Body : 2/3 Purple flat braided tinsel.

Under wing : Bunch of Crystal flash.
Under wing : Blue Polar Fox.
Middle wing : Purple Polar Fox.
Top wing : Black Polar Fox.

This is one of the nicest, and most eye pleasing fly I have seen in a long time. It also shows some of the time and material saving steps I use in my tying. Only one thing troubles me and that is when attaching the stinger loop I would opt for a much heavier thread for this section of the fly and switch to the lighter size after the stinger loop is attached and superglue applied. I simply will not risk loosing a fish to a failure of this type considering how far one may have to travel on trophy fishing trips. But that is just me. A stunningly beautiful fly.

This is absolutely fantastic. I have only been tying for a few months, but I just returned from the Dean, Skeena, and Sustut and this pattern was absolutely our most successful.
I also adapted it for Orange/Black.

Many thanks for a great pattern and easy to follow video. I will try and adapt it slightly for sea trout in the UK. I'm having difficulty finding the right size/diameter/stiffness Dacron backing to support the stinger hook and would appreciate it if you can advise details so I can try and find in the UK. Rod

I’ve so far been unsuccessful in my search for suitable Dacron backing that will be flexible and also stiff enough to support a stinger hook. I would be grateful if you could perhaps advise the details of the braid - make, breaking strain, diameter etc - in your excellent video, so that I might be able to locate a source.

I am not a fly tyer, so I have a foolish question. Do you have one "hook" with barb or or 2?? If you have 2 barbs it looks like the up turned eye of the front hook is 90° to the front hook barb?? If you have 2 hooks, whitch (front or back) do you usually hook your fish on??

I only have one hook. and i normally squess down the barb. this i think is the best answer :-)

Hi Albertus. Polar fox and fox is not the same. Try to look for arctic fox instead please. . Arctic fox and polar fox is the same. I hope you will find what you are looking for.
