It is nice to see the father and sons combo working as a team. Happy Father's Day to both fathers.
Happy Father's. Chris's little boy was so cute when he said he would go grab the parts off of his dad's truck. Gunner is sure a good helper.
Plus all they got paid was in cheeseburgers. Lol.
Watching Gunner's shadow giving you hand signals showed he's really growing up.
And his camera work was pretty good too.
Great video for Father's Day, Dad's and their sons working together.
What a great video to come out on Father’s Day. Thank you. Enjoy your time with your son when you can. Going to spend my day visiting my son in the hospital fighting cancer.
Prayers for your son and family.
sorry to hear this. Sending prayers.
Farmer Chris should be a regular feature. You definitely have a star studded cast there.
It all adds up to be one excellent channel.👍
He's in several videos and there several podcast he is in.
Too funny I paused it when gunner was standing with his hand on the shovel looking at the hole with his friend and thought there’s Dpt and Aaron 😂. Love the video as usual. Thank you for making them .
“Not much taller than your other helper.”
So Gunner is taller than MBTS. I knew it. 😂🤣
It has been over sixty years since I was Gunner hanging with Dad on the job, but I still had a memory of the smell of that dirt when you pulled up that ground to find the pipe. Amazing what stays in our brains for decades.
Happy Father's Day Mike. Sure, are a couple of dandy helpers you got there.
Happy Father’s Day!! Gunner being there to help you is priceless!
It won’t be too long before Simon Excavation will become…Simon & Son Excavation! 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing DP!
Love the way Gunner has opened up... Raising a future foreman.. Just enough work to get dirty
He's got the hand signals down for sure
Gunner and Howard … what a TEAM !!!! Awesome job you guys !!!
Awesome job allowing younger dirt perfect team is polishing up on what they know and your introducing them to the next step in the process. I could hear their conversation while filming you. Gunner recognized his mistake. Talked it out and made a decision. Today the team began learning wise decision making.
Crew is getting younger 😂stay safe folks ❤.
Mike Great Job posting this video on Fathers Day ! Seeing you include Gunner was a Great choice ! I'd be willing to bet that you did the same ? Watching and helping your dad !? It's good for Gunner to get out with you working from time to time ! (PS) Hearing Gunners little comments while being your camera guy? Doesn't get any better than that ! Happy Fathers Day
That ground looked like it was a lot of clay or clay like material. Hard to get water to flow through it. Great Father and Son day. Gunner is growing up fast and so is Howard. They will both become find men someday. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!!! Another great video Mike!! Thank you for bringing us along on your adventure!!!
Great to see Gunner join you. Happy Father’s Day, Mike.
Showing a father and son working together And put it on CZcams on Sunday Father’s Day can’t ask for anything more!! Thank you

Gunner was darned good help! To Gunner, be good to your Dad today. Come to think of it, EVERY DAY!
I agree with the last comment. Hunter is growing up so fast. And giving hand signals and watching for that pipe he is a very smart young man. He is going to be taking your spot in a few years. HAPPY FATHERS DAY to you and your crew
Good job Mike. Happy Father's Day.
Mike soon Gunner is going to be operating the equipment and you will be the shovel man.
On another note is Wade and family ok? Haven’t seen a video from him in a month.
Happy Father’s Day 👊
Happy Father's Day Micke, Aaron, Matt, Farmer Chris, Michael Kleeman, Junior Daley and anyone else I may have for gotten!
Does the heart good to see those little fellows be so willing and ready to help. Happy Father's Day.
I used this same "dry well" technique when I had a French drain that was not picking up the water. Its been dry as a bone since.
Watching those two boys working together brought tears to my eyes.
Thanks Gunner , A team rescued this one..to all good work, fingers crossed..UK out..little one sorry didn't catch your name ace pipe work..
Smart little dude you have Mr. DP
The young ones certainly did earn their after work Pepsi for dragging that pipe across the field and were happy to do it. Great video to teach how the future learns enthusiastically. Happy Father's Day folks. Stay safe and well.
Happy Father's day to you and Chris. Gunner is a chip off the old block for sure! He'll be a youtuber before you know it. You had two great helpers today.
Happy Father’s Day Mike. To you and all the father’s and father figures out there.
Great to see Gunner helping again!
Your little helpers make for a great video DP. I hope that you have a great Father's Day.
