    Battery life on S22 makes it a non starter for me. While I prefer a smaller phone, the Pixel 7 isn't substantially larger. As for the cameras, Pixel cameras continue to improve, thanks to software upgrades. A Pixel 4 will take comparable pictures to a Pixel 7 thanks to that AI software. Samsung cameras are about as good as they will ever get. Add the call screening and I'll take Pixel over any Samsung product.

    • @JohnScottB
      @JohnScottB  Před rokem +5

      Nice! And I agree the S22's battery life is just plain bad. I will say though that Samsung does continue to update the camera software/firmware which historically has improved over time. I've got another video showcasing the S10e vs the S22 and it's surprising how much better the S10e got over the three years that I had it. The S22's camera is improved now over when I got it. Not saying you're wrong about Pixel's continuing to improve as well.

      I am using S22, Battery life is not that great (at Home) but for Outdoor really a Powerbank is necessary, but still other features like Camera, UI experience, Small Form-factor and Call-recording made me buy this, also I am a light user of phones, just to make calls/messages, clicking photos or casual Browsing.

  • @tanguyp.4009
    @tanguyp.4009 Před rokem +8

    It's really up to you to structure these comparaisons however you feel is most relevant to you, but one thing I would consider changing would be to separate the Design/Display category in 2, and then combine the Display/Fingerprint/Speaker into one "Interface" or "Hardware" category.
    The reasoning behind this is quite personal, but I feel that Design is a full category in itself: you look at the phone all day long so it really matters what it looks and feels like. And then you can talk about the interface between the user and the phone (screen, biometrics, sound, ports, etc.) and the hardware specs of all those.
    Anyways, that's just my opinion, and this was a really great video! We can tell that you put a lot of effort into it, and we appreciate it!

I didn't regret it but the Pixel 6 had a lot of flaws that were annoying. With the black Friday deals, I traded my Pixel 6 for a Pixel 7 for pretty much nothing. Pixel 7 was the phone that the pixel 6 should have been. Everything seeym to be fixed. Fingerprint reader and face unlock works flawless. Although you did noted about the Samsung ecosystem, but I feel like you should of left that part out if you weren't going to show results with Google's ecosystem as well to give those two a good comparison. Either that or grab a smart watch that a fossil or something so neither Pixel or Samsung has the ecosystem advantage. I'd give the camera point to the Pixel 7 especially because the videos you should us, the S22 looked more jittery. The night mode I personally like the P7 coloring over Samsung, but that is just personal preference. To me it's more so a tie in score. It fits in your pocket at the battery life in the slight shutter lad kills it. I ended up getting a pixel seven takes a picture quickly. No blur I don’t do much video so it doesn’t matter to me what it comes to software updates. The differences is the galaxy gets a year old you get further and further back on when you get the updates where is if you get a pixel you get it when it comes out so the galaxy S 23 will come out and then the S 22 will be behind it so you won’t get the updates as quick whereas in the pixel it comes out if you still have the pixel seven you get the update the same time as the pixel 8… I got to say Samsung has come along way with their software and I have a S 10 E I use as a running phone and it’s great if they kept that thing updated I would’ve never gotten the pixel seven

    I was a Samsung fan for years but gave the Pixel 6 Pro a go and love the smoothness, the UI and the battery but after updates and many bugs I went to the Pixel 7 Pro and I gotta say, this is the best phone I've ever used. Can't beat the software and the camera. But I still love Samsung Hardware, they just feel expensive.

      I have to agree 100% with you. I used to be a Samsung fan for years, then switched over with the release of the Pixel 4XL. Although it was a bit of a difficult transition process, price wise I wasn't going to switch back to Samsung. I waited till the Pixel 6 Pro dropped and although many people experienced lots of issues with it, I must have been one of the few that didn't making the Pixel my #1 choice. Then the Pixel 7 Pro came out, traded my Pixel 6 Pro ($550 trade in value) ended up paying only $250, can't complain there and it's even better than the Pixel 6. Definitely not going back to Samsung again

    Great comparison. I have almost identical priorities, but for me, it came down to price. I paid $499 for the Pixel thanks to Black Friday. And I'm trading in my old Pixel 2 for an extra $100 off. I don't have a Samsung to trade so that's a $300 savings. Otherwise, I would have taken the S22

      For sure the Pixel is a fantastic value. I specifically didn't bring up price since there are so many deals available for both phones depending on your carrier so it's hard to judge but just looking at retail price the Pixel is a winner.

    For the last 2 years I've been getting security updates on my galaxy phones months late. Been told that it only happened to a small amount of factory defective and broken software phone. Insurance has replaced with a refurbished that was able to update to December 1st security updates. But even though it's a flag ship phone it's supposed to be January and February coming up soon. Does pixel have security update issues?
    I have trouble logging onto accounts. Apps escalating permissions even with special access change system settings turned off. And wrong credit card charges incompatible with app updates. I don't trust anyone's opinion that didn't experience issues. I'm more interested in someone who has complications and which phone has less issues.

The big problem with the phone is battery I even had to go from 120 to 60 refresh and still it draisn even when you click it off, sucha bad phone. Pixel in other hand last longer, and sorry the Speaker on S22 suck they are just to quiet over the Pixel 7, and it might be bigger but I love the size over the S22. I feel the Pixel si the future, not sure what Samsung has done but they have destroy what made their phone great. Not only do they have a better price, feel it has better features. I know everyone will say i am crazy but since i have pick up this phone it felt good over the S22, always had an issue with it, the big point is the Battery killed the S22, knowing this i know i will be gettign pixel over Samsung now. feel like with mroe work it will the better phone for anyone.

    Biased review or simply wrong. For example there aren't two speakers on the bottom of the pixel. While there are two cutouts only one is actually active. However there is a speaker under the screen where your ear is placed for normal calls. When using the phone to play music or as a speaker phone, that speaker under the screen gets significantly louder.
    That basically means the phone has one bottom firing speaker and a second forward firing.
    So his complaint about dual bottom firing speakers is invalid and shows he didn't try the phone or research the device.
