Summit Point is perfect for MX5's, also had many good races with these lot a few months back.
Had the same result in my race at Watkins Glen in the gt3 Porsche. Got my first pole. Lead every lap. Won my first race. Missed fastest lap. Nothing like your first win. Fastest lap can wait.
I had a very similar race on this track the other day. P1 in Qualifying and lead the entire race. After a couple mistakes by me on my last lap. There was a 0.2 difference coming around the last corner. 2nd fastest lap overall with no draft and 0 incident points I was pretty pleased with my performance overall

The Grand Chelem, iRacing style! F1 drivers don't have to worry about incident points! Nice one, Dave. Fastest laps don't add iRating or safety rating so who cares?
Do you think the new vpg wheel is worth it with a csl dd ? (8 Nm) isn't it too big ?
Was this with a fixed setup? Gear ratio seems different with the fixed races. Great track/Car combo though
Didn't realise you can keep the foot down round the S section, probably been losing a good tenth as I normally lift at he final part going into 3rd gear. Think my best is a 1:21:4 a few month back, could only muster a 1:21:8 the other day tho🤔
Yeah if you get the start right it's flat out the rest of the way. All starts with the tight right 👍
USF2000's, the best kept secret in IRacing. Best handling and best racing imho. If you're get bored of GT3's and GTP's, jump into a race at Belle Isle this week. Nothing boring about that car/track combo! 😃

@@davecamm lol, life! Working crazy hours to make up for the destruction of the American economy over the past few years. Had to move out of state when my rent tripled in 2020 and I haven't had much time for pleasure until recently but I'm finally settled and ready to race again!

I've been a fan for about a year now, it was wild to find myself in a top split race with Dave. Must have been a slow day in iracing. (: I saw the back of Dave's car once or twice on lap one and then, well, I finished ninth. Anyway, that was cool. Hope to have the opportunity again some day.

Little technical question Dave... is your steering angle set to 540 or 900? I'm still in the rookies and I always turn my wheel more than you do. I'm at 900deg and I think that maybe I'm oversteering. Can't get my times below 1.22sec.
He has it set to 900 mate

an idea suggestion: how about a race with all UI elements off (on a day not sponsored by RaceLab)?
No relatives, no track position, no lap count onscreen, no IR/SR indicators - you’d have to ask Jim for those! 😅
He's done this before, check his catalog! For me, I prefer the overlays because I like the context. Especially the brake and throttle overlays as well.

By default it's ctrl numpad 1 & 3 👍
First time I can compare my laps with yours :D My last race was the best here with 1:21:003 but it was within the draft in 2nd split (others got 1:20:989 and 1:21:001).

Good car and track but usually is carnage and major loss of safety rating due to poor driving habits. Still enjoy the Mazda though.

5th gear down to 1st gear probably?
These are sequential cars not H-Pattern. They were H-Pattern until a few years ago the sim updated them to sequential.@@frogbaseball
I've blown my engine in the mazda like that before. Go down the gears too quick while in high revs can do it.