It was great seeing you and Gunner working together yesterday on Father's Day. Hope you had a wonderful day and know that this can be a bittersweet day for you. I lost my father to cancer when I was 24 (now approaching 60) and the day brings sweet memories. Happy Father's day!
So refreshing to see dads spending time with their sons. Happy Father’s Day. It’s all about time spent with our kids
Video timed just right, Happy Father's Day to both you and Farmer Chris !
We have so many grandchildren it’s good to see these boys exposed to good outdoors activities that they can enjoy and learn
Happy Father's Day. It's so cool to see the boys out working with their dads!
Hey DP, I think Gunner is gonna make a good VP of operations. Might even get Farmer Chris' little man into the mix.
I enjoyed watching you and Chris with your sons on Fathers Day.
Love seeing them youngens out there learning. And having fun. And memories to talk about years to come.
Farmer Chris is spot on about those tires. They might as well be slicks.
Awesome to see the kids getting involved!!! This country needs exactly that on a huge level!
Great job Gunner… you are growing up so fast, be proud young man. I’m sure your dad is…
Keep the vids coming, you're doing great 👍 happy father's day
I think Chris is right. The slots in the tile may have silted in blocking water coming in. The gravel will create a "french drain effect for the water to filter through. Let us know how it turns out...
Those pipes will always block in that clay, why didn't they use a pipe with a filter sleeve (geotextile sock wrap) , which is designed to protect underground perforated land drain pipes from becoming clogged up by sand and silt particles.
@@stuartandrews4344 i wondered that too. We have a lot of similar soils here.
Mike, I think this is a job where you need Lt Dan (Based on watching him roll and climb through stuff prior to the rebuild)! Getting out was almost a complete success with the Mack ! Still nailed the job, even with the smaller help! Happy fathers day!
Surprisingly often a wet hole gives us trouble, great job tho!
Lord have mercy. More like gets us in trouble.
I know that had to make you proud watching those young boys working like that.Their chatter was so enjoyable. Happy Father's Day Mike
It's amazing how hard we have to work to accommodate waters laziness.
My farm has springs all over the hill ground. The water follows the ledge rock out to the surface. Those springs can flow more water than you think. I have one that runs over 500 gallons a minute in wet periods. We started with a six inch tile and then put in an eight inch. We ended up digging in a 12 inch pipe to finally get it stopped.
In our heavy clay soils we have the same issue getting the water in the pipe long term. The inlets will try to silt up. We are now digging a Y, with the upper legs going up hill for 10-15 feet each side of the spring flow. We lay tile in the bottom and back fill with inch clean stone. We then cover that with silt cloth before we back fill the top with dirt. The oldest of these are now over fifteen years old and are still working.
P.S. It is great that you both have those young men helping. They learn a lot doing this type of stuff with you both.
I remember going to work with my father sometimes on Saturdays when I was a kid and how much I enjoyed it. I got to ride around with him on a forklift, check things off his clipboard as he loaded trucks and even sometimes got to work the pipe cutter machine. I now know he was just giving my mother a brief time without me being there but I still remember those times happily.
What a way to spend Saturday before Father’s Day. Great together times.
Y’all killed it,great video.keep on doing what your doing.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Great job, boys.
Happy Father's Day! There's nothing like spending the day with your son 😊 makes great memories!
If you try installing one these type setups again you should seriously give consideration to making a sock out of landscaping fabric to cover the fitting and then cover it with gravel or dig down a foot or so then place landscaping fabric then gravel and then landscaping fabric. I have done both with smaller drains on my 5 acre house lot where previous drain pits (field tile pipe into a pit filled with gravel and sand then covered with dirt) that silted up after only a couple of years. The pits I redid now have been in the ground and working fine for now going on six years
Hopefully it works great video thanks Mike and farmer Chris and happy father's day to both of you
Well, from 30 years ago when mine was that age, my experience says taking a kid out and getting him covered with mud before taking him home is not a problem (for the kid). Mom, however, sometimes (okay, always) had a different opinion.
You have to use your wife’s car to get the full flavour !!
I used to take my three to the places their mum didn’t want to, the kind of places I used to go as a kid, cuts down the requests to take the kids out. These spots are best visited without parents around anyway !
