In all Halo games people get mad at me for well almost never using my gun to kill Grunts for I like assassinating them. I got really good at it. So fun fact in Halo Reach not 3 but Reach which is the last Bungie game while Halo 3 is made by 343 Industries. Well in reach there is an assassination animation that only happens when you perfectly assassinate someone while moving forward to there back and starting a jump onto the person you are assassinating but they have to be starting to jet pack away and if it happens perfectly you will volleyball spike them with your hands clenched right into the ground. It will cause the enemy to be nailed half way into the ground.
As someone who watched this challenge live, that stream were 5 hours of progress were lost because of connection shenanigans was one of the most painful yet funny moments I have ever seen.
so i beat halo ce laso on solo( meaning you have the do the save and quit exploit to not restart the level) and i was just about to finish the library running to the very end trigger where out of fucking no where a fatty flood landed right in front of me blowing up and killing me. I was so shook from dying i forgot to save and quit in time and ended up having to start over from the beginning.
Frustratingly it was the only stream I missed. Honestly we all tune in for the pain and misery these challenges bring so I was frustrated to say the least
16 and pulled it off but I feel it. It was ptsd inducing. Died on gravemind about 170ish times and spent six hours, took me less than regret funny enough

I still love Halo and have been an avid fan since the first game came out.
The time 343 has had Halo though has been completely tumultuous and divisive though. I won’t go into a big paragraph or soap box but I can definitely tell the general consensus is that the community is absolutely not happy with the direction it is going and Infinite was a complete dumpster fire when everyone was hoping for a dub.
I’d be lying if I said I’m excited for the future of the franchise. Best I can be anymore is cautiously optimistic but even that’s hard when the last three releases haven’t been up to the same level as the Bungie games.

@@Bellen_Official and yet halo 4 is higher rated than more than half the Halo games including the bungie ones, halo 5 had the longest lasting multiplayer and most donations in terms of support for a halo game, and infinite has more campaign purchases than all other bungie games combined. If there was no quality they wouldn’t be doing well in that regard
you know how bad it would have been if you didn’t have a friend. The iron skull restarts the mission so I know you can imagine what it would have been like without that
You can actually just save and quit when you die and you'll restart at the checkpoint

I legitimately had nightmares when I was playing Gravemind on LASO. I’m not kidding. I actually had nightmares and lost sleep because of that level haha.

I think Regret is worse than Gravemind as it requires skips, while Gravemind is more of a push through, plus the really difficult part of Gravemind is the begging and the prison. Regret can mess with you through the whole mission, have to hit triggers, etc.
The prison is difficult in Gravemind but sticks and brute shots can help you with the most difficult part, and land safely from the gravity lift. Brutes still die to sticks and there is an abundance of them, as well as making them berserk prevents them from shooting at you.
@@stardust_2339 Regret wasn’t too bad up until the boss fight. There were a fair amount of tricks required to get there, but the boss fight itself was brutal. Getting the boss room set up with the pillars to block the enemy spawns was tedious as hell. And it took me a while to finally get a checkpoint in the boss fight where the pillars would remain set up so I wouldn’t have to spend 30 min resetting up the room again after each death I had. Gravemind’s opening room was a nightmare, especially since I missed one of the despawn tricks. Thankfully, I was able to nail the prison skip after about 30 min of attempts. After that, the level wasn’t too bad.
as a fellow MCC achievement quester, i applaud you man. i’ve managed legendary for everything but LASO scares me.
its not really as hard as it seems at first, if you have a strategy, map knowledge and a way to move around at first it becomes pretty simple (dont quote me on it though, the furthest ive gotten is heroic, I cant go through legendary)
@@Yuuki74305How are you going to tell someone LASO isnt that bad and you cant beat the game on legendary??? I have done LASO on every halo and I can tell you, its a teeth pulling experience. Its miserable at times. It takes all the fun out of the game.

Same, played through Reach Legendary with 2 buddies and we Bodied everything in our sight. LASO is a different story, we are screaming like little school girls when one elite goes WHAAARRV WOHHH BABABAB and goes fcking berserk while dropkicking one of us
Very cool video, Snam! As someone who has been playing Halo since my older brother stuck a controller in my hand when I was practically a baby, let me say this is a really, really impressive achievement. The only harder Halo LASO than this one is H2.

