Not gonna lie, this made me cry a little. It's heartbreaking that the art of hand-drawn animation is dying out, this is stunning.

The art of hand drawn animation is not dying out. Many of these artists are now sharing and teaching it to the new generation. It is in the next generations hands. as long as people still love to draw it will never die :)

CGI animation may be wonderful, but nothing will compare to the hand drawn animation of Glen Keane's
he is absolutely amazing.. but let's all not forget how amazingly talented the girl is too! she deserves just as much credit in this :)

Glen keane is simply amazing. Each work is a unification of many years of hard work, passion, devotion and most of all-love.

Glen Keane, you never cease to amaze me. This was captured so beautifully.
the characters facial expressions between 2:30 and 2:35 are just... phenomenal. The way he perfectly captured the emotion of the character, the determination and steel in her expression is honestly astonishing - especially with how simple the design/art is. To be able to portray that level of emotion with such a light series of lines is genius.
Absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE how fluid the drawings are; when she moves faster the lines get less defined as though they are blurred by motion, and then settle back into definition as she slows again
I love how you can pinpoint the exact second she comes alive. And its SO alive, it's incredible!

the minute the animation started i kinda screamed and had goosebumpes all over my body and teared up and felt numb for the next 2 hours ! it's basically why am into animation ! i hope glen keane stays well and healthy and keeps on creating
This makes me so emotional. Such beauty. I love it. It shows the girl was being called to a higher calling. She danced her way through the wind and push and pull. With all her strength she leaped and bounded and found her truest potential.

as an ex ballett dancer........ it's so nice to see ballett animated correctly. the movements in this (and "duet") animation are so fluid and look like ballett is supposed to look. well done

His designs looks a bit like Pocahontas. Did he design Pocahontas?
I know he did work on the film and am pretty sure he was the main animator of her . I had the pleasure to meet him once , very nice person.

He designed and was the supervising animator for Pocahontas. He was also the designer and supervising animator for Ratigan, Ariel, The Beast, Aladdin, Tarzan and Silver from Treasure Planet. He also did the bear fighting in Fox and the Hound and the Eagle sequence in Rescuers Down Under. He was widely regarded as the finest animator at Walt Disney animation studios in the 90's to early 2000's. His final role was on Tangled. Initially a director but then demoted to just Character designer... He later left the studio to pursue his passion for hand drawn animation. This man has been one of my greatest inspiration in animation.
