My definition of being "in love" comes after the 2 year "honeymoon stage"... being in love is a long term commitment. Before that, it's just silly dopamine and attraction. However you could be an open book to your husband and he can turn around and stab you in the back by bringing up all the things that you've done wrong every 6 months to a couple of years for the rest of your marriage. And after 22 years of marriage my husband still brings up all the things I've done wrong. And yes he is a Christian.... However he is a narcissist.
So sometimes being an open book can lead to imprisonment of your marriage as I am his wife I sometimes feel like I am stuck and in prison. And that is what happens when you're an open book like I have done.
I'm so sorry, that feels terrible. Did you ask him why he needs to do this? It's really bad for the relationship; destroys trust and intimacy.
If he's a narcissist, he won't change. You don't need to suffer through that toxicity .