Once he finishes SLASO maybe. Co-op is closer to a grind, solo requires a lot more strategizing

Halo 2 is gonna be ROUGH. The prophet of regret fight and gravemind take forever unless you do very specific skips.
Not only that but also those jackle snipers 😂 those are true nightmares
@ChefVoid In my playthrough I did with a friend, the snipers are actually not too bad. Their AI can be manipulated, and the jackals still die in one headshot from a sniper or BR. Nothing about them fundamentally changes from legendary since they already one-shot you there, and had high awareness, so once you're used to aiming without the reticle, they're surprisingly easy.
It seems like I should actually do research for that then (I probably will forget and die a lot)

@@ChefVoidOn LASO believe me, a jetpack elite with a plasma rifle is way worse than a sniper jackal. A pack of drones is way worse than a jackal sniper. The jackal snipers still die in 1 shot, they're a small nuisance, especially since they have a finite amount of spawn locations and can be manipulated. One of the hardest levels in H2 LASO is Cairo station and that level has no jackal snipers. The opening room in gravemind and regret room in regret have no jackal snipers either, and those rooms are brutal. They are doable though, I managed to get all 700 about a year ago and I'm not that good.

The Bday, Funeral and boom combo is the sharpest double edged sword in any game I’ve ever experienced. It was a specter of chaos that hung over my entire run that could make any encounter a cake walk or a nightmare and is now my preferred way to play halo 1.

i didn't know that one skull prevents you from picking up Covenant weapons, that's REALLY bad when dealing with Elites.
also, i read in a game magazine that one of the creators of the original Halo said that making the Library so long was a mistake, it should have been just one floor.
Yeah, worst part is that OG Halo CE didn’t have skulls at all and they were only added in the MCC. So the game is absolutely not balanced for them at all haha
This came out at the PERFECT time. I just beat Halo CE today.
I never got to play the original games, and honestly really enjoyed the first Halo. Gonna be playing Halo 2 and 3 next.

Been playing Halo for over 20 years now and finally worked up the courage to do LASO... Beat CE solo 2 days ago and that was an ADVENTURE lol so worth the pain though
Fuck. That. Ill do it with an extra person but ill be miffed if i get the end of like the library and some fucked shit happens and i gotta redo the entire level without that buddy there. Thats like 3 hours of lost time for me and i simply cant handle it.

The "it's so over" to "we're so back" switches on the Library were beautiful to behold. First that amazing grenade throw saving yourself then clipping through the ground from a corpse, then the end cutscene triggering after you died just to reset the checkpoint again.

Yeah i recommend doing 2 last. It easily is the hardest overall and has many of the hardest levels. Jackal snipers r also the bane of my existence
@@ginger_nation5633 Unfortunately, I like doing things in chronological order, so I guess I'll suffer more. Also, haven't seen the Jackal snipers in 2, since I'm stuck in the first level. Scared to even think about meeting them for the first time. Also, first time playing Halo 2, so maybe not the best idea.

A friend and I got to the last room of that level on LASO after 6 hours but I messed up the exploit that makes the level easier right at the end and we had no ammo left so we had to call it without a win. It's rough stuff!

@Snamwiches There really isn't a headshot mechanic for the flood in Halo 1. It is a common misconception.
The legendary completion in the flood room took forever. I can’t imagine soloing it on LASO

I warned you about halo 2 laso in the reach video. But a little trick you can do in halo 2 is stuffing your head in to a wall or box and looking down. If they cant see your head they cant see you. Best of luck in the future endeavors

I spent a lot of my time in lockdown getting achievements in halo:MCC. Managed all the speedrun achievements first. Then did all the SLASO achievements… halo 2 SLASO was the most anxiety inducing thing I’ve ever experienced in a single player game. It took 3 hrs to do the first mission because punching Johnson through the entire mission sucked. The last section of regret, not to mention gravemind, which took 2hrs of practice just to do the elevator skip. I’m glad it’s over

Man because of your videos is the reason why I went back achievement hunting on all my games I started with Left 4 Dead 2 real deal achievement and it was hard but I completed it right now I'm working on the gears of war games trying to do the insane achievements after that I'll be going to The evil within games
I am bad at FPS with gamepads so I can not even imagine myself trying to acomplish something like this so I aplaud you for this one.

This series is great cause to a lot of people, LASO is an insurmountable challenge, but this proves with dedication and a few tricks anyone can do them.
Also props for sticking through fight after going up the lift in T&R that is consensus the hardest part of CE LASO.
I look forward to the inevitable Halo 2 LASO, challenge to see Snam really lose all his hair.
