cheap. This market people are very smart.

I don't agree with you. These are southern parts of Nigeria tomatoes. But the problem is that tomato farming is not practised exclusively in the southern part. I have a content creator that is into tomato farming. She is harvesting heavily now here in the south.