That was a great idea, I reckon the drain will work very well.
you're a good dad DP - and happy fathers day. need to be careful how much time Gunner spends with MBTS - Gunner becoming a professional shovel leaner. 😁
Happy Father's Day Farmer Chris
Thanks
I'll bet the boys were as excited to help as you were to let them.Good helpers 😊
Well, this is what Saturdays are for, teaching skills, common sense and teamwork 💪💪💪
Always great to have little willing helpers around, learn the small stuff first and work up as you get older...... Gunner and Howard are already in the process 😁💪
Sometimes you have think outside the box to fix problems, seemed to have worked here 🤞
And Happy Father's day Mike, Chris and followers !! 😃
Do that's so cool father an son working together!! From gary
👍 Happy belated Pappy's day big man, enjoyed watching the helpers. Occom's razor in action, nice!
You got the little boss with you Mike! Awesome got to teach them young! Happy father's day👍
Good on you Gunner - Dad didn't get away with that one! Great to see you all together, the little boys were so willing to help. Pesky problem solved - we hope.
Mike is doing what he does so well, developing new talent!
Happy Father's Day Mike And Chris, It's Great To See Both Of You Bonding With Your Sons!! Is That Mack A Granite Series? It Embarrassing When You Leave The Reverse Switch On At The Pit And Get Out Of The Truck. The Loader Will Give You All Kinds Of Hand Signals, Thinking It's Still In Gear!! LOL Have A Great Day Brother!! Later
That’s some pretty country up there DP. Good to see the kids helping too👍👍
Love your newer intro and out clips. Very Professinal!
Hello Mike,
I tiled for a while in my job career, you might like to consider putting and end of culvert it at the start of your tile at the ditch, ground hogs, and rodents love to chew on plastic tile (previous experience)
DP for the win. When the video started I was guessing attempt 4 at draining that other dam or the beavers are back with vengeance.
Mad respect! Your son talks like you and emulates your actions. That’s a kid who has a daddy that he respects and admires! You can’t achieve a higher goal than that.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 interesting how you solve the problem
Happy Father's Day, Mike and Chris! Mine graduated high school last night - enjoy these years before they're gone!
Happy Fathers day Mike!. You'll try anything to get water flowing where it isn't wanted. Keep up the good work man.
Watching this on Father’s Day a great watch happy Friday Day Mike and Chris 👋👍🇨🇦
A bit unorthodox but it could work. Personally I would have wrapped it with one layer of filter fabric to keep it clean.
Happy fathers day my friend.
2:56 Always a blast to see Aaron in these!!
Viewing this 5 🌟 video on Father's day 2023 hope you had a nice one and as always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Well now...MBTS has a few inches over your "new help" but he did a nice job keeping you straight Mike. 👍👍
Nice to see the boys working.
Valued lessons learned from a great Dad. Happy Fathers Day to all the crew
I like your idea of digging a pond, I was thinking it might be easier to just plant rice there. Great to see the young men wanting to be part of them team.
Pulling off the road into that slop was something ( Matt or Aarron) would have done. I could have sworn you were driving at first.😮😮😮😅😅
Pretty cool bringing in the little Squirts backup crew of Gunner and Howard.
Those two will remember this day with fondness the rest of their lives.
I have a feeling they got a trip to the Durby stop and shop with the new driveway and a bunch of excavation equipment for ice cream treats.
Just gotta find the right pay to fit the crew.
Now, if only that was oil coming outta that gusher :•)
Farmer Chris would really be a happy 'Ol dog.
Happy Father's Day Guys keep them young men going with you the next jenerashion 😊😊😊
you can tell Gunner has been around construction he holds that sharp shooter like a boss
that very dark soil is swamp mud. very fertile but holds water badly regardless of drainage efforts. if the water can't go down it must come up. this is a deep dry dam type of situation which will lower the water table to the depth of the dry dam. it will remain wet below the level of the bottom of the dry dam.
this is a tough job to get drained right
Awesome vid of DP and DP JR working together
Nice job Dirt perfect and farmer chis and the Kids behind the scenes! Happy father dad!
Thanks
Good video Brother. Father and son bonding time together x2 , is awesome
So glad to see you and your son working together. I know he was enjoying it as much as you, DP!!
I love the enthusiasm of Chris's son to go get stuff. Thise 2 kids could be the future of this recurring collaboration. Awesome video. Glad you got the kodak moment.
