This stone wall may be a stone called 大谷石/Oya stone.🤔 It has been used for building materials and walls since ancient times because it is soft, easy to work with, and has fire resistance. I often see them while walking. Oya stone has small holes in it where there are impurities such as wood fragments mixed in. That small hole may have gotten bigger over the years. In Tochigi Prefecture, there is the Oya Museum, which is located on the site of the Oya stone quarry, where you can learn about the history of Otani stone mining. I've been there once, and it had a mysterious atmosphere like an ancient ruin, so it was really nice.👍 It has also been used as a filming location for numerous movies and dramas.😄 I was also surprised to find pomegranates in a residential area in Tokyo!😳
